Wooden Hare Reviews

Emily
The place is really well set upand the balcony offers such gorgeous views. The hot tub was a great way to relax after all the hiking we did. The second bedroom wasn’t ready for two kids when we arrived, but the owner was really easy to get hold of and sorted it fast. Quiet spot with nice walks nearby, definitely recommend!
Emma

We had such a lovely weekend at this lodge! The place is really well kitted out and feels quite luxurious. It’s perfect for dog owners since everything’s secureand there’s a small grassy patch outside for the pups. The location is spot on for gorgeous walks or just chilling in the hot tub and soaking up the views. We’ve already told a few friends about it and definitely want to come back ourselves. Highly recommend if you’re after a relaxing break!
Oliver
We had a lovely stay at this charming wooden cottage, perfect for three of us plus our dog. The bedrooms were comfy and the bathroom was fantastic, with both a bath and a shower-luxury! The kitchen was well equipped, though the limited storage was a bit of a pain. The hot tub with views over the fields and horses was just what we needed to relax. Plenty to explore nearby, like the heritage railway between Leyburn and Bedale, which is a real highlight!

This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire.  Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour.  You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals.  Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.
Lightwater Valley - HG4 3HT

Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family.  The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower.  For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel.  Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.

This is an outstanding world heritage site located close to Ripon in the North Yorkshire area. Nature lovers will be in their element with an abundance of wide open spaces to explore and there are special guided tours for families.  Some of the highlights may include seeing wild deer and bats during your visit.  The grounds are fantastic to wander round but there is also an Elizabethan Mansion, Victorian Church, Georgian Water Garden and the finest example of Cistercian Abbey ruins in the country - Well worth a visit!
