Stable Cottage Reviews

A gem of a cottage, lovely setting, such a warm welcome, Paula and Johnathan have thought of everything and more to make you feel home from home, the hideaway, games area, and hot tub makes even the dullest days enjoyable. The birdfeeders are always full of diners and Peaches the cat loves to greet you home after a day out site seeing. Definitely one to revisit.

This is an extremely well appointed cottage. Spacious with the added bonus of a covered all weather seating area and games room. Lovely hot tub and sunlounges to relax. Fluffy white bath robes. Spotlessly clean and peacefully quiet, surrounded by fields. Dark night sky and plenty of birdlife. Very well made drive in.
Andrew
The property was everything we had imagined and has been very thoughtful furnished with everything we need for a fantastic holiday.
Y Stabal was clean and inviting. A perfect and quiet cottage with a lot of comfort. The cottage was well equipped with all essentials. The extras were a pleasent surprise. The hot tub was welcome and used every day in the evening. The cottage is in a quiet location and made a central point for our holiday so we could explore the surrounding area. Internet connection was excellent. If we come to the Pwllheli area again, the cottage will be on our list to rebook. It was a nice touch that the owners sent a welcome text.
A perfect Cottage in a very quiet location but also not too far away from the coast and places of interest. A lot of thought has gone into comfort and decor and the pleasant owners are on hand but not intrusive. The bird feeders, which magically refilled, attracted a great variety of birds and we enjoyed seeing how many species visited. Also the unexpected welcoming touches were appreciated.
Andrew
We had a lovely week, the cottage was comfortable and well equipped. We loved having the extra space & facilities outside. There were also some extras provided that you wouldnt normally expect. The main WiFi wasnt working when we arrived but an alternative solution was made available until the WiFi was fixed later in the week. Would definitely recommend!
A gem of a holiday cottage , so peaceful and quiet with an away from it all feel but only a short drive to lovely places on the Llyn peninsula. Easy access and parking. Very clean and everything in the cottage of a very high standard. Loved sitting in the courtyard garden watching the birds or in the hot tub. The chill out barns also a great feature. Some unexpected extras provided which were lovely.
Matthew
A fantastic cottage, so well equipped, and so many beautiful places nearby. We really enjoyed our stay!
Absolutely perfect holiday cottage, nothing could be improved at all! We are away approx 39 times a year and this cottage is in the top 3, spotless, well equipt and very comfortable, we loved out stay here.
Thoroughly enjoyed staying in such a Lovey cottage in a beautiful setting. The cottage is very handy for exploring the surrounding areas. Everything and everyone is catered for at the cottage and the Owners have clearly put a lot of thought and effort into making our stay very enjoyable. It really didnt matter if it rained or shined, we had something to keep us occupied. We would certainly recommend it to anyone wishing to visit Wales.
Absolutely beautiful cottage, we had such a luxury stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and the scenery, being in the heart of nature and surrounded by beautiful birds of all kinds and squirrels was stunning. We enjoyed games of pool and darts in the games room, hot tub at any time of the day, we enjoyed it in the day as we got to hear the sounds of nature. Amazing bedding and comfy bed. Beautiful welcome pack with lovely local treats. Amazing owners with lovely dogs and cats that come to say hello. We will definitely be back, it was paradise! Thank you Paula and Jonathon.
Without a doubt, the best holiday cottage we have stayed at! This was our second time at Stable Cottage and, once again, it was a lovely experience. Everything has been thought about to ensure that your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Plus the beds are really comfy which is so important for a good night's sleep. We cannot recommend this cottage highly enough and would say to anyone thinking of staying here just book it, you will be so glad you did!
We absolutely loved our stay here! The place was spotless, and comfortable. We loved all the animals and had made good friends with the horse and Peaches the cat by the end of the week! The hot tub was just divine, and we booked the perfect week in the middle of a heat wave so we very much enjoyed the sun loungers during our stay. The honesty shop was also a lovely feature. The barns that have been converted into chill out rooms are just gorgeous and the pictures on here don't do them any justice as they are more gorgeous in real life! The only downsides we had were the shower that wouldn't drain properly and kept over flowing onto the floor. We found a plunger at the property that we used everyday, but didn't quite fix the problem. Also the silver drain cover of the shower kept coming off as the water levels were high and we kept stepping on a sharp bit under the cover. A minor problem, and did not by any means ruin our stay. Another small issue for us was the feather cushions and duvet which set off my asthma. It's our own fault for not checking beforehand, but it would be good to have this listed on your listing. We went to local asda and bought our own pillows. It was too hot for a duvet anyway so we just used the blanket. It was no drama and again didn't put us off! We had a beautiful relaxing week and we would definitely come again!
Jacqueline
We had a fabulous week in the cottage. Our boys age 8 and 14 loved the barn with the darts, pool etc and the swing ball was well used! The hot tub was lovely and warm, a wonderful luxury to enjoy especially under the stars. The cottage is beautifully decorated and furnished, very cosy, lots of little extra touches and a well equipped kitchen. It is a great base for exploring the area, we loved our time there so much that we didn't want to go home! Paula and Jonathan are great hosts, we are very grateful for all their help after our car broke down on our way to the cottage. We eventually arrived late at night to find all the lights on, music playing and a lovely basket of goodies! They also helped us find a local garage and offered a lift to get the car repaired. Thank you so much, hopefully we will be back again one day!
Lovely cottage, in great private location, peaceful and quiet. Fantastic facilities with outside games room that our daughter loved especially the swing chair, we also loved the outside living area where we had dinner alfresco and were able to sit relax and read in the evening. Hot tub was lovely in the evening after days at the local beaches. Paula and Jonathan were great hosts, lovely little touches with welcome pack and chocolates, bird watching kit and dressing gowns and slippers! Paula and Jonathan were available if we needed them but left us in peace, perfect. We will be back.
Second time we have stayed here and we probably will again. Great facilities kept in great condition in a fantastic area.
We really enjoyed our stay here!
Allison
Lovely comfortable cottage which was very very clean with everything needed for a great holiday. Great outside barns, but a bit chilly in spring!,. We had issues with the hot tub so couldn't use it properly until our last night which was a shame as hot tubs do increase prices of bookings. Great hosts who were super friendly and attended very quickly to any issues we had. Would highly recommend.
We had another fantastic stay! A lovely, comfortable and well equipped cottage. We loved making use of the hot tub and playing games in the hideaway it was great to still be able to use the outside space in the winter. Thank you to the owners for going above and beyond to make our holiday special. We hope to return!
Stable Cottage is a stunning property and very well laid out. It has all the facilities you could ever need for a holiday or break. The welcome hamper was overflowing with goodies and completely unexpected. We did meet Paula and she was so friendly.
The best holiday cottage we have stayed in. It has everything and more. Lots of extras the generous hosts have thought of. Hot tub fabulous. Out buildings an added bonus. Very helpful owners. We had a lovely stay and hope to go back soon. Congratulations Paula and Jonathan on creating the perfect holiday home.
This cottage is truly wonderful. The hosts have thought of everything to make staying here the best it can be. As soon as you walk in, you know you are somewhere special. We would recommend this as a quality, comfortable holiday home without hesitation. Thank you to our kind and thoughtful hosts for the brilliant holiday they have given us!
Alison
Stable Cottage is a fantastic place to stay. The cottage had everything we needed and more. The Hideaway and the hot tub provided a little extra something compared to other cottages weve stayed in. The games room was fun. Would highly recommend this property.
Colette
Our stay was very comfortable! The house has everything you need comfy beds, binoculars for the bird watching, well kitted kitchen, good wifi, and lots of other comforts. The hot tub was a winner all round, as well as the extra space outside with the pool table. The bathrobes and lovely welcome pack helped make it feel a luxurious stay. Great location only 10 mins to Pwllheli and lots of lovely places to visit within 30 mins. We had a great holiday with our 2 teenagers. Thank you!!
What an amazing property! The hosts have made a fantastic holiday getaway. From the treats and welcome pack on arrival, small details such as the decorations on the towels through to the amazing honesty shop, it made it not just some accommodation, but part of the holiday. I cant recommend this property enough and look forward to returning at some stage!
Ciaran
A fantastic cottage with great outside space and well situated to access the beautiful LLyn Peninsula. Cannot recommend enough. The welcome basket was much appreciated, as were the visits from Dolly dog and Peaches cat. It was lovely to sit outside and watch the birds and the horses in the field too. We enjoyed using the hot tub even on the very hot days! Lots of love, care and thought has been put into Stable Cottag it is a really lovely space inside and outside. We would happily return.
Just come back from a brilliant week at Stable Cottage. Paula and Johnathon have gone all out in providing a very nice, comfortable and extremely well equipped place to stay whatever the weather!!. Everything was as described together with lots of little extras that you would normally expect to have to provide yourself with other cottages. Little things like providing enough dishwasher tablets and all cleaning products for the duration of our stay, together with an excellent welcome hamper were very appreciated and shows how far they have gone to make your stay the best. High quality bedding and towels were also appreciated, there were even bathrobes though we did not use them on this occasion but still a very nice touch. We spent many hours in the evenings in the hot tub which had 2 lounger style seats in it handy for us as there were only 2 of us there so no fighting over the best seat in the tub!! We also used the games barn and hideaway when we had our chillout day when the weather was not as pleasant and we didn't fancy spending the day in the rain. If you like animals the family dogs and cats will randomly come round from the owners neighboring property and visit for lots of fuss and cuddles, and we had the pleasure of seeing Molly the pony for most of the week in the fields opposite. Lots of birds to watch feeding from the various feeders and bird tables while you sit in the dining room as you drink your morning coffee or tea. I think that one of the best ways you could say how good Stable Cottage is, would be to ask if we would go back again in the future to which the answer would be Absolutely!!! Thanks Paula and Johnathon, your Cottage is a credit to you both and we thoroughly enjoyed our week. Look forward to coming back again in the future. Paul and Ali
I cant recommend this property highly enough. The photographs dont do it justice. So many lively touches, the quality of the fixtures, the bedding, the facilities on site. Unbelievable. It felt like we were at home rather than in a rental. Absolutely superb. Owners were friendly but discreet and the constant movement of wild birds on the feeders, were a constant joy. This is an absolute gem of a property ! The honesty shop a lovely touch and the hot tub was excellent. Love love loved it! Cant wait to return
Robbie
What a little gem of a place tucked away in lovely countryside on a private courtyard of the discreet owners property. Perfectly situated on the Llyn Peninsula with easy access to coastal walks, beaches as well as local towns such as Pwllheli and Criccieth. The property was furnished to a high standard and immaculately presented with lots of extra special touches such as a very generous welcome pack, bathrobes and even an honesty shop with essential supplies. The hot tub was a great way to relax after dark and watch the stars if youre lucky enough to have a clear night sky! The Hideaway was a nice area to sit with a glass of wine in the evening and we had great fun playing pool in the games area. Paula and Jonathan were very attentive and friendly hosts and have put a lot of thought and energy into creating a lovely place to spend a break away and we would highly recommend this beautiful little cottage in North Wales.
Lovely property in a fantastic setting. The property is even better than the pictures suggest.
Excellent and very well presented cottage. Lots of extra special touches that made the long weekend away one to remember. We felt the full force of storm Dudly, Eunice & Franklin but the hot tub and log burner helped keep us warm!
Adrian
What an amazing place run buy amazing caring people. they both really couldn't do enough for us, it felt like staying with family just amazing. the birds the dogs and setting was second to none. if your lucky enough to meet the dogs that is. the hot tub was unreal with all the birds near by on the feeders. the standard in the cottage was 1010 and so many free gift upon arrival . thanks for making our long weekend amazing . keep doing what your doing we WILL BE BACK. and not in an Austrian accent .
The holiday property was fantastic. It was extremely clean and very comfortable. The owners had clearly thought of everything and the recent addition of the hot tub was great. Ideally placed for trips out to the beautiful coastline or other attractions. we cannot recommend this property highly enough and would like to return in the future.
Claire
Y Stabal is a lovely little cottage with so much extra thought and attention given by the owners to make your stay even more memorable and comfortable. We made full use of the hot tub, outdoor games room and log fire weather was hideous for most of our stay!. The location was ideal for seeing all that the local areas have to offer. We hope to come back again next summer.
Very welcoming clean and tidy. Nice extra touches such as hideaway jacuzzi, and welcome pack. Also central for travelling around.
Robert
We both thoroughly enjoyed our time at Stable Cottage. On arrival, the whole place was very clean & well dressed. It is perfectly located as a base to explore the region's sights & sounds, with lots of places within 30 minutes drive. After a busy day out it was great to relax in the newly installed jacuzzihot tub or have a few games of pool in the barn before dinner. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen in which to cook your evening meal, & the lounge served as our movie theatre most nights. The bedrooms are cosy & the powerful shower made for a refreshing start to each day! Thanks for having us, Hazel & Rob
The cottage was very equipped and was very clean. Everything in the cottage was high quality. We particularly liked the outdoor space , great use has been made of the garden and outbuildings which really added to the holiday experience
Fantastic cottage. Clean, welcoming and thoughtfully equipped. Perfect for a family holiday or couples getaway. Loved the additional outdoor space, great for warm summer evenings or to cosy up on cooler nights. The children loved the games room and it was great to have a large safe area for them to play outside.
