7 Faraway Fields Reviews

We had the most amazing holiday . The lodge had everything we could have wished for and more . The staff are fantastic . Nothing is too much trouble . We will definitely be visiting again very soon Thank you for making it a holiday to remember Claire, Mark and Alfie the dog
Lauren
Absolutely lovely stay at Faraway Fields, we would certainly book to stay again. Thank you!
Thanks Sykes and Charter Oaks for a great stay. The Southern Halt site is beautiful. The lodge was beautifully located, not overlooked at all. Great layout and plenty of room for a family of 5. We enjoyed using the hot tub and the decking area on a daily basis. It was honestly so lovely to enjoy some peace and quiet. Even our 3 children commented on how nice it was to only hear the sounds of nature. We will be coming back again.
Lovely lodge, on an amazing site and location, its even nicer in person than ... Lovely lodge, on an amazing site and location, its even nicer in person than on the pictures, and added bonus with the hot tub
Deborah
The location is out of the way to begin with. The lodges are quite small. Particularly the bedrooms and its impossible when using a travel cot. The lodge is quite clean, but lacks comfort. I book with Sykes at least once a year, and alway choose the maximum star rating. This definitely didnt meet the star rating and sadly we wouldnt return. It was so noticeable because we had spent the previous week at an exceptional property in Carbis Bay which wed booked with Sykes. One thing I will say that is exceptional and that is the staff in the office, particularly Tracey Karen in guest services.
Rachel
We had a wonderful mini break at Faraway Fields. A quiet and secluded holiday location and the hot tub on the decking was a fab bonus! The accommodation and grounds are beautifully maintained with a super friendly team keeping everything is running perfectly. We will absolutely be back!
Leanne
Beautiful lodge, however there was lots of ants over the kitchen side when we first arrived. We contacted the reception and they came out straight away and got rent a kill right onto it. The main bedroom mattress was stained and bedding wasn't the best so I had to flip the mattress. We reported this also and they brought us new bedding and was reporting the mattress. All in all a great stay, hot tub checked everyday
Jacqui
Perfect hideaway in a lovely area with lots of beautiful places to visit nearby. The lodge is perfect and the hot tub makes this a real treat.
We have stayed at this site before , last time in 2021 but I think they have changed management since then. All staff were extremely attentive, we had a phonecall leading up to going away, one on day to say the lodge was ready and they checked in with us during our stay. We had an issue with the washing machine and someone was sent within the hour to sort it. All staff at the restaurant over at Stonerush also really friendly. Lodge was great, clean, cosy and everything you needed cooking wise. The only negative was the glass screens all around the decking were so filthy with you couldnt see through them. Only a small negative , couldnt fault the rest!
Elizabeth
Southern Halt and the lodges we have stayed in have always been excellent and very comfortable.
On arrival it met all expectations and more. A very relaxed holiday with all our needs met, a lovely welcome pack to start the holiday inside and will be returning for another relaxing hot tub holiday getaway soon and cannot recommend enough. It was easy to book and any questions you have are already answered in emails prior to the stay.
The lodge was very lovely to stay in, perfectly clean and much larger than the photos! We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub which was clean and had a member of staff maintain the hot tub twice during our stay he was polite & courteous. We would definitely consider coming back.
Matthew
It was a perfect stay for us. All we needed was a relaxing couple of days away and thats exactly what we got. Hassle free, clean and in a beautiful location.
We had a brilliant trip, lovely area and fantastic property facilities. Would highly recommend.
Mr Darren Capper
Great place for a weeks getaway. Site is nice and secure whilst being superbly accessible. Unit was well stocked for self catering. We went during heatwave...so place was very very hot due to type of construction...would have loved a fan or two, or air con. Best hot tub we have ever had. Only minor grumbles on the unit e.g. main bathroom didn't lock, toaster only partially worked, heated towelrail in en suite could not be turned off, bed not long enough for someone over six foot,
Mrs Rachel Bradbury
Property was fantastic , hot tub amazing, perfectly situated in order to travel to different towns such as looe, Polperro and St austell. Lodge looked lovely and clean but the only down side was , with allowing pets although everywhere looked clean, everytime we sat on sofa we were covered in dog hairs, we have no pets ourselves and usually stay where no pets are allowed so this may be the norm in pet friendly lodges but we even hoovered the sofas ourselves and we were still getting covered in dog hair. Also the pans could do with replacing as they were not very good quality which made cooking difficult but that's not a put down on the lodge its just to let the owner know some items are ready for renewing. We had an amazing stay and would definitely return. All staff that we met were lovely and friendly.
Mr Andy Hewison
The lodge was very nice and comfortable the only issue we had is that you got an occasional foul smell from the stream outside the lodge. Overall I would recommend this as a very nice place to stay
Mrs ia Robinson
This was a lovely lodge in a quiet secluded spot. It had all we needed for a perfect holiday. Would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting peace and quiet but a stones throw away from amenities.
Mrs Sue Perkins
Amazing lodge had everything you could want. Lovely and peaceful and the hot tub is perfect after a day out. We cant wait to come back and will definitely be booking again.
Mrs Sarah Harman
Overall we had a great holiday. The lodge is well equipped and the hot tub is always a great hit. Unfortunately when we arrived there was a large clump of hair in the shower, coffee splashed up the kitchen blind and a lot of dust, I took this as bad luck at the time and cleaned it up but when 3 days later the WiFi still wasnt working despite being told an engineer was on site on the first day I did send an email.. accidently to the old mill .. I was assured it had been forwarded to customer services .. we heard nothing. I did raise about the WiFi alone to charter oak which was responded with the delay had been to being Easter weekend. We did have a great holiday, but wanted you to be made aware of the issues Many thanks
