Five Elements Barn Reviews

Fabulous Accommodation
What fabulous accommodation. Everything you need.. not far from anywhere .. nice and quiet? owner very accommodating.. just perfect
Lovely holiday accommodation in a quiet location
Five Elements barn is, clearly, a barn conversion on the same site as the owner's property but it is quiet and peaceful and if you happen to bump into them, they are a lovely couple and extremely helpful. The property is upside down as is common in Cornwall: bedrooms downstairs and living upstairs. Downstairs has two large single bedrooms and a family bathroom. There is also a washing machine, dryer and a freezer unit. The stairs are immediately in front of you when you open the front door and they lead up and into a small kitchen area which is fully equipped. There is a small dining table and chairs for 4 and a small living area. Off the kitchen is a small shower / toilet and a double bedroom. If you are used to larger rooms in your own home, this all feels small when you first enter but it quickly becomes apparent that it's all you need for a holiday and is perfectly adequate for 4 or 5 people. Double bedroom has little room to change and there's just enough room to walk around the bed. There is a good sized chest of drawers and an open unit for hanging clothes. Most importantly here is that I got a good night's sleep. I don't care about much else as long as it is clean and tidy which it was. If the bed is comfortable and I wake up feeling I've had a good sleep, I'm happy with the accommodation. Inside there is everthing you need with the exception of a dishwasher. Wifi is not fast but stable and enough for most things. I was able to remote into servers I manage and pick up all emails. Outside, there is a super area for relaxing, BBQ'ing, dining and roasting marshmellows. Our kids loved it and used it daily. There is nothing within walking distance that I was aware of. We had to jump in the car to grab food and drinks but the drive is short and easy. There are a couple of pubs close by: The Miner's Arms in Mithian and The Chiverton Arms at Chiverton Cross. Both serve good food have reasonable inside seating and beer gardens. Other than those, you are into St. Agnes and Porthtowan. The property is down some narrow country lanes, a little off the beaten track but there is plenty of parking. We all enjoyed our holiday and would happily rebook.
Great Last Minute Get Away
We absolutely love Cornwall but not visited this part. The Barn is great the kitchen, bedrooms & bathrooms are very clean & a bonus in having a king size bed & pooch friendly accommodation. Nothing is any trouble for Sari & Oli such a nice family. The information that Sari sends you to help your holiday go smoothly is fantastic. Thank you for a great break
Lovely stay. Fabulous hot tub and outside area. Everything there that you need for a great stay.
This is a fantastic barn with amazing owners. We were let down by a poor lodge and were so lucky to get this barn at the last minute. What a breath of fresh air this accommodation is, one of the best we have stayed in. The location is ideal and very close to Newquay, brilliant accommodation comprising of really good size bedrooms and a good sized living area and kitchen. The furnishings are brilliant and the items in the barn for everyday use are of top quality. You can have fresh farm eggs everyday a must lovely walks and such a peaceful setting. 1010 ps the owners are amazing people
This is our third visit and once again we loved it.
Fabulous property in an amazing location. Great for touring Cornwall. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The cottage was well equipped and the covered outside space with hot tub over looking the hills was a lovely addition. Thank you for an amazing holiday
We had a good family week in the BARN, outdoor area was great, friendly hosts.
Andrew
Had a lovely stay there, lovely and quiet and central where I wanted to go . Lovely and clean had everything I wanted at the place. And owner Sari Was so helpful and friendly and would go again .
We had a lovely stay, cosying down in the barn during the lashing rain and it was a great base for visiting lots of attractions in Cornwall. Would highly recommend. Thank you very much to our hosts who made us feel very welcome!
Jacqueline
Absolutely perfect beautiful property. . everything you could possibly need .. not far from the beaches we will be back xx
Thank you for a fabulous stay, booked five elements barn to go away with my parents and older children. The barn was well equipped with everything you needed to be able to have a home from home experience. The hosts were were helpful and on hand but not intrusive. Would highly recommend.
Dennis
We have just come back from a lovely stay in five elements. It is a very quiet location with only the chickens in the background. They're lovely sound was wonderful to listen to and we also bought some eggs from the little hen house. Our lively grandson could make all the noise he wanted without disturbing other holiday makers. The hot tub was very welcomed after each day at the various beaches. We would thoroughly recommend staying in the five with it's easy location to drive to other locations.
What a lovely place to stay! The location is so peaceful but still very close to all the beaches we wanted to go to. The accommodation was lovely and clean and very well equipped. We would definitely recommend!
What a lovely barn run by the loveliest of people Oli & Sari. We booked this property on the day of going and they could not have put themselves out any more than they did. The beds in all rooms were so comfortable my daughter the morning after arriving did not want to get up. New Years Eve in the outhouse was furnished lovely with chairs and tables and a firepit for toasting marshmallows. They even arranged more fairy lighting so that the evening could be more enjoyed. This property was also pet friendly and we was not let down by this either. I must say that we cannot wait to visit again. Martin, Janis & Co.
The collection of properties are set in an idyllic location amongst trees and green space, yet just a few minutes away from the main roads. Communication with the owner was excellent and they accommodated our request to stay an additional night. The barn had everything we needed for a week's stay, it was perfectly clean, had super comfy beds and comfortable living areas. The only downside was that it didn't have a garden to speak of. The outdoor seating area, which I'm sure would have been lovely in the warmer months, was detached from the property. My dog could not be let off the lead so this was a minor inconvenience for us. Overall a fantastic stay and even the weather wasn't too horrible for October half term... Would definitely recommend.
Only negative is, one of the beds was not very comfortable. We anticipated being inland but not so far out. Our host was friendly , helpful and generous .
Hosts Sari & Ollie gave us a warm welcome and made us feel comfortable all through out our 2 week stay. Barn set in such a tranquil setting yet you dont feel cut out as the beaches and shops are within 10 minute drive.
Beverley
Beautiful property. Clean and tidy, Kitchen fully equipped with everything you could need. Owners where lovely.
Sari & Oli were lovely & go out of there way to help with anything. All the paperwork was really straight forward and a massive help especially with advice on where to go & what to do.
