Old Beams Reviews

Emma
We just got back from a lovely weekend at Old Beams Cottage. Every year, we head to the Peak District with a bunch of old friendsand this place easily made it into our top favourites. The cottage’s kept really nice, with super comfy beds and a kitchen that’s got everything you could need. The conservatory was a highlight-perfect for dancing, breakfast, or just relaxing. The hot tub is a decent size, really cleanand adds a nice touch. Plus, there’s a pub just 10 minutes walk away, which is handy. We’re already booked to come back!
Emily
Huge place but super cosy, with everything we needed and lovely hosts. Parking was really good too!

The huge dining area and cosy nooks made it perfect for our family gathering. The bedrooms are super comfy and tastefully decorated. Hosts were lovely, leaving us scones, jam, clotted creamand even some prosecco! There was plenty of cleaning supplies and condiments too. Definitely a great find for a family getaway!

We had an absolutely cracking weekend at The Old Beams! Being local, we’d been eager to stay here for agesand it definitely didn’t disappoint - even more stunning inside than it looks from the outside. We celebrated my 40th with 16 friends, including a private chefand everyone loved how well-equipped and comfy everything was. The hot tub was a hitand making pizzas together was such a fun touch. Quirky, modernand just right for a big group - we’ll be back for sure!
Fiona

Emma
We had an amazing week at this place! The house was spotless and really well looked after. There was loads of room for all of us - me, my partnerand our three kids plus their families - total of 13! The conservatory was perfect for the kids to play and for everyone to gather around for meals. The garden is massive, with a cosy corner featuring a pizza oven, BBQ, hot tuband comfy seating. It’s ideal for relaxing evenings. We loved our stay and would definitely come back. Highly recommend!
Emma
We had a lovely stay at this cottage! The bedrooms were comfy and the large conservatory was perfect for our family gathering. The kitchen was well-stocked with two fridges, a freezerand an extra fridge in the back boot room, which was really handy. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub too. Just a heads-up - it’s near a main road, so you might hear some traffic during the day, but it didn’t bother us overnight. The old floors are a bit creaky, so sleep can be a tad disrupted for babies. Overall, a great place!
Emily
We had a fantastic stay and are already planning to return. The hosts really went out of their way to make us feel welcome, especially with the lovely homemade scones and prosecco on arrival. The kitchen was hands down the best equipped we've seen, which made cooking a pleasure. The dining area was perfect for our groupand we enjoyed plenty of memorable meals and games. Plus, being close to Leek and Ashbourne with cycle hire nearby was a real bonus!
Emma
We had a really lovely stay at this charming house. It’s super well-equipped and comfortable. Gill and Jonathan were always helpful if we needed anything, which made everything so much easier. Definitely hoping to return sometime soon!
Emily
We loved the quirky charm and history of this house, it felt really special. The spacious garden and large rooms meant everyone had plenty of space to relax and play. The owners were super helpful and always there if we needed anything, which was great. The welcome pack was a nice touch. Only downside was finding dog poo on the grass while playing outside with the kids - a bit of a health risk. Pet owners really need to be responsible about cleaning up after their dogs!
Amelia
Really enjoyed our stay, friendly hosts and lovely atmosphere.
Emma
We had a fantastic time at Old Beams! The dining hall was charming and the jacuzzi terrace a real treat. The house was perfect for our groupand Gill & Jonathan couldn’t have been more helpful. Definitely a place we’d visit again!
Emily
We had a great weekend at this cosy house with friends. There were 11 of us and everyone had plenty of space, so no one felt cramped. The beds were super comfyand the house really has a lovely charm about it. We appreciated the thoughtful housewarming gifts too. The hosts were really helpful and quick to respond whenever we had questions, especially with that handy text contact. Sadly, it was a bit windy during our stay, so we couldn't try the hot tub, but I can imagine it’ll be perfect in the summer sun! Would definitely recommend.
Emma Carter
The rooms were spacious, the garden lovelyand the place overall really comfortable. We’d return!
James
We had a fantastic stay at Old Beams with a group of friends in our 50s. The house was really spacious, spotlessly cleanand super comfy. The kitchen was one of the best we've seen - fully equipped and perfect for cooking together. The dining room with underfloor heating was ideal for our group of 14. Plus, there's a cosy pub just a few minutes’ walk and easy access to the Manifold Track for walks. Definitely recommend it!
