Hallstead Reviews

We enjoyed our stay, the place was lovely. Think an a toilet upstairs would be really handy, apart from that you couldn't fault the place.
Fantastic garden and facilities. Great location for beach and Skegness. Nice birthday treat for hubby
We would not recommend this place the fact that there are 10 concrete steps to get down to ground level and no hand rails the shower had no slip mats or grab rails for the older people to hold on to shower over bath did not work basically we could go on but we were totally disappointed with our holiday having spoken to the owners they say its Sykes problem and Sykes say its the owners problem so the only ones who lose out are 3 older people over the age of 70and one being disabled I am very reluctant to book with Sykes again.

Had great time in this lovely house, would definitely recommend and short driving distance to what we wanted to do. Just off busy road but didn't hear traffic at night time.

We had a lovely time at Hallstead it is a lovely house with everything you could wish for. The outside space is amazing and we spent plenty of time in the grounds with it being very sunny for our break. It felt very secure being behind the large fences with entrances bolted from the inside so the children could just run around. The zip wire was fabulous, a great addition to the play area, there was everything a child could want for outside play. please mention to the owner but do not publish this bit. The zip link bed mattress were not the same high quality as the other beds which was a shame, the can opener does not work not a problem a just bought one but you might like to know for future guests. thanks you for a great stay
Rebecca
Loved our stay here at Hallstead. The outside areas are fantastic, kids loved the zipline and games room and the grass area was a great size for the kids and dog. It's a great garden, lovely and quiet. The house was really clean and is just like the pictures on the website. There is only one downstairs bathroom but we knew this at the time of booking but it's a good size and we made it work without any issues. We had three cars in total and roadside parking was never an issue down the quiet one way street. My only recommendation would be a larger saucepan or two in the kitchen. Steve was a great host, very approachable and quick to respond to any queries. Would certainly stay here again.
Our reported minor problems were resolved quickly by Steve, Thankyou. However be aware only one toilet in the house with bath and shower albeit a lovely big one!. Also it's location downstairs is problematic during the night for youngsters and the less able bodied. Plenty of gadgets, games and gimmicks incl sauna and hot tub. Good location on North end of Skegness. Be aware of adjacent main road noise for all bedrooms. Great Garden for children and pet dogs. Good WiFi and fabulous TV. However, more seating is required if more than 5 persons watching it. Be aware no clothes storage in main bedroom. Some drawers in second kingsize bedroom, most storage in children's room where large wardrobe is situated. Great kitchen, great appliances and cooker. However we found on warmhot days newly hatched flying bugs welcomed us home in the kitchen inside the patio door. Overall 45 for us.
The property is ideally located and perfectly equipped for families, the owners were quick to respond to any query we had and made us feel very welcome, we had an absolutely lovely stay and intend to return. Thank you.
Our stay at the house was just we needed a break away with the dogs also safe ... Our stay at the house was just we needed a break away with the dogs also safe for them to run around ,fantastic location, quiet , would recommend, thanks
Lovely property, it was tricky to find and access is via a one way street so if you miss it you have to go all the way round again. Kitchen was very well equipped, even had a Ninja air fryer. Outside space was lovely, hot tub and sauna both great. I would suggest taking a gazebo for the hot tub if the forecast is bad, then you can take full advantage. Property was lovely inside, just a few niggles It wasnt mentioned anywhere that there is a settee bed in the conservatory. There were only 6 dining room chairs, the table expanded to seat 8 there were only 6 of us so maybe thats why?. Only room for 5 to sit in lounge. No bedside tables in bedrooms I like a lamp on one and somewhere to put my clock, book etc. Im being very picky here and overall we loved the property and the owner was very helpful but its always worth giving a bit of feedback!
The property was better than expected. So spacious warm and clean. It was a struggle to find but thanks to a local residents assistance all was made clear.
Leanne
Fantastic propery. Well decorated, clean and spacious. Lots of room outside in different areas. The kids areas was brilliant and the games room. We visited in December so unfortunately couldnt use the conservatory as it was too cold. The owners were very friendly and accommodating and left us a gift. The Christmas decorations were a lovely touch too. Super comfy king size beds and a great shower. We would definitely return and recommend.
Me and my family stayed here for my 30th birthday and it was amazing we will definitely book again and have been recommending that are friends and family book here too. On the day we arrived we found that the placed had been decorated for Halloween which my daughter absolutely loved. Its little details like this that really do make your feel appreciated. The house was exactly as advertised but some how was even better than we thought it would be. Its the prefect place to go to get its nice and quiet but also not too far away from local attractions and also the sea front. So I would 1000 recommend to everyone.
Parking an issue limited parking ,garage unusable due to inconsiderate parking. Lack of drawers in main bedroom only 3 small drawers, one wardrobe in bunk bed room for all 3 bedrooms.
Angela
Lovely property, really spacious and owners helpful with everything we needed, would def recommend
5 star holiday home
Lovely hosts who cant do enough for you. Best hot tub we have been in as the jets were very powerfull on full. Lovely home with a fantastic garden and lovely dog walks near by. Such a relaxing break as very hot so the bedroom fan was fantastic and so quiet. They even had a floor fan downstairs for the dog and he loved it as he was very warm. Lovely big comfortable bed so we slept very well. Would book again. many thanks
Lovely holiday home. would defo book again. very good hottub and ideal location
Halstead Skegness Lovely place very nicely done out Large garden and very close to the beach Although on a main road Was ok but with small ones be very vigilant And there are steps down to the property or a very steep slope for access. The steps are however covered with a spongey tarmac. I didnt read the small print very well!!!! There is only one bathroom. As the accommodation is for 8 people would advise if possibly another toilet at least could be put in somewhere???? Always a bug bare with me, bathroom towels need to be larger like bath sheets. Also there could have been a few more children friendly, cups, plates etc for outside use. We enjoyed our stay here very comfortable, the conservatory space was great, along side the garden. Hot tub and sauna were great too.
Really good property in a good area access to all
Richard
Very helpful hosts. Great cottage in a great location. Loved the games room and the saunahot tub area. House was excellent. Highly recommend
We were really disappointed with this stay. As wed only booked for 2 nights and it was advertised with a hot tub, we were hoping to be able to use it both days. However, on arrival, it was switched off and on 13 degrees so we had to wait almost 24 hours for it to get to temperature and were asked to not use it past 8pm and therefore barely had time to use it. It was not well equipped re towels etc only 4 and we had 6 adults. We also were not given access to the off road parking, key fob was offered to us at 9pm the night before we left so had to park further from the property. No air hockey table as advertised. The garden is beautiful and spacious, and the property was clean on arrival, we did feel very let down by facilities as hot tub was the main reason we chose this property, wont be returning.
Matthew
The property was great highly recommended, but I would not use Sykes again as the information in the ad was incorrect, information in the key collection email was also wrong, and I was wrongly informed of the availability certain amenities at the property. I spoke to the owner regarding the key collection information from Sykes, he said Sykes had known of the change to the key safe combination for some time, but just hadn't bothered to update their records.

Natureland Seal Sanctuary - PE25 1DB
about 0 Miles
Awarded the Lincolnshire Family Attraction of the Year award in recent years this fun day out is recommended. You can see seals and penguins, as well as other animals in the popular pets corner.  Feeding time for the seals and penguins is the real highlight of the day. Entertainment, education and conservation are the main aims of this attraction. Natureland's work with abandoned baby seals has become known worldwide and it's carefully researched rearing and treatment program is now used by many other rescue centres.
Rushmoor Country Park - GU10 1ET
about 19 Miles
Located in Louth in Lincolnshire this is an ideal attraction when you want to get out in the fresh air and explore. There are many animals to see including ponies and piglets which the little ones love.  There are also some amazing birds from hawks and falcons to owls.  Most aspects of this attraction are included in the admission cost and as well as wandering around you get to hold and feed the animals too.  A real highlight are the micro pigs which are just like real pigs but in miniature.  Fully grown they are around the size of a spaniel!  If you get hungry then you can take your own picnic to the picnic areas or head for the tea room selling delicious food and children's meals too.
Pleasure Island - DN35 0PL
about 29 Miles
Wow this is an amazing family theme park and you will probably need the full day to experience it all.  From thrilling rides to family shows, kids of all ages are catered for.  Some of the most popular rides include the Obliterator and The Pendulus, not forgetting the Hypoblaster.   Family shows are entertaining such as the African Acrobat Show which is back by popular demand.  Entrance tickets are good value and if you book online you will receive a discount. To save even more money if you live locally or are visiting the area for a few weeks you could buy a season ticket for around £50 which will allow you entry for the whole season.
