Snowy Owl Lodge Reviews

It was absolutely fantastic for us and the dog's very relaxing atmosphere and great views and great value for the money would definitely return again.
The lodge was absolutely as described, clean and welcoming,it was ready early so the park team let us go in which we appreciated after a long journey. The site was well kept and the dog facilities were excellent, lge fields, woodland etc, with plenty of dog waste bins.We had a wonderful break, thankyou to Oakwood lodges.... If I had one bit of criticism it would be the bed mattress it made my back ache as I think it needed a new one,but this wouldn't stop me booking again.

Great place to stay in a beautiful part of wales. The cabin was good apart from a couple minor issues which was the sink tap wouldnt shut of completely so there was a continuous trickle of water running all the time. The other thing was the shower,we got about 30 seconds warm water if we were lucky! It didnt spoil our stay and we wouldnt hesitate to stay there again if the opportunity came.
Lovely and peaceful. Enjoyed the break....and the hot tub.

We were booked for number 5 and ended up with number 8 no towels on arrival no complementary pack garden not secure gate on veranda not secure bed room draws falling apart but despite all this we had a great time beds were completely comfy hot tub amazing brilliant time on the whole

Had a wonderful stay at Snowy Owl. Very impressed with the cleanliness. Lovely white bedding and towels .Lovely lodge felt very comfortable there. The whole site is beautifully maintained and each one quite private , all very tidy, hedges neat, grass cut. Lovely walk for the dog. Scenery was great The hot tub of course was the bonus loved it ! Hopefully we will be visiting again later in the year.
We had a truly wonderful time at Snowy Owl Lodge. The accommodation was perfect for us as a couple...as was the hot tub! And to top it all off the setting was stunning and tranquil. A lovely place to enjoy a little R'n'R. We would highly recommend and will be back. Thank you
Our four night stay was peaceful bliss for me my friend and Chihuahua. .the only very small problem was finding the lodge! Me and the driver in front thought the white house on the left was reception and the lodges themselves could do with a new sign as they didn't stand out. Overall though the hot tub and lodge was bliss with beautiful countryside surrounding it.

Arrived and keys were ready for us to collect. The property was very clean and had a lovely view. Would definitely return in the future.
Denise
Stunning location, spotless well equipped. I just had one complaint and that was the mattress on the double bed wasnt very comfortable, we had disturbed sleep because of it. I would definitely think about using Oakwood lodge park again.
Charlotte
A perfect and super private escape to the countryside. Will certainly be visiting again . Thank you so much!
Very dog friendly. Beautiful views very private little garden. Our only major niggle was the noise from a nearby cabin that went on till 3.30am.
Really nice place to stay, would recommend for anyone. Very well priced.
The lodge is set in lovely well kept grounds with beautiful views and has it's own private garden area. We actually stayed in Lodge 8 which was very clean and roomy and had all the basics needed for our break. We would definitely stay here again.
The lodge we arrived at wasn't the lodge pictured in the listing posted by your Company. I booked with Sykes as I could choose that specific lodge. The interior and exterior could do with some tlc. As far as facilties go, a mop and bucket would be handy. Overall we had a lovely weekend in a very nice, peaceful place. The village has everything you need and everyone is very friendly. We definitely will be returning.
I loved our stay and will definitely recommend and rebook
Beautiful location with very nice views situated close to the Elan valley. The site is peaceful, quiet and away from it all. The lodges are nicely secluded with privacy hedging although some noise from adjacent lodges is heard outdoors. Facilities adequate maybe a refresh of some essentials like coffee making could be improved.
Hannah
We stayed at Snowy Owl Lodge, it was the most relaxing 3 nights. The lodge was easy to find, spotlessly clean and had all utensils needed. The lodge itself and the hottub was private. I will definitely be booking again
The accommodation was fine, especially noting it was dog friendly. The only problem was that the bed was soft and the mattress felt worn.

Great location with views of hillsvalleys from lodge decking, hot tub is in the lodge private garden area and not overlooked. Really enjoyed our stay.

Tried to contact the number left as had issues with the TV. Rang and text on Saturday am and didn't get reply so resent message Sunday pm still no reply. Had issue with hot tub Wednesday pm rang and text no reply so emailed and they came round a few hours later we then made them aware of the issue with TV and was told girls would sort it in the morning. Was told had rang electrician re hot tub and they were waiting for him to come. Unable to use tub Wednesday evening. When got up Thursday morning tub was at 62 degrees, The girls came round no electrician available till Friday. The tub was to be slightly emptied and filled with cold water so we could use Thursday and a thermometer was being left so we could check temperature we went out and left them doing this and when we came back too much hot water had been let out so tub was freezing, they came back round and said they could could top up with hot water from boiler so we could use but by this time we had had enough so we declined. Lots of flies but nothing the owners could do about it fly spray and bombs left in lodges. Shelving in bathroom shower would be a good idea for shower gel shampoo.
Joanne
The staff were very helpfully there was a problem with the hot tub and they went over and beyond to short this out.
Mervyn
The lodge was in a good location but crockery and cutlery had to be washed. The hot tub did not work the top was ripped the steps on decking was loose with 2 large screws sticking out and posed a trip hazard in general the lodge was in need of maintenance i would not recommend this property to any one we have photos of the lodge showing the state of the place
Stayed at this location may 2021 was a little apprehensive about going after reading one or 2 bad reviews. The lodge was perfect, very clean and tidy with absolutely amazing views. The hot tub was fabulous also. Theres a beautiful little town just a short drive away and plenty to do if your an explorer. I will most definitely be booking to stay here again and also advise people not to listen to the bad reviews. Rhian Taylor

Excessive noise late at night, especially on Saturday. No way of contacting local support phone never answered. Voice mail full. Dripping taps in bathroom No temperature gauge or indicator light on cooker Hot tub not working until reset late in stay using tub cleaner instructions. Nice view!
Staff at Snowy Owl Lodge went above and beyond to help us place was lovely
Samantha
Love it here 3rd time of staying at this park but 1st time booking with your company. Excellent communication with Sykes and ease of booking. Top marks to you & thank you.
Michaela
Myself and my friend had such a lovely time! ! Nice and relaxing just what we needed and left to our own devices with was really nice!!!
Samantha
Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful grounds. Lovely local town.
It was a relaxing couple of days but the Lodge wasn't as good as what we had hoped. There was no hoover, no ironing board but an iron. We thought it would be alot more remote but it was right next to other people who wasn't the quietest especially at 2am.The hot tub was amazing and it was a lovely layout.
The lodge was nice although a bit outdated. The key collection is in a small area of reception with no one there to greet you. We didn't see anyone the whole time. The lodge doors lock very strangely and the door wedges when you are trying to get in. The cooker does not work. We tried loads of different combinations and could only get the grill to work. Couldn't cook dinner at all. There are no small glasses so we had to have pint ones. There is no floor towel for the bathroom or for the hot tub so we had to put some down. The shower door doesn't close properly so floods the floor. When you open the windows flies come in everywhere so maybe a fly catcher would be nice. There is no welcome basket or anything which for a luxury lodge is a disappointment The double bed had massive springs coming out of it. There is NO noise limit at all. We had a hen party screaming and shouting until 3am and we had kids. Not kid friendly for that reason. There wasn't anyone to tell or anyone around the inspect. All the furniture is old and out dated and broken. There was also glass, a bottle with cigarette butts and cups outside... They didn't check or clean the outside at all. There was also dog poo on the grass. Overall for 400 was completely no worth it and we were very disappointed. Also the hot tub wasn't full enough or cleaned properly.
Really had a fantastic time. Outside of lodge a bit tired but everything else was just perfect0
A week before we were due to check in I received an email to say that check in was now 5pm and check out was 930am due to Covid19 and them needing to clean. I replied to that email because I found that extremely unreasonable as you practically loose a day by only being able to check in at 5pm and indeed we did after getting stuck in traffic and only arriving at 1945pm and I stressed this in my email and i dont know about anyone else but the excuse of Covid for every single thing is starting to become quite annoying. Having said that we arrived with an open mind, it was 3 friends going for a quiet weekend. Upon arrival reception is a tiny cubicle with an envelope with your name on as everyone else who booked a lodge all with their envelopes and names on too. We entered the lodge and its nice, looks quite open from the outside but when your inside or in the hot tub you actually dont see anything which is nice. Very quiet again nice and exactly what we wanted. No information on local amenities and your literally in the middle of nowhere so that would have been good. We used the cooker and couldnt turn it off, no instructions, missing light and no signs on the cooker to know what was on,grill or oven so that wasnt great. The flys are unreal, take fly spray because its like they appear from nowhere fly spray should be provided No home touches at all, no welcome pack, coffee, tea, even a touch of milk just to carry you through a few hours of your day. Hot tub is amazing however, your bringing water into the lodge which is a slip hazard no mop to wash it up? A list of everything you need to do before you leave 1. Strip the beds 2. Clean and put away your dishes 3. Separate your rubbish and put it in big bins provided on the way out. 4. Open all windows before you leave. What exactly are you doing with the extra time you have to clean for Covid?? I myself had to rewash dishes that had been put away dirty by previous customers so you are checking for cleanliness? There was dust all over the wardrobe shelves that again we had to clean before placing our clothes on. There is a memo to say staff will come around to clean the hot tub so keep social distancing...there was not one staff member in sight and the hot tub never got cleaned and we know that because when planning to go in for second night there was leaves and all sorts floating. Although I enjoyed the peace and quiet and it was nice for what it was the little touches and actually seeing someone to communicate with would have made things a lot better and dont use Covid as an excuse for your cleaning expectations when there is very little evidence you are living upto what you are saying you are doing.
Michelle
The lodge is in a beautiful area, the park is stunning and really very safe for children to play. Check in was from 4, however the reception isn't manned and when we arrived to collect our key it wasn't there. I rang the number, and they were just finishing filling the hot tub, i think there must have been problems with the boiler because it was nearly 30 outside and the heating had been on in the lodge for what felt like most of the day. I have stayed places that have been a lot better equipped, for example, there were wine glasses or pint glasses, no just ordinary tumblers. I think describing it as a premium lodge should include washing facilities. Overall, the area was beautiful and we had a lovely time, but I've definitely had better, more comfortable accommodation elsewhere.
Sandra
The lodge is what we expected mostly. It's clean and comfortable. Has all what's needed shower, fridge, etc. The hot tub worked well for most of the days and when it didn't, we called and we were told that the girls would come to check in the morning. Ok was 10pm but we had been out all day with the children and we wanted to soak in a bit b4 going to bed.... We didn't because no one can come at that time. Another thing is it says on the rules that music and noise cannot be heard from the other lodges..... It was. Constant night drunk shouts, loud music and karaoke singing. At some point we had said drunk people walking through our lodge swearing and arguing and crying... We have 2 children! No one did nothing. Overall review is that the lodge is as described but we didn't expect the lodges to be so close together and so much noise throughout the night. We searched for peace and quiet and struggled to have it while there. Thank you Sandra and family from lodge 5
