About Treetops

Resting in the peaceful village of Felton near Warkworth in Northumberland, Treetops is an outstanding three-storey property which offers spacious and immaculately presented accommodation, ideal for a large family on holiday or a gathering of family and friends. Inside, the house is incredibly spacious and light and airy, helping to create a real feeling of grandeur and with so many rooms to choose from, whether you want to all gather in one space or want to get away from each other, it’s all covered at Treetops.

The open-plan living area on the first-floor is simply stunning with a cool sitting area set in front of a stylish, contemporary woodburning stove, an impressive fully fitted kitchen which is suitably extensive and will definitely keep the designated chef happy with all its facilities. Leading off from the kitchen is a large, rustic dining table for everyone to gather and enjoy long, sociable meals together.

Alternative spaces to socialise include a snug, a sunroom and a games room complete with a 3-in-1 games table, perfect for kids (and big kids!) to get away from it all. The wraparound gardens are a particular feature and lend themselves to spending lots of time alfresco with loads of space to explore and an attractive patio area where guests can chill out and relax.

A hot tub adds a truly glamorous finishing touch to the outside space and you can imagine spending many happy hours here just sitting back, relaxing and soaking up the views over the gardens. This is what happy holiday memories are made of.

When it’s time for bed, all four bedrooms are superbly appointed with the choice of two super-king-sizes, a king-size and a double. All offer a calming sanctuary where you can rest your weary heads and wake up refreshed and raring to go.

Treetops Reviews

It was a perfect house we had a fantastic stay , lovely and clean it had everything you require to cook, watch TV or just simply relax in the Hot tub , The village has a great pub with a lovely welcoming atmosphere and great food , we couldn't of wished for anything more. We would definitely return and recommended to friends and family. Just a shame our holiday had to end in this beautiful house.

Amazing location, very comfortable beds, hottub was checked everyday and house clean. Minimal negatives,if being mega picky the road was closed for 2 days so couldn't drive in or out the drive and we hadn't been told, there is literally nothing basic in the house which we've never experienced before eg.washing liquid, bin bags, oil, salt and pepper. This aside local pub amazing food, local cafe and bar amazing and shop stocks everything you need and not expensive. Great stay, thanks
We stayed here 2 years ago and absolutely loved the property, location and facilities, hence being very excited to return. Whilst the house in itself is still great, the wear and tear is definitely becoming visible and the property could do with updating in places. The TV in the main room is poor, and things like the outdoor table were dirty and worn. The oven was very dirty inside and the fanassist on the bottom oven didn't work. The top oven seal must have gone as the control buttons above became incredibly hot and you couldn't turn it off without burning yourself. The outdoor bins were full and overflowing when we arrived so we were unable to use any recycling facilities at the property. Sadly however, these scores are mainly based on the fact we paid 160 supplement for use of the hot tub which we were unable to use due to a known fault in the pump. Despite multiple calls and messages from the first day that we arrived this wasn't rectified, and our complaints were continually dismissed. The awful noise from the filterpump could be heard throughout the property, making sitting out and enjoying the garden impossible, not to mention not being able to actually use the hot tub as advertised. Very disappointed with the hot tub facility and the way the situation has been handled by SykesNCCC and we are currently in the middle of a complaint case where we are sharing the video evidence we have from our stay.
Fantastic propertyreally well equipped, fabulous rooms and great location. Lovely garden and Spa pool. Quite a rush to leave on Friday with cleaners waiting outside at 9.05 am adding to the pressure. Quite expensive for a week but an exceptional holiday experience All the guests including the dogs loved it.
Fabulous holiday home with plenty of space and facilities to entertain families whatever the weather, including table tennis, table top football and airhockey, pool, and an outdoor hottub. Very clean in the main. Comfy beds. Linen and towels provided. Fabulous pub and The Running Fox bakery in the village is a must! My first holiday in Northumberland and I loved it. Will definitely be back. The castles and beaches are amazing. Loads to do!! Thank you.
Had a great week lots to do around the area, only problem is the lounge TV could do with updating. The main problem was there was no slip mat in the upstairs shower.
Christopher
Spacious, well appointed, well presented, ideal location for walking and visiting castles. Garden neat and tidy. Everything working. Excellent bakery and food in village and a popup pub. A barbecue would have been a useful addition.
Matthew
Fantastic property, brilliant for big families or group of friends. Would love to stay again one day.

We had a lovely time at the property. I had booked this for a 40th birthday weekend getaway with friends. The house was great for this occasion and we all loved the hot tub and the village of Felton is lovely. The property is only a few minutes walk from the Northumberland Arms and Running Fox, we ate at both and I would highly recommend. The only thing that would stop me booking this house again is the check in time and the check out time. You cannot get into the house until 5pm and you have to be out by 9.30am. I think at least an hour should be added on to both of these. A few minor points that we found a bit annoying were they expect you to clear up dishes etc and any mess which is fine, but no dishwasher tablets were provided and only one bin bag. Most places I have stayed like this previously would at least provide a few dishwasher tablets and more than one bin bag. Other than that though the stay was really pleasant.

A great place to stay, secure and spacious. Would suit families or group of friends. Lovely area. Love the Log Burner! Helps if you take laptop to connect Sky Go if needed. Try the Northumberland Arms fantastic! and The Running Foxes book correct one as there are three!. Only things Id feed back on are the entry and leave times seem very late and too early. Would prefer 4pm arrival and 10.30am leave time in line with all other cottages weve rented.
Property is in a lovely location and configuration worked well for our group. Some minor maintenance issues that we left detail of for the management company details that they may not have discovered eg cooler hood light not working, corkscrew not working and a need for a new set of kitchen knives. Hopefully these have been rectified for future guests. We had a really enjoyable and comfortable stay and would like to return.

We had a fantastic stay. The house was everything we thought it would be & more. Have gone to a lot of trouble to make it homely. Very clean & very well equipped. If I had to say anything negative it would be an information book of what is around the area, supermarkets near by etc. also could of had a better Christmas tree & certainly in the lounge as well as dining room, but thats personal choice, certainly not a reflection on the house. Will certainly return & hopefully in the summer months
An excellent property in a beautiful village, however, sadly let down by the state of cleanliness and attention to detail. On arrival it was obvious hoovering had not been done properly. The large black beam up the stairs to the attic room was covered in thick dust, as were numerous windowsills about the property. The vacuum didnt work and was left half filled with dust. There were no logs or kindling for the fire when there should have been! Listing A hearth set would have been appreciated but there was none provided. The ironing board was broken and could not stand up. There were no soaps in all the hand wash dispensers in any of the three bathrooms. We contacted NCCC by phone to complain about the lack of woodsoap and vacuum cleaner REF NO COR351518CF Dated 101123 A lady arrived the following morning with a replacement vacuum, some wood and kindling and soap. She also gave us a bottle of wine to accompany her profuse appologies which was much appreciated. Clearly the cleaning company is not doing its job properly, including supervision. This seems to be a common issue with this property reading others past reviews! On a more positive note we found the property warm and comfortable with ample room for 7 of us and overall was well equipped. The hot tub was a definite bonus in the cold weather and was well maintained. Next doors dog fouled on the driveway in front of our cars, we cleaned it up, this has happened before according to previous reviews. We would still however recommend this lovely house and area as a place to holiday.
Oozes quality in every respect. Only issue was that the toaster did not work.
Stella
The holiday property was very spacious, ideally suited us for locational visits, comfortable and relaxing Facilities were good but we found the vacuum cleaner was not working, contacted Sykes who arranged for caretaker to visit, he did and loaned us one of his own. Cleanliness of property not found to be the greatest cobwebs in our room and dust on shelves in kitchen, wooden floors although looked clean my socks and children's feet from walking on them were not too clean Attic room the floor in front of shower very unsteady There was a lovely selection of books, the seating was most comfortable and the hot tub used by the family was checked regularly and the service person friendly and acknowledged Overall we had a wonderful holiday and would stay at Treetops again
Catherine
We loved the size and space of the property and was great for our family. Just a couple of niggles which could easily be put right. The surrounding area was great including great cafe and pub.
It was awful. Very dirty, not safe and a long list of maintenance issues. Can not believe we spent way over 2k on this house. We have never been so disappointed with a holiday house. So many previous guests have written in the guest book with the same comments but nothing has been done.We will be looking to leave reviews online somewhere that other potential guests can see so that no one wastes their own money in the future like we did.
Jacqueline
Lovely property in a great location sadly in need of a good clean inside and out
Treetops cottage is very spacious and well maintained. Lovely quiet area with a great pub in walking distance. My only negative comment is that it would have been nice to have something to wash up with like a cloth and some washing up liquid and maybe a dishwasher tablet or two until we could buy some. We have found that these are usually in a welcome pack but this cottage doesnt supply one. This would not stop me booking again as I am now aware and would bring some with me.
Jacqueline
Beautiful property in a stunning location. Everything we needed was provided from champagne flutes to a book case full of books. It was an unexpected pleasure to find the house had been decorated for Christmas too. Im sure we will be back.
Amazing property on gorgeous setting hot tub was fab worked like a dream Something for all the family highly recommend
What an amazing property. So much space and the hot tub was fantastic. Beautiful location for visiting other areas.
Amazing property in lovely location! Really felt at home and comfortable. We all enjoyed the hot tub, pool room and the kids having their own space TV games room. Felton is lovely with excellent pub Northumberland Arms and cafe. Great walks for dog too! Will be back!
Accommodation excellent, hot tub worth the extra, good location for the whole area and local village.

Cragside House and Gardens - NE65 7PX
about 7 Miles
Cragside House and Gardens (National Trust) are a popular Northumberland attraction with a beautiful stately home and gorgeous grounds to explore. The rhododendron labyrinth is a unique and fun addition to the grounds and there is also an adventure playground where children can let of steam. It is the stunning scenery that attracts most of the visitors though with many bringing a picnic for a relaxing family day out. The house itself hosts exhibits which change regularly. World of the Water Wizard is currently on display.
Alnwick Castle and Gardens - NE66 1NQ
about 8 Miles
Alnwick Castle and Gardens today are perhaps best known for their roles as Hogwarts in Harry Potter movies but have for many years been a family favourite attraction in Northumberland. The beautiful medieval castle is open to the public and during school holidays and at Christmas and Halloween a range of activities can be enjoyed including Santa's Workshop, a Pumpkin Parade, Spell Making Lessons and Owl and Bird of Prey Flying.
Go Ape Northumberland - NE48 1NT
about 20 Miles
Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
