The Anchorage @ Nables Farm Reviews

Geoffrey
Ur party of 9 were very pleased with The Anchorage at Nables Farm. Which we found very spacious. There were however some minor points that the owner should rectify or be aware of. Top oven not working owner informed, lack of usable toilet brushes, we were disappointed that the table tennis table was out of use and the hot tub wood burner should be fired up at least 3 hours before use. Would also have been useful to have more information about the property facilities and the area including surgeries and emergency service.
Sharon
Beautiful property. There were 9 of us over 3 generations. I'd like to add that one if our group is a wheelchair user and she had access to the majority of the house. The only part of the house unaccessible were the 3 bedrooms on the lower ground so absolutely no problem whatsoever. Martin was also extremely accommodating when we had to hire some extra mobility aids to the property, ensuring he was there to receive the items before we arrived. We had a wonderful 2 weeks. The hot tub and the pool table were brilliant. I'd highly recommend this property.
Well appointed property with excellent air pump system providing good general consistent comfort, good showers, and comfortable beds. Hot tub a challenge but welcome when it reached suitable temperature. improvements would consist of basic welcome pack milk, bread etc ,coffee machine, replacement of many chipped plates, and info. folder.
Jonathan
Wonderful place to stay, a lovely spacious accommodation, light and airy, with a huge kitchen diner perfect for entertaining or feeding a large family. The beds are comfortable, there are lots of bathrooms and the loungesnooker room is great and the snug a fab hideaway. The patio area was gorgeous in the sunny weather and the hot tub a bonus. Plus a helpful and accommodating host.
Sophia
Brilliant weekend, huge thanks to the hosts for making us so comfortable. Its a beautiful and spacious property, and we are very much hoping we can come back!
Alison
The Anchorage was absolutely beautiful and we will definitely return. The host Martin was very helpful and answered all of our questions. Myself and my partner went with our grown up children and their partners and they all loved the pool table. The kitchen facilities were fantastic everything we needed was there. Thank you Martin for helping make our holiday great.
Maxine
This is a lovely cottage in a beautiful location. There are just a few basic items missing from the kitchen baking trays, measuring jug, draining rackand tongs. Definitely need a bowl which fits in the sink correctly! We also were short of coasters to use whilst sat away from the table and in the bedrooms for the morning cuppa. Also, there wasnt a chair in three of the bedrooms so no where to sit to put your footwear on. We had a couple of maintenance issues but these were dealt with swiftly by the owner. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.
Joanna
The Anchorage was an ideally located place for exploring Wiltshire. We were made to feel very welcome by Martin and thank you for the tray of eggs. The house was spacious, very comfortable and wonderfully furnished in a quiet and peaceful location. We appreciated the outdoor space with all the seating for relaxing or eating together. We all had a wonderful and relaxing holiday and would love to come back some time.
Jennifer
We absolutely loved the Anchorage & it suited our family perfectly . We were lucky to have gorgeous weather for much of our stay & really enjoyed the gorgeous outside space & wonderful sunsets . Beds were really comfortable & the sociable living space was perfect for a family get together . Our host Martin was very kind & brought us wonderful eggs such a treat . We loved it & have booked again for next year . Thanks so much ..
Bernadette
What a beautiful place to stay and would not hesitate to return or to tell friends about the place. Martin was a lovely host and so many eggs it was fab. The weekend went too quick as so much we still could have done .
The photos don't do the property justice, it was far better than expected and has a real wow factor. Perfect for larger groups as the rooms are so spacious allowing groups to be in the room doing different things but feeling inclusive the pool table was a great bonus. All the bedrooms were comparable which went down well with everyone. Location is very quiet and Martin was so helpful throughout our stay, especially sorting out the hot tub for us. Overall a great place to stay.
This is a great property set in the countryside but within easy reach of Bath and Bristol, and good places to walk, e. G. Avebury, Uffington, Castle Combe and more. What is special about this property is that even with nine people it never felt crowded. The pool table and hot tub were very welcome!
Elizabeth
Stunning property loved it! We had a wonderful holiday at The Anchorage. The property is amazing, so much space and light and extremely well fitted out to very high standard. We were greeted by Martin the owner who could not have been more helpful, and provided us with a tray of fresh organic eggs from the farm which were voted the best we have tasted. A lovely touch. The kitchen diner is very spacious and airy. The dining table seated all of us comfortably. Martin made us twin beds where needed, the beds were super comfy and the bathrooms extremely well appointed. The pool tablelounge was great too and as mentioned in another review has the most gorgeous chandeliers. The gardens and views from the property are spectacular. The utility room and washer and dryer were incredibly useful especially with two little ones in our party. The logfired hot tub was great too. Thanks for a brilliant stay. Highly recommend The Anchorage, we will be returning and indeed have already booked another visit!
Lesley
Our stay was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The property provided everything that was needed to make our stay a very memorable one. We were welcomed by the owner on arrival and made to feel extremely comfortable from the moment we arrived, and he gave a tray of eggs as a welcome giftWould have preferred a tray of lager!! We would highly recommend this property to anyone who is thinking of booking it. Cant wait to stay here again.

Excellent facilities .Very comfortable bedrooms.Beautiful open plan kitchen with every thing you need to cook for a large group .Pool room was excellent we throroughly enjoyed pool competitions .Woodfired hot tub was great fun ,if a little hot, but that was our doing .The owner was very helpful and friendly and gave us delicious eggs for breakfast.Large well equipped garden.Attention to detail in every way.I cannot fault this property.
Amanda
Lovely house. Great layout of bedrooms. Facilities were fantastic, we loved the hot tub and the pool table. Washing machine and tumble dryer were a real bonus, we came home with lots of clean clothes instead of lots of washing. Plenty of parking. Loads of space for all of us to spread out and not be on top of each other. Would recommend to all my friends.
Joanne
We had a lovely time staying here over New Years for a couple of days . House was gorgeous, very spacious for the kids and we loved playing pool on the pool table! Hot tub was great! Overall we had the best time thank you xxx
Tammina
What an amazing cottage. I say cottage lightly the place is huge. Martin was really welcoming and always on hand even on Boxing day. The rooms were spotless. We did have one maintenance issue that wasn't resolved but I appreciate calling for a plumber over Christmas might have been a tad difficult. All in all a great stay, we cannot wait to return.
Our weekend stay at The Anchorage was incredibly enjoyable. All 10 of us friendsfamily were extremely impressed with the property and the facilities. We were met on our arrival on the Friday by Martin, the owner who showed us around. Martin was very helpful and available by phone if we needed anything. The pool table and hot tub were a hit with all of us. We ventured out to Malmesbury on the Saturday. We decided to spend a relaxing day at The Anchorage on the Sunday and set ourselves the challenge of completing the 1000 piece Amazon Rainforest jigsaw which we finally managed to complete before we left Monday morning. We were all in agreement that it was definitely a place we wanted to come back to in the future. What a brilliant place you have Martin.
We are a group of 10 5 couples that always have a pre christmas weekend meet and have been doingvthis for over 25 years. I can honestly say this has been the best property by far. The house is beautuful, welcoming and very clean for this time if year Nov very warm. Beds are comfy facilities great. Martin was very hands on when we had a prob. Would highly reccomend this property 100 we all really enjoyed our stay it was great
Deborah
A stunning property with high class fittings, Martyn our host was a delight, he had the log burner lit and the musiclights on before we arrived. ..perfect. Over the weekend we enjoyed the eggs from the farm thank you and the expertise of Martyns knowledge to get the hot tub to temperature. Nothing was too much trouble. Gorgeous place for a 60th get together.
Catherine
Have just returned from a wonderful weekend break. The moment we walked through the front door we knew we had booked a winner! An absolutely stunning place to stay. 10 of us went to the Anchorage for a friends birthday treat. There was so much room. The kitchen diner is huge. The dining table seats 10 comfortably. All bedrooms bar one were en suite, but even then the bathroom was so close to the room. Martin made us twin beds where needed. The lounge has the most gorgeous chandeliers in different colours. The gardens and views from the property just wonderful in their autumn colours. All in all breathtaking ..... we will return! P.s ..... just reading other reviews ....no eggs for us
Kathryn
We had a lovely stay at the anchorage. It was perfect for our group of friends. Very spacious and great for the children. The surrounding area was lovely with the farm. We look forward to staying again in the future.
Bridget
As a family of 10 adults we all found The Anchorage to be just what we wanted. Great size house in a lovely locationperfect for a birthday weekend away! Bedrooms all a great size as was all the communal living space. Martin was extremely welcoming and helpful. The hot tub was greatwhich is more than we can say about the weather at times! Thoroughly recommend
Annette
We had such an amazing 2 nights in this beautiful property. It was very clean everywhere, the rooms were all wonderfully decorated. A perfect location. There were 8 of us staying in th 5 bedrooms and we never felt on top of each other as this property is so spacious. We didnt really want to go out anywhere and leave the wonderful property. Martin, the owner introduced himself and we knew he was available should we need him. No issues at all. We would definitely return to this property or one of the others on Nables Farm.
Michelle
Group of older ladies on our annual getaway. Absolutely loved the house and no doubt will be returning. The owners have gone to great lengths to make sure everything you can possibly need is there. Lovely big house that accommodated 9 of us easily. Martin provided us with so many eggs that were delicious. Location is great just off the M4 and for visiting so many local towns. Lovely setting and enjoyed sitting outside enjoying the last of the summer sun. We plan to visit again and go to Bath and Bristol next time. Highly Recommend.....
The house is magnificent with a huge amount of space for 10 to get away from each other. One day was incessant pouring rain so we never went out and had a lovely day. 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms are ideal although its a pity one is not en suite although it is very close. Lighting the hot tub is fun and we even got it too hot and had to wait for it to cool.
Ronald
Lack of general information on property, local facilities in the area and kitchen utensils would have enhanced our stay. Saying that The Anchorage was very comfortable ,clean and spacious inside and out and well positioned.
We had a great holiday at the anchorage went for a chill out holiday and got one the house is beautiful plenty of space for a big family the owner was very pleasant . there were a few things that could be improved in the house just some maintenance that would be easily rectified .
Kenneth
A great weekend at the Anchorage celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary and my husbands 80th birthday! Everything brilliant. Only slight negative were the number of flies !
What a wonderful experience for me and my family. The house was beautifully decorated and furnished and was spotlessly clean. The hot tub and pool table are great additions. All in all we couldnt fault it. There was acres of room for a family of 7 both inside and outside. It is great for a family with young children as there is a substantial enclosed garden, that they managed to use most days, despite the weather. All in all we had a wonderful stay. Also a big thank you to the owner who was there to answer all our queries, and not forgetting the wonderful eggs supplied on our first day. Definitely gets 5 stars from us.
Avtar Singh
Stayed at the property with large group of golf friends Wow factor
Beautiful property in a lovely setting. Perfect for a large family or social gathering. Immaculate house, lovely comfortable beds. Well decorated and provided all that we needed for a brilliant weekend. Owner was excellent at communicating with us during the weekend when we had any questions. Freshly laid hen eggs left for us in the kitchen to eat, was a nice touch. I would definitely recommend this holiday home. Thank you.
Amazing property and beautifully presented. We had a fantastic time staying in the Anchorage and would definitely recommend it!
We have just returned from a 3 night break at the Anchorage at Nables farm. When walking into the property all we could say was Wow. Such a lovely accommodation all the furnishings, beds , and kitchen equipment was of a very high standard. Each of the 5 bedrooms had there own on suite again of a very high standard. The hot tub was an extra bonus. The property was very clean and on arrival Martin the owner popped into introduce himself and made us feel very welcome. They tray of eggs that he delivered was also a lovely welcome gift, they were delicious. The wild flower meadow that you look out to is lovely. Having a walk around the farm is also a bonus. There is no negative comments that we could give regarding The Anchorage, everything was there that you could have needed.. Highly recommend and look forward to returning. Five star rating
This was a lovely property. There was ten of us, all adults, and we all had a lot of space. Each of the five bedrooms were excellent. Property was very clean throughout. We didn't get a chance to use the hot tub but it did look very inviting. Owners very kindly left a huge tray of very tasty eggs from the farm, which we enjoyed! We had two people with mobility impairments, who both slept on the ground floor bedrooms. They found it easy to navigate the cottage.
Lovely property, beautifully furnished with top of the range furniture, towels, bed linen etc. Great host who kindly said we could arrive a little earlier which was an extra bonus. Also lovely showers with plenty of hot water and ample parking. In fact I dont think he did himself proud in the description of the inside of the property as it was quite exceptional. However, there were a few items that were missing which I thought to privately message him about and a couple of suggestions to make which would hopefully, enhance the property.
Lovely property high standard of decor ample room for 10 adults plenty of ... Lovely property high standard of decor ample room for 10 adults plenty of parking all set in quiet farm surroundings Pool table, Hot tub, table tennis all used & enjoyed great area for walking to see the farm animals & wild flower meadows with hares hoping through Martin the owner very helpful & attentive & the tray of eggs on arrival was very much appreciated Would definitely recommend
Just back from a wonderful weekend at The Anchorage. Both the property and surroundings are beautiful. It was an ideal place to spend a relaxing weekend with friends. We loved the hot tub thank you to lovey host, Martin, for helping us to get the fire going on the first night and we really enjoyed a walk around the farm and bluebell woods. The property itself is stunning! Beautifully appointed bedrooms, huge kitchen and living room and the wonderful suntrap terrace. We loved everything about The Anchorage and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.
Daniel
The hosts were amazing, nothing was too much for them. The property was spotless and exactly as advertised. We would stay here again, infact we are looking at trying to set a date again for next year.
