The house was such a lovely getaway. Everything we needed was there and more, the hot tub and log fire made it the perfect place for a cozy winter getaway. The location is central to a lot of nearby attractions (Weston-super-mare, Puxton Park, Cheddar gorge etc.) and the hosts have clearly put a lot of effort into making sure you enjoy your stay. RRead moreeally enjoyed our week off here and would highly recommend! Thank you! Hide

Excellent reception from the owners who live nearby. The welcome pack of milk and wine were brilliant! Very clean and warm cottage, albeit a bit tricky to get to via quite steep steps. The countryside is stunning and a visit to nearby Wells Cathedral well worth a visit. We couldn't get the Internet to work but it actually made us stay away from ourRead more phones which we appreciated. Highly recommend! Hide
Charlotte
Lovely cottage and people hosting. Hot tub is a bonus.
Ros
Lovely space and the hosts were incredibly helpful, would highly recommend for a quiet weekend away!
Gavin
A lovely character cottage very conveniently located to plenty of attractions in the area. The hot tub was a major bonus which we used every evening. The cottage is very comfy and welcoming as we're the owners. What would put us off from booking White Croft again was its location next to a very busy A road. The cottage is right next to the road whiRead morech had a constant flow of traffic, so its continuously noisy. The driveway is super steep and long so something to be aware of. Hide

Property was lovely and quaint and had everything needed. Bathroom extremely small and internal stairs very narrow

Excellent accommodation full of character. Everything you could possibly want from a holiday cottage. Great view, pool, hot tub, garden, sun beds, areas with seats and tables outside, torches/lights for use outside, large TV with DVD player, radio in kitchen, welcome wine and flowers, comfortable beds, ample wardrobes/drawers, log burner and tastefRead moreully decorated throughout. Such a beautiful cottage. Very well equipped. Owner is very hospitable, greeting us on arrival. Be prepared to be confident with steep hill starts & a bit of off road driving to/from the cottage which has the most beautiful view. Love the little nook to sit in out the way, my 13 year old stole this when home. Hot tub is lovely, didn't try the pool due to weather. Road outside the main bedroom can be busy as it's a main route, very deep steep steps to the property, lovely old place.
Kahea
Brilliant property, had everything we needed and more. Stunning gardens and views. Close to a lot of attractions. This can't be changed and would dampen views if it was any different but just be aware of the steep hill from top of the road down to actual cottage. You can drive down and there's more than enough space to park but we left out car at t he top. Made the older ones a little out of breath reaching the top. However everything was perfection for us so didn't really bother us at all.
Julian
The cottage was set up very well and very well equipped. There was nothing that wasnt available for us to use. The owners were welcoming and were available if we needed anything or assistance. We would highly recommend White Barn and would certainly return for another stay if we were to visit the area again.
Jason
This cottage is a little gem. Great location for exploring with everything you need. Short drives to Cheddar Gorge and Wells which has a beautiful cathedral and town to explore. The cottage is very homely and has everything you need for your stay. Our girls loved the Hot tub and Plunge pool which was an added bonus. Was made very welcome by Richard & Carol and could not do enough to make our stay welcome.
Emma
We visited White Croft for a week at Easter with our kids age 11 and 8. Richard and Carole were perfect hosts. The cottage is beautiful. Very well equipped, really comfy. A brilliant DVD library and we had movie night by a roaring log burner every night. The hot tub is brilliant and the kids even got in the unheated pool. We cooked every night, the kitchen has everything you need (gas hob!). Perfect location with fantastic views of the countryside. Lovely walks at the top of the hill. Perfect. X

Nice lovely place to stay but not best if you have toddlers. Neat clean tidy with every attention to detail looked into for decoration.
Jenna
Absolutely loved our stay,so clean&cosy. Had everything needed, for cooking, hairdryer, iron&ironing board. Owners gifted us a bottle of wine&fresh milk. We enjoyed the cosy wood burner. No issues getting up&down the driveway, although a little steep. Easier to turn near owners drive and reverse down. Directions given were easy to follow. Location w ise was perfect, Wells cathedral is stunning&Wells area is great for shopping. Cheddar gorge&caves are brilliant. Highly recommended stay, thanks

Amazing cottage, nice walks, and local pubs , close to seaside resorts as long as you don't mind steps a fantastic place to stay . Owners very helpful

Overall we had a great holiday. Cottage and well equipped and cosy. Our host was very helpful and welcoming. A Christmas tree and few treats for the kids was a bonus and we really appreciated the wine. Just be careful with driving down the steep slope and pay extra attention on the steps which can be very sleepery. Will definitely recommend and vis it again .

I would heartily recommend this cottage. The cottage was very easy to find thanks to the clear instructions given. Accessing the property and parking at the bottom of the drive was straight forward, even in the icy/cold weather. The cottage is lovely and warm, the bedrooms comfortable, the standard of the provided equipment was high. The kitchen wa s well equipped and easy to cook in. We really enjoyed the DVDs provided. The hot tub was a lovely treat. Perfect family getaway cottage, thank you!
Elle
Lovely quirky cottage with plenty of character and easy access to everywhere desired. Super host. Incredibly steep driveway, DO NOT DRIVE TO THE BOTTOM IF YOU CAN HELP IT. We were nearly stuck. Park at the top of the hill instead. Well provisioned; towels, utensils, cookware, various cleaning products etc, even a small dishwasher and washing machin e. Hot tub was a welcome addition to a chilly evening after a long walk.
Juliet
White Croft Cottage . What can I say , it is perfect in all ways , beautifully maintained , comfy and cosy and a hot tub and dipping pool as well . Very well situated for all the main attractions in Somerset, Cheddar Gorge , Wells , Bath , Glastonbury just to name a few .
Claire
We loved our stay at White Croft. Our children spent a lot of time in the pool and the hot tub, it made their holiday. The views were beautiful and the location was great for nearby beaches and tourist spots. The owners were really helpful and friendly. Thank you for sharing your home. The drive is steep as are the steps, but it wouldn't put us off staying again.
Wendy
Swimming pool & hot tub fantastic steep steps to entrance really bad if you not able to climb. cottage spotless really clean owners really welcoming
Alison
The property is fantastic in such a cute Somerset village. The spa and pool are lovely and in a beautiful setting. The cottage has the most well equipped kitchen. We cooked everyday and there wasnt anything that the kitchen was short of. The host are lovely. Met us on arrival but then give you lots of privacy. Its only a 5 minute walk into the vill age to the store, pub or bus stop to Weston Super Mare or opposite way to Cheddar. We loved our stay and even plan to stay in the winter months.
Mo
Lovely cottage, hot tub and pool were lovely, the pool is unheated. The driveway is harrowing very very steep, the steps we're a real issue, it's really not a joy to keep making the steps everytime you want to go in and out of cottage, dangerous for children . The wifi was very weak too so wouldn't reach the garden area. But overall it's a lovely c ottage with everything you need. A nice complimentary bottle of wine and milk left for us which was very nice. I wouldn't return due to steps.
David
Lovely place to stay, loved the pool. We had really nice weather so was able to use every day. Host was lovely. Definitely keeps you fit with the steps to the property and steep driveway. We parked at the top of the drive as it was easier
Lynn
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to White Croft Barn and were lucky to have really good weather. The pool, hot tub and seating areas were excellent. The steep drive and number of steps down to the cottage were quite daunting but manageable by taking them slowly. The stairs down to the kitchen were also quite difficult to negotiate if carrying anythi ng but again we managed fine. Richard and Carol were very good hosts and left us a lovely welcome pack.
Clair
Lovely cottage
Cindy
Nice. clean, and well equipped . Ideal for 2 adults and a couple of small children. The 2nd bedroom was a tad small with low ceilings for my grown up children. Great location with plenty to do locally. Very steep drive leading down (glad I had a land rover) and lots of steps in and around the property so not ideal for people with limited mobility. The hosts were really helpful but didnt intrude on our stay. Beautiful gardens and views, hot tub and pool were the highlights of our stay.
Belinda
Cottage itself was lovely but steepness of the driveway was heart stopping which that needs to be added onto the website ..plus steepness of steps leading down to the cottage with no hand rails( very dangerous ) plus the hot tub is a lazy spa and only bigger enough for 3 people and unable to stretch your legs either .. I dont like to give criticism but on this occasion it needs to be addressed inside the cottage was lovely and quirky and clean but did smell musty on are arrivel .
Amanda
The property is a bit quirky, but lovely and very well equipped. However, I feel it should be made clearer that the steep, high stone steps are inbetween the property, the pool, hot tub, gardens, patios and parking so have to be climbed whenever you go between them and not just the ones shown in the photo to the front door. Also that it directly ab uts a busy road, there is a lot of traffic noise directly under the bedroom window and outside the kitchen window from early until late.
Christa
The cottage was lovely and we loved the quirkiness of it. and richard and Carol were lovely hosts and met us at the castle to help guide us in off the road. And left us some essentials and a bottle of wine which was lovely. Loved seeing the book about the renovation. Ideal location to get to the local seaside and cheddar and we even went to Wells t oo. And plenty more we could have done.
Linda
This Cottage was built with a good variety of quirkiness and had everything needed for our stay. We were welcomed by the owner and knew if we required anything else we only had to ask. !SELECTED!Scary moments navigating the steep drive and pleased we had good car breaks but what's life without it's little challanges and a few less heartbeats !END OFSELECTED!Thanks for the use of your lovely holiday home
AINOA
We did not realise the hot tub would not be working (only from May to Sept.), read it late so that was a disappointment, as that's one of the main reasons why we chose that cottage . We would suggest at least making It clearer on the website, of course It would be great to have the hot tub working the whole year as people normally want It especiall y for the winter months. Apart from that, everything else was lovely. Attention to detail, views, location and comfort provided.
Rachael
Immaculate cottage - beautifully clean and well resourced for a relaxing break. Owners are considerate, friendly and communicate well whilst respecting privacy. Quirky cottage with intricate features to enjoy. Great base to explore from.
Angela
Such a lovely cottage and welcoming owners! The weather wasn't great so most of the time we spent indoors and thanks for the fire place as it was lovely to chill out next to it while it was raining outside. We managed to have some nice walks around, which was great. Definitely would love to goback during spring or summer. Very well equipped cottage ! It had everything we needed. Very clean and really cosy. I would highly recommend this place and sincerely hope to be back there in warmer weather
Barbara
We were given a warm welcome by our hosts who could be contacted if we needed them but were otherwise unobtrusive. Suggestions of local walks were most appreciated. The cottage was well equipped with all we needed and was wonderfully warm - no need for the log burner which we could have used if necessary. Our only gripe was not being aware beforeha nd of the proximity of the road and the resultant traffic noise at busy times of the day. Also the steep drive was very daunting at first.
Hannah
My husband and I enjoyed a week away with our 18 month old daughter this September. Apart from the musky smell of damp throughout the ground level of the property, we had a tremendous time. The hot tub was enjoyed every evening once our daughter had gone to bed and the garden and shed full of games brought us all delight every day. The property is in a good location to so many local attractions and, apart from there being a lot of steps and next to a main road, it is in a great location.
