Sam
Lovely quiet area with a hot tub

We celebrated our anniversary here recently, and it was absolutely amazing. Everything was nice and clean, and the fondue set and prosecco was a lovely touch to top it all off. We only wish we could have stayed longer, the views were spectacular. We only wish we would've had time to fill in the guest book. We will definitely be back next year, and Read morebe equipped with milk, us Yorkshire folk do love our cuppas. Thankyou very much for our fabulous stay Hide
Josie
Lovely view, hot tub was lovely, nice stay, shame it wasn't a bit bigger but very cosy.
Oliver

This location is a must. I highly recommend these shepards huts. Cozy, comfortable, beautiful views to wake up to. The sheep are extremely friendly, I actually had one lay next to me on the ground and I was scratching behind its ears for about an hour. We've stayed twice so far, we're already looking at booking next year for our 3rd year in a row. Read moreYou certainly do get your money worth at Deepdale Hide

Situated just outside Patterdale, near Ullswater, the huts are ideally situated on a working sheep farm. Whilst small, they contain everything you'd need and are well insulated and double glazed so you'll be warm and cozy with an electric heater to take the chill off. On the one windy night, the hut was rock solid so you won't get seasick! CruciallRead morey each hut has its own WiFi as this is an area with no mobile phone signal. Walks along Deepdale start from your front door. Great stay. Hide

Fantastic location and property. Could not fault it. Lovely welcome gifts. Wood for bbq and fire, amazing views, sheep for pets, (almost), especially love the lamb that looks like its wearing a balaclava! Just a gentle (and sometimes hard) walk from the shops, pubs and ullswater, patterdale, glenridding, place fell, grisedale valley and much more. Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 1 Mile
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 5 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 16 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 23 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 25 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 26 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
