A lovely lodge where every comfort has been thought of. It is so very tranquil, away from the maddening crowd. Hot tub superb and so well maintained every day. Dog walks from the door and wonderful scenery. Really impressed that lodge and patio etc were so clean everything to a very high standard. A great holiday.

This is a beautiful lodge in a perfectly secluded area. It was relatively easy to find and we were welcome with a lovely 'welcome pack'. The lodge was spotless with a well equipped kitchen and good quality furnishings and linen. We had a lovely relaxing week and the dogs loved walking about the area. I would definitely return.
Sara

Robert
We booked this short break for my wife and I with our 2 dogs. Initial impressions were that this is a high-quality, dog safe property in a great location overlooking the sea. All equipment in the kitchen and main living area were very good and all necessary cooking items are provided. A nice welcome pack with wine, shortbread, treats, etc. were theRead morere. Nice walks right outside the lodge & a lovely hot tub included. Only disappointment was the low flow in the shower. We will return!!! Hide

Lovely lodge, very well equipped! Ideal for completion seclusion as it is isolated, so a car and desire to travel is essential! Owner was really helpful before we arrived!
Andrew
Stunning location that felt really isolated and private. Really enjoyed our time here. The dogs could wander in and out thanks to the gated patio surrounding the property and the view was beautiful to wake up to each morning. Did a beautiful walk just over 7km over the cliffs. Would highly recommend for a quiet, peaceful getaway.
Lindsay
What a lovely holiday, the little touches for the dogs and us were brilliant. Very remote location, ideal for chilling in the hottub. Lodge has everything you could want and The dogs loved it too.
David
Excellent. Very clean and well presented in a great peaceful and relaxing setting
Tannia
Beautiful and tranquil
Gordon
This is an outstanding property, excellently equipped and with lovely modern-design indoor and outdoor areas. It is remarkably spacious for two and well deserves its luxury rating. It is beautifully located right next to the sea but well away from roads so is wonderfully peaceful, with great views. The only drawback is that the shoreline itself is rocky and not really accessible , but there is a lovely coastal path right outside. The community shop in the nearby village is excellent.
Natasha
Beautiful location with idyllic views with lots of dog friendly walks and sites to visit.
Patricia
I wish I could keep this place a secret. Location was wonderful. Peaceful and tranquil. Even wanted to book again for August, but unfortunately already all booked up. There is nothing not catered for. Dog & humans well equipped for. Extra touches really appreciated, I will leave some surprises. Wonderful holiday, would not hesitate to recommend thi s
John

Rascarrel Bay lodges are perfectly situated on the coast for a relaxing and picturesque break away. Modern, well equipped and cosy, we will definitely be back in the near future. Chris & Raechel
Karen
Idyllic, peaceful location. The property is spotlessly clean with high quality facilities. Very thoughtful welcome packs for both humans and dogs. The owners are thoughtful and showed compassion for my dog who had a bit of a fright one night ( - nothing within the owners control.,or to do with them). I would certainly recommend and have rebooked an other stay.
Brian
Lovely lodge in a secluded place that meet all our expectations. All the facilities you would expect at the highest standar. Will definitely be back
Valerie
Fabulous spot - even in bad weather, theres something magical about it. Only down side is theres nowhere in walking distance for a meal - you either have to shop and eat in or be prepared for no alcohol and drive!
Louise
An absolutey beautiful place to stay. The lodge was perfect, the location, the layout, the facilities all perfect. The cleanliness of the place was superb and we could not have wished for a better place to relax. We cant wait to go back. Thank you to Mr & Mrs McTaggert and the team.
Michael
Cant recommend this accommodation highly enough. Spotlessly clean, perfectly situated, a view to die for.
Michelle
It's amazing ....all the little touches to a very high standard could never fault anything about it. Loved the morning service that the hottub was provided daily. They thought of everything that you needed. We have only just come back and will be booking this weekend for next year.
Stephen
A superbly finished and equipped lodge in a lovely quiet area right next to the sea. Really relaxing and quiet. I cant wait to return.
John
Great location and very comfortable. If you are not a dog person then be prepared for the associated noise.
Alison
Excellent accommodation. Lovely welcome gifts for us and a special welcome for our four legged friend. Everything had been thought of. Really appreciated the outside seating options and hot tub. Idyllic to sit under colour changing lights with only the sound of the waves in the background. So relaxing, tranquil and silent by day and night.
Jane
Its ideal if you are looking for peace and quiet. The lodge was spotless including the spacious patio area. The chocolates, wine and flowers just made it perfect x Thank you from Jane, mick and Bella
David
First class in every way. So peceful and comfortable and ideally pleased to visit many places in the local area
Suzanne
If you want a deluxe property with beautiful views, lovely walks do not hesitate to book. We enjoyed every minute, the owners were lovely. What can I see but 5 stars all the way. We would love to return.
Deborah
Wow. The pictures on the website look amazing, but it is even better when you arrive. The lodge lacks for nothing; it is light, airy, warm and comfortable. The views are stunning, so much to look at but so peaceful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, used the hot tub most afternoons, drove to a few nearby places for local delicacies (the scallops in K ircudbright are to die for) but mostly sat and watched the waves or walked along the seashore marveling at the wild flowers and birds. Just wow.
Ian
Superb in every way! The photos look great. The reality is just as good Lying the hot tub looking out over the Solway was brilliant - especially when a Crow harassed a passing Red Kite! We'd recommend Kircudbright, especially Broughton House (NTS) and the Galloway Hoard exhibition at the Art Gallery. Red Kite feeding at Bellymack Farm was spectacul ar!
Carol
We had a most wonderful and relaxing holiday, the lodge was immaculate. The sea front position next to the beach was amazing with lots of lovely walks for us and our little dogs. The hot tub was tremendous adding a bit of luxury to our stay.

We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.

Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD

We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
