The Wood Shed, Bank Top Farm Reviews

As a last minute booking we felt like wed struck gold! The Wood Shed is just stunning and is stylishly furnished with everything you could need for a wonderful holiday. It is perfectly situated at the base of the Peak District with so much to see and do nearby. Karl is the most helpful host and a lovely guy, he is clearly proud of what he has created and justifiably so. We saw Red Kites in the skies above and to our delight a Woodpecker and an abundance of Blue and other tits on the bird feeders we took with us. The views from the cottage are amazing. Just try it and see! We will be back! Thank you for sharing kindest regards Sally and Wal and for the fizz and flowers Ps Netflix was an added bonus on the Smart TVs we got to watch the much hyped Fool me once

Me and my boyfriend have had the best time at The Wood Shed. It's the perfect little retreat for a couple. Karl was really lovely and he met us when we arrived and showed us around the cottage, we were welcomed with a bottle of prosecco and fresh flowers. The cottage is decorated lovely and very clean. It has everything you need such as the well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and smart TV's. The guide book has lots of good information in it about the local area, we actually only live 20 minutes away from the cottage but it felt like we were miles from home as it was so peaceful being out in the countryside. The hot tub was also a super nice treat. We had a lovely relaxing stay and would love to come back to recharge the batteries again! Thank you Karl, Helen and Pip, we highly recommend
This was a It was a last minute decision to go away on retreat on boxing day as a reset. This was literally the perfect property. Beautifully maintained and immaculate throughout. The highlight was meditation in the hot tub under the stars every night. Karl was the perfect host, I highly recommended this property... I'll definitely be back!
Absolutely brilliant! Had the best of times, definitely will be coming back! The owners are brilliant and very welcoming. If you're looking for a romantic break away, this is you're place!

We had a lovely weekend stay at the Woodshed. Karl was a fantastic host, and has clearly put a lot of time and thought into the cottage, with special touches and very detailed local information which was super helpful. The cottage itself was one of the best kitted out I've stayed in, particularly if you are going to be cooking, which we did! A few perfect evenings of bbq, sipping wine in the hot tub and gazing at the stars was just what we needed would highly recommend a visit if you're coming to the area. Thanks Karl!

The property and surrounding area are absolutely lovely! Theres plenty to do, and if you want to relax the jacuzzi and view is stunning. The kitchen is wellequipped if you want to make dinner rather than dine out. Karl was an amazing host, very attentive and friendly. We would absolutely come back

This cottage is worthy of the 5 stars . On our arrival we were met by Karl and and received a wonderful warm welcome and the chilled bottle and flowers were very much appreciated as we had booked for my wife's birthday.Karl was able to recommend a superb place for a meal and had a wonderful evening there. The highlight being the ride in the back of the 2CV with the roof back ! Next time I bring mine . The place is faultless, spotlessly clean and in a superb location overlooking the countryside to the hills. There is parking space and its easy to find with full directions .It's a perfect place to explore the area or just chill out. I have no doubts in recomending this place, I just hope that we will be able to book it when we want to return as it will no doubt be a popular cottage very soon

Really great stay. Great comfort and attention to detail, really friendly welcoming hosts. Beautiful setting. We enjoyed a wonderful relaxing weekend thank you
An absolutely wonderful property with so many nice touches it is very clear that Karl and family take pride in their offering. The prosecco on arrival was a nice thought and gratefully received, whilst the property itself has comfortable furniture, a really nice sized bed, a great shower etc and the hot tub just tops it all off. We found it to be a good location for the exploring we wanted to do and an enticing base to return to the hot tub again for evenings. The welcome pack was incredibly useful and we ate at two of the food places recommended and second both of them! Highly recommend a stay here and our thanks to Karl and family for such a lovely break.

We stayed in the Wood Shed for three nights over the weekend. The views are fantastic and the area is amazing, there's so much to do. Karl was an amazing host, super accommodating and very friendly! The hot tub has to be the best part by far, the sunsets and sunrises in the hot tub are fantastic. Our only gripe was a stain behind the toilet but other than that we would really recommend! Thanks for having us Karl.

The stay was amazing, from being greeted on arrival with Prosecco and a very friendly helpful host, to the lovely place with gorgeous views in the most relaxing setting. The Wood Shed has everything you need, clean modern and comfortable with a gorgeous design. I would recommend to anyone wanting a lovely week or weekend get away.
Really enjoyed our stay. Karl ensured that everything was as it should be, the fresh flowers and Prosecco on ice were a lovely touch. The hot tub, gas barbecue and outdoor dining set were available on the decking if we wanted them. The cottage is less than 6 months old so is very clean and fresh. We would recommend to any couples wanting a short break.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Wood Shed and would recommend it. The facilities were clean and tidy and the attention to detail was evident. The hot tub was perfect to relax and chill while the location was great to go for a few different walks. Karl was a great host and on hand if we had needed anything so thanks a lot.

Horace
Beautiful well equipped property. Comfy bed. Lovely view outside, seating area and hot tub.
A perfect property for a short break. A lot of thought has been given to the facilities provided and anything not catered for I'm sure would have been addressed by the owner who is close to hand and happy and willing to help. No complaints whatsoever. Kath

To mirror previous reviews, this very clean, cosy, wellappointed cottage has everything a couple visiting the area could possibly want or need. The personal welcome from host, Karl along a bottle of chilled Prosecco and fresh flowers were very nice touches. The cottage is well equipped with a lovely shower room and an extremely comfortable bed. The hot tub, sun deck and view across the meadow were just added bonuses. As others have mentioned Karl is a superb host and nothing is too much trouble for him. This cottage is ideally situated to explore the surrounding area both locally and further afield within the Peak District. I cannot recommend this property enough.
What a lovely and wonderful place. If your after a nice quiet break, this is definitely the place to stay. Karl the owner is a really nice chap and can't do enough for you to have a memorable stay. Rating 1010

Our stay at the Woodshed was absolutely magical! The sheer level of hospitality and thoughtfulness shown by the owners is completely unmatched. They have absolutely thought of everything and more to include in the cottage! The cottage includes everything youd need for a romantic getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city, with all the best amenities required, the most heavenly of beds and views of the sunset from the hot tub to complete a wonderful day. The owners were always available and helpful. In all our travelling we have never met owners who made us feel so at home as they did and we are truly grateful for that. I cannot rave enough about how great of an experience it was and we will most certainly be regular visitors!
Kathleen
Cannot recommend The Wood Shed at Bank Top Farm highly enough, our stay was for seven days and we loved every minute it was so relaxing especially the hot tub , also the bed was so comfy and massive bigger than a king size and the bedding was good quality like everything else in the Wood Shed. Karl the owner is lovely nothing to much trouble, when we arrived there was a bottle of Prosecco chilling in an ice bucket and fresh flowers in a vase , will certainly book another stay in the near future.
