No2 The Flags Reviews

Emma
We had a really lovely stay over New Year at this cottage. The location is spot on, close to the square and local shops and pubs. The living room was super cosy, especially with the log burner - perfect for winter evenings! The kitchen was well stockedand we spent lots of time around the table. The bedrooms were comfy, with three feeling quite spacious. The hot tub was definitely a highlight - we enjoyed a dip every day, rain or not! The owner was quick to reply to a couple of questions, which was much appreciated. Great family memories made!
Mark
The place was in a fantastic spot, super cosy, but a bit outdated. Still, we really enjoyed our stay overall!
James
We stayed in a lovely village with charming pubs and great places to eat, perfect for exploring the Lake District. However, the property felt quite tired and definitely needs some TLC-cobwebs in the downstairs bedroom window and a heating system with no instructions. The TV and Sky kept cutting out, which was frustrating. Parking was limited nearby, so we had to use the expensive racecourse options. It didn’t ruin our trip, but for the price, the condition was disappointing.
Emma
Honestly, we expected a bit more for the price. The cottage was in a lovely village, but the place itself was pretty dusty and not very clean. The beds weren’t comfy at alland the living room had a damp dog smell which was a bit off-putting. The hot tub was out of use the first night because it was freezing! Plus, no parking nearby, so we had to walk to the racecourse. Not the best experience overall.
Claire
The cottage’s central spot in the village is definitely a plus, making exploring easy. We had some lovely times, but the heating and hot water kept giving us trouble. Honestly, it’s not quite worth the price they’re asking for it.
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay here! The location is spot on, right in the heart of the village with everything within walking distance. Parking at the racecourse for seven days at just £35 was really reasonable, so no worries there. The Aga was lovely to cook onand the cottage was cosy and comfortable. Though it could do with some repairs and a bit of a deep clean, it didn’t spoil our trip. Loved the local shops and pubs, perfect for exploring with our dogs. Just a heads up, not safe for dogs on Grange Over Sands beach. Overall, a good stay!
Jamie
The cottage’s location in Cartmel was spot on, couldn’t ask for better. The owners were really friendly and helpful, which was a bonus. It’s got loads of potential, but honestly, a bit of a refresh wouldn’t go amiss. Just some simple updates would make it feel so much more inviting and up to scratch. Still, we enjoyed our stay!
Sarah
This place is perfect for a family gathering, right in the heart of Cartmel. The house was really comfy, making it easy to relax. The owner was super helpful. We've already told friends about it and hope to come back someday!
Emma
Really enjoyed staying here, will definitely come back soon!
Emma
Cartmel’s a charming little village, perfect for relaxing and exploring. Plenty of nice places to eat and enjoy some entertainment. Rooms are comfyand it’s really peaceful too.
Emma
We really enjoyed our time here. The cottage was spotless and cosyand having the hot tub was fantastic. Being right in the heart of Cartmel made exploring so much easier too!
Emma
The cottage was super cosy and well-placed, making it easy to get around. Loved the hot tub-such a nice touch! Parking on the racecourse was straightforward too.
Emma
We had a lovely stay at this spacious cottage. The location was spot on for us, right next to a lively pub with live music and tasty pizzas - great for evening dog walks and a quick drink. Plenty of cafes and pubs nearby made exploring easy. Parking was a short walk at the racecourse, with options for short stays or a full week. The hot tub was a real treat after a day at the lake. A few minor tweaks neededand the downstairs shower isn’t perfect, but overall, we really enjoyed it!
Emma
The cottage was super cosy and in a great spot, perfect for our trip. Parking at the racecourse was hassle-free. The hot tub was a real highlight, especially with the lovely weather we had! Some parts of the place could do with a bit of sprucing upand the heating was a bit unpredictable, but overall, we’d definitely come back. Lovely pubs nearby, too!
Emma
We stayed in this lovely place in a charming villageand honestly, the design is fantastic. Everyone loved the conservatory; it’s perfect for relaxing while listening to rain or soaking up sunshine. The hot tub was a real highlight, easily fitting our group of 6-8. We’re already planning to come back soon - can’t wait to visit again!
Jamie
Really enjoyed our stay! The flat was spotless, comfyand well-equipped. Perfect spot for exploring, though parking at the Racecourse was a bit steep. Owner was super friendly and helpful.
Emily
We loved the location, it’s perfect for exploring the area. The house was super comfy and had everything we needed for our group of 7 adults, a babyand our dog (though a high chair would’ve been handy). It was spotless and smelled fresh. Parking was a bit tricky for our less mobile members, but racecourse parking was affordable and close. Plenty of food, pubs, cafesand quirky shops nearby. The priory was lovely, but the bells at night took some getting used to!
Jamie
Absolutely adore this spot and Cartmel!
Claire
We had a lovely weekend overall, but there were a few small issues. The lack of parking info beforehand caught us out since we arrived with three cars and had to pay £60. The electrics also went out unexpectedly, so we ended up using our phone torches on Saturday night and Sunday morning. A proper deep clean wouldn’t go amiss - everything looked fresh, but dust was pretty noticeable, especially when wiping down the surfaces, black residue came off. Still, the house was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay!
Emma
The cottage is in a lovely spot in Cartmel, which we loved. However, it did feel a bit neglected, with some maintenance needed and not enough info on how to use appliances. It’s also quite cramped for 8 peopleand parking was a nightmare-two fines in a week because of daily traffic wardens. We just want others to be aware so they don’t get caught out like we did. Still, the village itself is charming!
