The Old Manor House Reviews

We have just returned from a lovely stay at The Old Manor House. We all couldve quite easily have move in! Such a beautiful house, extremely well equipped with everything we could possibly need. The beds were extremely comfortable, dont think weve ever slept so well on holiday! The children enjoyed using the pool table and Xbox in the evening
Fantastic house, perfect for a big family. Wonderful garden and hot tub. Location great everything within 1hr of house. The owner Jeanette is really helpful and accomodating. Highly recommended xx
The house is lovely with lots of space. Our family party of 10 ranged from age nearly 2 to 70 and we were very comfortable. The reason we are only giving a 4 star is because the hot tub was not working for most of our week.we ere given a small refund in compensation but it was still s disappointment.
The Old Manor House was lovey, comfortable and well equipped. The gardens were fabulous with lots of different seating areas and the hot tub and pool table were brilliant. Dogs are only allowed in the kitchen and hall which was not explained in original listing. We got round this by using throws on the carpets and sofas with the agreement of the owner prior to arrival. We would definitely stay here again.
Lovely location. Great family venue.
Beautiful property well positioned and wonderful hosts , couldnt ask for more.
We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house. We were met on arrival by Jeanette who gave us an insightful guide of things to do in and around the area. Theres plenty of walks around the local village and within a 30 minute drive there are beaches, castles and picturesque coastal villages to explore. There was Enough to entertain 3 lively boys, one dog and a very exhausted mum and dad. The hot tub was an added a bonus and got plenty of use. We will definitely be returning and would recommend.
Great location for Dartmoor, the coast, Golitha Falls and Lydford Gorge. Many walking and biking opportunities nearby. We ran out of time and hope to return. Very spacious house and Covid appropriate.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this lovely house but the television and DVD player were a problem. The lady who met us on arrival tried to assist us by messages but it would have been helpful to know that there was no terrestrial TV at the outset and programmes were only available via iplayers. There was no DVD player so films were only available on Netflix if you have a subscription which we don't. There was a game player but for the uninitiated we couldn't use it to play DVDs. The instructions left for the house were not up to date. We were also disappointed that there was an expectation to vacuum and clean floors at the end of the week. We did not feel that this was part of Covid rules and felt used. We did comply but this took away from our last day of the holiday.
The Old Manor House was very clean, organised, peaceful, and large for a group of 10. We all had sufficient space to enjoy the house and the gardens. Well maintained and thoughtfully decorated. Kitchen was well equipped. Heating and hot water worked very well. We were able to get the cleaner to do additional days during our stay which made it more relaxing and welcoming home to return to after a long day of activities.
Amanda
The cottage and owner were both lovely.
