Kingfisher Retreat Reviews

Nadine
We stayed in the kingfisher lodge & had a great stay. The lodge was well equipped with everything that was needed and cleanliness was perfect. Nice quiet location and very relaxing. We enjoyed the outdoor areas as well as the hot tub but also found the games in the lodge to be fun and handy on a rainy day. Thank you very much for a lovely break.
Colin
Everything you needed was in this cottage. It was a great place to stay very comfortable and user friendly even for a 93 year old with slight mobility issues
Jay
Peaceful location, nice get away from it all without feeling completely cut off. We enjoyed visiting National Trust properties and Shrewsbury then returning to the retreat and walking or playing tennis in the evenings. Kingfisher was very well equipped and extremely spacious. Four bedrooms with ensuites are great when you have three adult children!Read more A few minor issues that need addressing in order to be truly 5*. Hide
Ronald
The accommodation was first class and set in a nice location. The local villages have good pub restaurants and further afield interesting places to visit such as Llangollen and Ellesmere. Any minor problems we had were quickly resolved by the owners, resulting in a very enjoyable stay.
Janet
Lovely lodge, exactly what we needed for a group if 8 friends (4 couples) getting together . There were a few things not working correctly and issues with equipment but nothing that could spoil our weekend
Frederick
Beautifully appointed lodge, with a few minor issues. Set in a rural environment. Lots to do in the surrounding area within an acceptable travel distance.
Katie
Loved it was a lovely place beds really comfy , will definitely be back
Andrea
Lovely lodge very spacious clean and comfortable beds.
Courtney
Beautiful place, definitely good for a peace trip and lots to keep the children busy! The only issues we had was the WiFi, definitely worth downloading bits for the kids before handing before. Amazing restaurant around, didnt have one bad meal. Dealt with the owns once and they was absolutely amazing, extremely kind and helpful, cant wait to return next year.
Helen
3 generations enjoyed w/end celebrations. Good sized lodge for 8 with decking, BBQ & seated area. Play area was a great hit. Location ideal to wander into village. Some areas of the lodge appear slightly tired & would benefit upgrade eg large rug in lounge. Attractive low backed sofas, but not comfortable for 2 with bad backs. With 8 occupants sugg est further undercounter fridge in utility.
Hayley
Great place to stay we had a few issues with cleaning but overall mostly clean . Location was great . The lodge has lots of space and the grounds were spotless . We are looking into booking again next year as we had such a lovely stay .
Harinder

Yvonne
Kingfisher Lodge is a really lovely place, absolutely ideal for family get togethers. The Hot Tub is a bonus.
Linda
Lovely location, lovely facilities & helpful staff. Would recommend. The walk to the village is mainly road so need to take care. Anyone with poor mobility can request a ramp for ease of access. We were a group of six with one member with mobility issues. Would definitely return.
Vanessa
The location is central for days out in both Shropshire and Wales. The four ensuites are a real bonus. The size of the veranda can only be appreciated when staying at the property and with part of it being covered it can also be used when raining. The same can be said of the hot tub. The four lodges on the private park are well spaced out and do no t overlook each other. There are two good Italian restaurants in Oswestry, Lepones and Prezzo, and both have a take away menu.
Natalie
We loved our stay at the kingfisher lodge. It was a wonderful family holiday had by all and we would definitely return.
Andrew
Excellent well equipped accommodation for family get together in beautiful surroundings. Would certainly recommend.
Katy

Perfect siz e for our group of 8.
Jenny

Jane
The accommodation is luxury. A fantastic little spot in the countryside, so quiet and tranquil. Having a hot tub to relax in was superb. A great place to get away to, relax and enjoy friends and family company. We will be back.
Vivien
