This has to be the best equipped cottage weve ever stayed in. You could literally just take your clothes!! The hot tub was amazing, beautiful gardens with many games and seating areas, ( not to mention the friendly bullocks in the neighbouring field). Lots of indoor space and areas to sit with so many games ( both board and consoles) a week just wa snt long enough. Did I mention the incredibly comfy beds too?!

Fantastic place. Everything you need to enjoy a break away. Beautiful home, very comfortable. Our dogs made new friends, although not sure what the bullocks thought of them we want to buy a hot tub now. As for Tom and Ali, they are really really warm and welcoming. The cottage was very well looked after, well equipped with so many things to do. The hot tub was a firm favourite!!! The owners were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Fabulous week spent as a family, Damson Cottage is furnished to a very high standard keeping many of the 70s features. Attention to detail is apparent throughout the property. The kitchen is very well equipped. Spent many evenings outside enjoying the hot tub. fire pit & party lights . With 3 teenage girls to entertain there was plenty for them to do. Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed. A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family. From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out. Also popular is the kids tractor play area. For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station. The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU

about 20 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals. Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area. Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos. At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed. Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH

about 22 Miles

Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction. With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun. You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes. Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money. There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
