Matt
Beautiful lodge real home from Home with lovely special touches. The Jacuzzi in particular was amazing and worth every penny the location and peace and quiet was exactly what we needed.
Heidi
A lovely place to recharge and slow down. The property is beautifully kept and very welcoming, the owners have thought of everything. If you value beauty and tranquility this is the place for you! Heidi.
Linda
The location was fabulous for a really quiet time. No traffic or people. Lovely veranda all around surrounded by trees. Inside very large and beds very comfortable. The hot tub was to die for and my son loved the BBQ.
Mark
Beautiful location with fantastic wildlife on your doorstep.A little off the beaten track but barring that well worth a visit.
Bryony
Wonderful hideaway in rural Devon. Well equipped, comfortable beds (we are very fussy about beds), and close enough to be on a beach or to a supermarket within half an hour. We loved the peace and the patchy WiFi meant we all totally unplugged and recharged (even our grungy teenager)! Half an hour to Bude and slightly less to Bideford. Highly recom mend Monterey Lodge and expect we will book again for future years.
Claire
What a beautiful lodge situated in the tranquility of Devons countryside, but close enough to be able to get around to some fantastic locations such as Bude and Westward Ho! We loved that we could simply chill out at the lodge and enjoy the surroundings and the luxury of the hot tub! The lodge is perfectly kitted out and we had some great family me als around the table and out on the deck!
debbie
We had an amazing week even though the weather was up & down as youd expect in late March. The cottage was lovely & homely & very warm & had everything youd need in the kitchen for your stay. The hot tub was very well used & watching the wildlife with a cider in your hand was great. Yes the roads going to & from the cabin are country roads but it a dds to the experience when you arrive.
Bridget
Amazing little jem of a place in the wilds of Devon. Clean ,comfortable, everything you need to hand. The amount of wildlife you see daily is wonderful. So humbling. Hot tub was amazing. Highly recommend... 10 out of 10.
Karen
This was a gem of a find. If you don't mind being a little remote you will love this place. Having said that, you are only a short distance from beautiful beaches in both Devon and Cornwall. The lodge itself has everything you need. Lovely open plan kitchen/diner/lounge and large decking area outside. We spent a few evenings in the hot tub which wa s an absolute bonus. All in all, a great place to stay and would definitely return.
Janet
Lovely stay. Relaxing holiday & hot tub brilliant after day out. Have to be confident driver as quite cut off and narrow lanes to get to lodge but all part of the holiday.
Jane
Peaceful location, winding lanes to access. Perhaps a little tired in places but lovely setting to spend times with family and friends. Veranda was superb although the heatwave curbed some use, dogs loved it. Would be helpful to have more local dog walk ideas.
Richard
Great lodge and location. Nice and clean with the bonus of a hot tub. Would recommend to anyone who wants a nice quiet holiday in Devon. It's a great base to explore the Northern coast of Devon and Cornwall.
Janine
The lodge is in an idyllic location, surrounded by trees and wildlife. Really comfortable and everything you could need for a fantastic family holiday. We had an amazing time and the hot tub is an absolute bonus. Completely recommend this as a holiday destination for anyone who wants peace and quiet and a relaxing break away.
Kevin
My husband and I loved everything about the lodge. hot tub and and beautiful walks with our dog. The road leading to the lodges is not that bad if you take it slow. Going again hopefully. If you love peace and quiet I would recommend this lodge.
Danielle
What an absolutely, stunning, little lodge! It was just perfect. Everything was so homely like that you didnt want to go out. The surroundings are beautiful. Youre so perfectly distanced from the other properties youre not over looked or feeling cramped. The lodge had everything you needed, I cant get over the kitchen and all that was there. We onl y ate out once because we wanted to enjoy the lodge. Its a nice little sun catcher. Lovely area if youre looking for relaxation.
Sharon
Beautiful lodge - perfect for a away holiday anytime of year! Clean, comfortable and you can tell it is well loved by the owners. Beautiful little homely touches. We visited on a cold and wet weekend but inside was warm and cosy!
Lynn
Lovely, warm, well equipped lodge. 4 adults and 2 children, We had a lovely stay. Isolated but plenty of activities in the surrounding areas. Hot tub was a hit.
Wayne
The lodge was very well equipped, it had everything we needed to relax and cater for ourselves for the week. The contactless handover is a great idea, no checking in procedure etc was good. I would struggle to stay for a week with six people I think it would be cramped but for the two of us and our dog it was brilliant. Access roads arent car frien dly but I guess you have no control over that
Tracey
Incredibly beautiful, peaceful & very clean lodge. Wished we had booked longer. The dogs loved the walks. Fantastic view of the stars. Worth feeding the birds & wildlife. Hot tub was fabulous especially in colder evenings. Well equipped, very comfortable & so relaxing. The access road is more of a track road so would not recommend using a low profi le wheeled vehicle. Worth visiting: Local garden centre, quince bee farm, Northam beach, Boscastle & RiverSide cafe / The Bank bistro in Barnstable.
Louise
The cabin is clean, cosy, and comfortable. The brilliant hot tub kept both kids and adults entertained, as did the local wildlife which included lots of birds and squirrels. The heating is effective and easy to use. The cabin is not easy to drive to, with lots of very single track roads, so if you are a nervous driver it may stress you out. But the peace and seclusion once you are there is outstanding.
