About Four Owls At Rosehill Lodges

Enjoying a leafy location on the outskirts of the idyllic village of Porthtowan, this delightful cottage offers fresh, welcoming accommodation for up to six guests, and has been beautifully updated to make a fantastic retreat for eager walkers, beach fans and nature watchers exploring a stunning part of West Cornwall. Part of a friendly complex of eleven charming holiday homes, this characterful hideaway is ideally situated for discovering the area’s beautiful beaches, charming coves and tranquil woodland valleys.

A steep slope leads up to this pretty cottage which has a sweet lounge and a lovely snug, each with comfortable seating, a Smart TV and a welcoming wood burner for you to unwind in front of. Low doorways lead through to a fully equipped kitchen, and there’s a handy ground-floor shower room, perfect for washing away the sand after trips to the nearby beach.

Heading upstairs, you will find three fresh and spacious bedrooms: a cosy double, a charming twin and a relaxing king-size room, all with picturesque woodland views. The cottage also features a refreshing family bathroom.

Stepping outside, the private garden features a patio, a BBQ and a swing seat, making a lovely spot for dining alfresco within the surrounding woodland setting. A meandering woodland walk leads up to a loveseat with views out to sea.

Porthtowan occupies a stunning spot along the Cornwall coast, with three gorgeous beaches and a unique mermaid pool – a vast rockpool which is unveiled at low tide. The village also offers a range of great places to eat and drink, with a coastal path offering chances to glimpse seals, dolphins and basking sharks.

Other local attractions, many relating to the area’s mining heritage, include Cornwall Gold and Tolgus Mill, Enys Gardens, the King Edward Mine Museum, Wheal Ellen and John’s Pumping Engine House, all within 12 miles.

The Rock Gardens Caves and Nursery have an amazing setting in the old Palace Quarry. The gardens offer an abundance of trees, plants and floral displays including a very grand 80ft Elm Tree and a stunning Weeping Ash. The site also offers a large carp pond, a breathtaking illuminated cave and a tea room serving tasty local produce.

Paradise Park first opened its doors in Cornwall in 1973 and has been one of the regions top attractions ever since. What was once just a tropical bird garden is now a refuge for many different species of animal and aims to be educational as well as fun for its visitors. Dairyland Farm World - TR8 5AA

Open from end March to end October this is a lovely attraction suited to families with kids of all ages.  You don't need to worry about the weather either as this is an all weather attraction with the addition of soft play areas and a ball pool for the little ones.  Some of the highlights include the Bull Pen indoor play area, the Raging Bulls Ride, Pat-aPet and the Mini tractors.  Of course there is also the opportunity to get up close to the farm animals and try some bottle feeding.

Look out for seasonal events too such as the Fire in the Sky event on 27th October 2010 - discount advance tickets are available for most of the events so don't forget to check out their website.  Some of the most popular thrill rides include the first Twisting Droptower in the UK called the Skyraker 001.  The Hornert Rollercoaster is also not to be missed.
