Ramblers Retreat Reviews

Perfect
3 night stay at Ramblers Retreat and it just wasn't long enough. What a perfect hideaway, tucked right at the very edge of Settle. Turn right for a short walk into Settle Town, turn left to take yourselves straight into the most amazing countryside. The cottage itself is fantastic, seems like everything has been thought of, we both felt so comfortable that it was almost like staying in a friend's place and we were housesitting for them. The comfort, facilities, decor, layout....everything just suited us, within 5 minutes we felt so lucky we had plumped for Ramblers Retreat. Relaxing in the the hot tub with a black nightsky and a full moon right above us was all we needed to help us relax and make memories. Would definitely visit again. Thank you to the owners, spot on.
Lovely, well equipped and spotlessly clean
Very close to the centre, just a 10 minute walk. Some lovely pubs, especially liked the talbot arms. The owners are really helpful. Great weeks stay, spot on!
Absolute delightful
We stayed at the ramblers retreat in settle on 27th and 28 Januar, first impressions was very good, excellent to be honest, good parking outside, of the cottage itself has a lovely warm vibe to, bathroom is a high standard, bedrooms the same, the kitchen and living area is lovely, with a nice dining table, TV is Freeview play that you can use apps on, free WiFi and a strong signal, woodburner in living room and hot tub outside which just topped off a perfect stay, settle is nice town with lots of good shops, pubs and restaurant, there is co op and booths is close by, great walking trails and waterfalls, the watershed mill is worth a visit with a cafe, totally recommend the ramblers retreat, the owner even checked we found it ok, which was a nice touch. We would love to return
FANTASTIC
Stayed at Ramblers retreat in May 2022 for my birthday. What a fantastic cottage, every thing had been thought of, modern equipment a cosy comfortable bed along with a great nights sleep, nice up-to date walk in shower. The hot tub was so welcome after days out walking its so private and so nice to chill out even with nothing on with a glass of wine. The owner Chris was very informative and attentive especially with the bottle of prosecco and milk. We will definitely return to this bit of heaven and would very highly recommend Ramblers Retreat to everyone.
Fantastic
Stayed here a couple of months ago . Fantastic cottage in brilliant location. So good we?ve booked again
Wife's birthday
This is such a lovely cottage. There is nothing been left out. Very clean and done to a high standard. Will be booking again in the future. 15 minute walk into town where there are some lovely places to eat.
Lovely week away
Lovely cottage in good location. Literary in the middle of the countryside but not too far from town centre. Parking for your car. The cottage has everything you could need. Hot tub is a major plus for us and its totally secluded so no problems wanting to get in. All the pubs around do good food. We took our dog and was spoilt for choice of the amount of pubs.
Fantastic weekend what a beautiful place, do not miss out!
Had a lovely weekend, the cottage is beautiful and clean. You feel like your at home as soon as you get in there. The owners clearly are very clever as they have thought of absolutely everything you could possibly need. It caters not only for couples but for children and animals too which is truly amazing. The town of Settle is a 5 minute walk away with lovely pubs, restaurants and antique shops. The hot tub is a necessity if you want to chill out and relax. We will go there again in a heartbeat.
Fabulous Cottage in Perfect Location!
Wow what a fantastic cottage, everything thought of and lovely extra touches to make your stay totally relaxing and home from home. Me and my friend stayed with our teenage daughters, the hot tub was such a bonus and the girls didn't want to go home. The cottage is in the perfect location for walking and visiting villages, the short walk into Settle to eat out was great and highly recommend Sydney's wine bar fab food and cocktails. We would definitely recommend and can't wait to stay again, a credit to the owners 5?
A stunning cottage in a fantastic location
You can tell a lot of love and effort was put in to ensuring our stay was enjoyable and comfortable. We couldn't fault any aspect of our stay. Highly recommended and will definitely be returning.
Wow, loved it here!!
Brilliant accommodation. Cosy with everything you might need and more!!! Lots of extras that I wouldn't usually expect in a holiday home such as coffee machine and wine fridge. Great for cyclists too, we stored our bikes in the locked, secure storage available in the cellar (access from back garden so you don't have to trail bikes through the property) Really comfortable beds and pillows. Very clean, spacious and modern. The location is excellent too and the views, wow!! Very close to many tourist attractions and great walks. Some great places to eat and too. Would highly recommend this property and we will be returning again soon as would love to explore the area more.
Lovely cottage with great facilities. Very friendly and attentive owner in that they made sure we were happy and that if we had any questions or queries then to calltext them.
Jonathan
Beautiful property to chill out and lovely walks all around. Close to shops and pubs.
Very well equipped and comfortable cottage just a short walk from the centre of Settle. Felt really at home here. Fabulous walks right on the doorstep. Lovely hot tub.
Matthew
Brilliant property so comfortable and in a great location. Everything we could have needed was provided and owner went to extra effort to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Hot tub is a major plus!
The loveliest location and the scenic walks on the doorstep make this a wonderful stay. The cottage is 'upside down' which we love! The hot tub too! We will be returning.
Very comfortable beds. Hot tub lovely and private. A very well equipped kitchen. Lots of books and games for adults and children to enjoy if the weather is poor Good position to explore the Dales and only a short walk into Settle which has some great pubs and take aways and a small supermarket for supplies. Would definitely revisit
Lovely well thought out property, great location and well presented. The only slight suggestion would be table inside the front door of some kind, because its an upside down home and you come in from the hot tub a table to rest a drink on would be of benefit
Andrew
Ideally situated for pleasant walks through the dales and the local facilities was very good.

A fantastic place to stay for a relaxing holiday. Very well equipped, clean and comfortable.
Lovely property in an ideal location, less than 10 minutes walk from the centre of Settle, with various pubs, restaurants and shops as well as a public swimming pool. The cottage has everything you need, the owners have thought of everything including a wide selection of books and toys and games for all ages, which would have come in very handy had the weather not been so good while we were there.
Really comfy cottage, like home from home. Nice and spacious inside. Surprisingly quiet to say its on a main road. Loved relaxing in the hot tub after walking the Dales.
Lovely relaxing place with plenty of space and every facility provided. Great base to explore all over and good value. Would recommend.
Lovely cottage great location walkers heaven. Having a washing machine was ideal for our muddy gear after a day on the hills. You tub a must just the best way to relax
Anthony
Excellent stay, could not have asked for anything more. Cottage has everything you could think of. Local area is nice and great base to travel to other places of interest. Host communicated well and left some nice gifts on arrival. Will come back.
Cannot fault the place. Excellent location, warm, comfortable, very homely. All the attention to detail and human touches were much appreciated.
Great property beautifully presented and fully equipped.
Louise
What a beautiful property, nipping clean and so comfortable, it was like being in a home not a rental cottage. the new wood burner makes the living room cosy and warm, the open plan upstairs is fabulous, the attention to detail is so nice, quirky things all over the place makes it really special. I have to say the beds are the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Beautiful new bathroom with a power over head shower, I could have stayed in there. The hot tub is relaxing and very private a lovely touch. Just outside the town and a lovely walk down and around the countryside. we will be back its is honestly perfect. the hosts were also fantastic, friendly and the Fizz was a lovely touch. thank you so much
We stayed at the Ramblers Retreat over the New Year and it was perfect for us. There were 4 of us and our dog, the garden is secure for the dog and was perfect for him! The place was warm and comfortable. Bedrooms were spacious and comfy. It was lovely going in the hot tub when it was raining! Also Chris was very good calling me the morning we arrived to check to see if we needed anything and they also left us a bottle of fizz to see in the New Year! Chris also very kindly said we could have a later check out which was very handy after New Years Eve!

Lovely cozy cottage within 5 minute walk of Settle centre. Clean and very well equipped for 4 adults. Good base for Grassington, Malham and Skipton.
Stephen
Had a great week in a well appointed cottage which was within a 10 minute walk into Settle. A lovely and relaxing place to come back to after a day in the hills. A good selection of DVD's and books to relax with whilst enjoying the bottle of Prosecco which was left by the hosts.
Excellent accommodation everything provided for a relaxing holiday Owners ... Excellent accommodation everything provided for a relaxing holiday Owners very thoughtful with hints and tips about the area
Andrew
Fab stay from the 5th to the 12th of August we had great weather so had to get up early for some lovely morning walks before the heat hit us. The cottage has everything you need as a base in the Yorkshire dales and the hot tub in the sunshine was such a great place to relax.
Great holiday and would definitely recommend the property and stay here again!
Perfect for a relaxing break
Chris made us feel welcome just by providing a lovely cottage and phoned to advise us about a change in bin collection. We will be rebooking!
We had a great time, the cottage is situated just on the edge of Settle with just a few minutes walk to shops, pubs and the railway station. The cottage is well equipped with everything thought of, although the outside seating is a little tired. The hot tub is great and we used it everyday. Parking is just outside at the front. Behind the cottage is the mill shop and cafe, but this does not affect the cottage as you look over the top of the mill from the cottage. For those with mobility issues access would be difficult as you have to go down steps, across the yard and then up more steps to the front door. Some of the steps are uneven. Thank you for the Prosecco and milk, always welcome! We will probably be back
