A lovely stay thank you
Claire
Having stayed here previously we knew what a great location this was. Little signs of wear that could be attended to. Decking floor lights not working, upstairs balcony chairs and decking covered in green algae. Lights in the internal staircase not working. Love this place but needs ongoing care and attention to keep it the best! Coffee machine was over complicated and needed descaling during our stay so we had to get it swapped with portside machine lucky no one was staying there. Didnt ruin our stay by any means but just some constructive feedback.
Carole
Absolutely outstanding property, very well equipped and the most amazing views. Perfect location close to Carbis bay station, 3 min train ride to St Ives. Spotlessly clean, super comfy beds with beautiful bedding and plenty of big fluffy towels. We would definitely recommend and hope to return.
Excellent accommodation, very spacious, Excellent views. Would definitely go back.
Jonathan
Beautiful spacious property with stunning views! Location ideal for visiting St Ives on the train which we used many times.
Maxine
The views! Amazing! The property is so well equippedits like home from home! The best sleep ever, loved it that much, Ive placed an order for all the same bedding! We loved the hot tub too. The location is great. The lively St Ives, with its quaint shops, bars and restaurants, cuppa and cake shops too, is just a 3 minute train ride from virtually your doorstep, then back to the tranquil life in Carbis Bay. If youre a beach lover, its so handybut be ready for the steep hill downand steeper coming back up
Super property, excellent location, views of the bay are stunning. Carbis Bay is a great location with the train service between St. Ives and St. Eths a little gem allowing visits to other places easy and stress free.

Honestly cannot fault our stay. Very clean, wasn't expecting all of the facilities we had. Directions on how to use all of the facilities were fab, The views from the apartment were amazing. Really don't know how anyone can moan about the accommodation. Only downfall and this has nothing to do with the apartment itself is the apartment next door had 2 cars making it difficult for us to get our car in. I will 100 be booking to stay here again. Already looking for next year.
Russell
Enjoyed our stay the views were stunning would definitely recommend
This property is in need of some update's looking tired and dated. The sofa is old and worn and seats dipped in the middle the cushions and throws I removed and stored in wardrobe as they were grubby and had seen better days. The oven and oven trays were filthy oven needs deep clean. The dishwasher needs replacing as does not clean properly even on deep clean. The bath tub is a hazard I filled and emptied this 34 times as jets were absolutely filled with mould grime and dirt. I tried to use the bath every day but each time I put the jets on lots of dirt came out even after cleaning it many times myself. Thankfully I tried the jets before getting into the bath as this is a serious hazard if you had any open grazes wounds, could cause infection. I reported this to Sykes and sent photos. They apparently sent someone out and said it was resolved but I assure you its not. The hot tub outside was very disappointing too, we were really looking forward to using this, the power out of the jets were really poor even when adjusted not powerful at all also the lights do not work on it of a evening anymore so quite dangerous. The Xmas decs were really old and dated. The views are amazing the property could be luxurious if a bit of time and money was spent bringing it back to a high quality rental but I have to say we were very disappointed considering the large sum of money we spent, we would not stay again or recommend unless improvements were made. We stayed in another apartment just behind this property on the end that had the same facilities listed as this but the quality and standard was much higher this was with Cornish gems.
The house is in a really nice location and the views are stunning. The cleanliness of the house was an issue. In the kitchen, we had to wash pans and dishes before use and the microwave was filthy. And the supplies provided were less than minimal no spare rubbish bags no spare kitchen paper towels and no silver foil and hand soap 99.9 used. When paying more than 4000 a week one expects more than this. And, the other holiday rental services we have used provide a welcome hamper with all sorts of goodies including bread and eggs and butter and wine etc etc. but as far as I could tell the only things provided were a small box of biscuits and a pint of milk. Not much of a welcome hamper for a 4000 a week rental. We had to resolve the cleanliness problem ourselves by washing everything, and then, to add insult to injury, Sykes sends a message asking if Sykes has resolved everything by saying that they will tell the brand. Also, Sykes apologized for the property not being up to the standard I expected on arrival which suggests that the issue was my problem for having excessively high standards. Does not Sykes expect the property to be clean? Does Sykes think that guests should have to wash everything in the kitchen before they can use it?? Your messages were not designed to placate an already unhappy guest.
Michael
Our second visit to this wonderful property. Amazing views. Close to the beach and coastal path. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The only thing our children were unimpressed by was the wifi particularly downstairs in the bedrooms as this frequently cut out. The enormous tv and hot tub were a big hit though. Would love to stay again.
Rachael
Overall we had a lovely stay, and at a glance is the perfect place. Beautiful views, all modern furniture and appliances and comfortable beds and sofas. Plenty of gamesbooks provided and the cupboard in the bathroom was a god sendspare bulbs, batteries, tools and even a sewing kit which for once we actually needed! Great for beach access and the train station which actually didnt disturb us at all despite the line being close The only down sides were the work that was being carried out at a neighbouring property. Hammering and drilling from 8am all day, and the property is so close they may as well be outside your window which is how it felt so my daughter had to have her bedroom curtains closed all the time for privacy. The hot tub really could benefit from a privacy screen, as you are visible to all passers by going to the beachstation which is a little awkward! Although clean, there was a lot of long dust cobwebs in corners and on skylights which were noticeable and things left over from previous guests under the drawers when I dropped an earring. All in all a beautiful apartment, and everything well thought of for your convenience. Just to add, in other properties I have stayed in, the welcome pack had extra info like nearest hospdrdentist, recommendations for food deliveryrestaurants, and local info like parksshopstaxi numbers. Maybe something to think about adding to your pack? Thanks for allowing us an extra day also due to the train strikes!
Fabulous property everything you need. We had a problem with the freezer not delivering Ice which unfortunately did not get resolved due to unforseen circumstances despite every effort from customer service, who were very good. We didn't use the hot tub due to it being open to the main road which is the main path to the beach so very busy. Maybe a small screen around the tub would be a good solution. After saying that the views were to die for
Christina
Lovely apartment and amenities. The hot tub was a bonus. Only downside was the walk up from the beach for me.
Daniel
Loved the location and the accomodation
Starboard is the ultimate holiday apartment. Extremely stylish, clean and well equipped. The views from the apartment are spectacular! Very highly recommended.
Pauline
Fantastic house, fantastic location. Would definitely come back and recommend.
Sunita
The staff were always helpful, any problems were rectified straight away
Michael
Fabulous apartment with amazing views. Extremely well equipped with high end appliances. This all made for a comfortable and relaxing stay.Really enjoyed sitting in the lounge area looking across the bay. I feel that the photos of the hot tub on the website are slightly misleading. In reality the hot tub is on a small terrace at the front of the property directly next to a reasonably busy road, If you are sat in the hot tub you are more or less constantly on show to drivers and passengers passing by in fairly slow traffic, or from people walking up and down from the beach or train station opposite. This may not bother a lot of people but its something to be aware of.
Amazing house amazing views and a amazing place This holiday will be high up ... Amazing house amazing views and a amazing place This holiday will be high up there Starboard is a great house with the best views close to the beach and the train station fantastic Thanks
Claire
We had such a nice holiday! The photos of the property didn't do it justice! The views were superb and the quality of the property and amenities was really good. We even liked the bedding so much that we ordered the same to arrive at home for when we got back! We were also grateful for the little things like the flowers, fresh coffee beans, milk and biscuits. Many thanks for having us. We will definitely stay again!
Rutherford
Apartment is amazing and has Everything you would expect. Hot tub could do with being a little warmer but was lovely still. Our only moan was the check in and check out times. 9am was a bit of a rush by the time we had to strip all the beds and bedding and make sure no dishes were left out. Check in at 5pm is a little late too , it wouldnt take 9 til 5 to clean the apartment. Other than that I would recommend
One of the best accommodations we have ever stayed in while holidaying in the UK. . Cracking views of the bay.. Would definitely use again if Carbis was the holiday location..
The apartment is stunning! The views are incredible. Very highly recommended!

This was our second stay in this house. It doesn't seem to have changed in any way! We loved it the first time and this time we felt exactly the same. First time round we had two of our children with us it was perfect for a family, with room to spread out. Our sons remember it with great affection. My husband and I came on our own this time and, again, it felt perfect. Standards of accommodation, hygiene, equipment and facilities are consistently high. The house is situated in a wonderful position, with the station over the road, the footpath down the cliff just across the bridge and, of course, the gorgeous beach down the hill. The rather depressing building work being carried out by the hotel on the beach detracted a little from our time down there it's sad that a private business can own a beach I feel that it should belong to everyone. We had a great couple of weeks at Mariners Loft recently. The accommodation was of a very high standard and the location was fabulous the views, proximity to the beach and ease of access to St Ives. We would particularly recommend The Loft and River Cafe in St Ives and further afield, Fore St restaurant in Mousehole and the National Trust cafe at Godrevy beach. For body boarding Sennon Cove is a must and we also had great waves at Harlyn bay near Padstow also in that area the views and beaches around Bedruthan Steps are just breathtaking. A. Smith

We had a very good holiday at Starboard, It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The fittings and finish were of a very high standard and the location suited us perfectly. We enjoyed taking the train into St Ives and not having to drive much and had good food at the Seafood Cafe with the last train home meaning we could both enjoy the wine. We went twice to watch the seals off Navax Point. L Walton
