Ynys Faelog Reviews

We absolutely loved staying at this property and everything was perfect. There were two things we would like to feedback though The absence of any kind of folder with key information in about the property and its amenities presents some challenges. For example knowing how to turn the heating off and how to operate the hot tub. It would be in the owners interests from a sustainability perspective to provide this info. Secondly we were very surprised to find the late one night the footpath which is supposedly accessible at all time was submerged with the tide. Perhaps due to a full moon it was an exceptionally high tide. Nonetheless it is advertised as accessible at all times via footpath. We had 2 friends who had come for dinner and were unable to get off the island that night and had to stay to 5am. I appreciate that your listing wouldnt want to give the impression its not accessible but again if there were a folder of key information it could be noted that occasional exceptional high tides may mean the footpath is inaccessible
We enjoyed our stay here, the house was beautiful with stunning views, and was well equipped. The beds were comfy, lovely furniture, and the house was cozy and warm. The house itself was very clean, however the hot tub unfortunately was not. We had no pre warning that the tub was drained and the expectation was to fill it. This wasnt really as issue as it filled quickly, but we did have to clean it before use as it hadnt been done, something I dont expect to have to do given the cost of the holiday home. I also had issues locating the hot tub starter pack. We waited for assistance from the house keeper for a few hours, and when I called to chase up, was directed to wood which had been left in the rain and was no use. I purchased logs, kindling and fire lighters myself. After our holiday I was told if I had receipts then I would be reimbursed. Had I known this before and not after the holiday, I would have kept them. The property itself was immaculate, and I could not fault the cleaning inside. I understand how difficult it must be to clean such a large home in a short space of time, and credit where its due, it was spotless inside. Reading a previous review, I agree the house would benefit from a manual , we muddled through just fine but normally expect a go to guide on how to use the appliances, hot tub, WiFi etc. I did query this and was sent a link on the use of the wood fired hot tub which was great, but again, it would save visitors time if this info were readily available. We enjoyed our stay, and had it not been for the handling of the some of the above raised, would probably have booked again for our annual Christmas holiday as it was a lovely house. As a regular customer with Sykes, Im disappointed.

Absolutely fantastic place would definitely recommend to everyone I know. Just one little thing but only little maybe a a little welcome book with things like WiFi etc would be handy. Apart from from nothing was at fault. Such an amazing place
