Deer Lodge Reviews

Kellie & Steve have literally thought of everything that you may need for your stay. An absolutely great escape, with deer walking in your garden, the hawks flying above, and even a sea lion came up on the beach at Durdle Door when we visited. Wimborne minster is the closest quaint village with some lovely shops and pubs restaurants
Absolutely lovely, everything you needed. Finished ro a high standard with a really comfortable bed. Very peaceful and private. We will return.
We had a lovely relaxing holiday in a lodge that was tastefully furnished. Everything so clean and well maintained. Excellent information pack which made our stay even more enjoyable. Exceptionally comfy bed. In the hot tub everyday watching the deer graze the fields. Nice touches in the woodland area with the fire pits, swings, croquet and chairs dotted about the place. We were sorry to leave.
Debbie
We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at Deer Lodge. The lodge and grounds were amazing and so well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Such a luxury to experience the great outdoors and picnic and bbq in the woods. Kellie and Steve are first class hosts and I would definitely recommend Deer Lodge to friends and family.
Sharon
This was our 2nd visit to Deer Lodge and once again everything was perfect. Steve and Kellie are such lovely hosts. They greet you on your arrival, explain how to use the hot tub and answer any questions you may have about places to visit or whatever else you want to know and then they leave you to enjoy your holiday as you wish. On your arrival you have a welcome message and goodies left for you. The wildlife is a wonderful sight to see from the deers, fox, rabbits and birds. The hot tub is a pleasure after you have explored what many wonderful things and places Dorset has to offer. Bath robes are supplied for you to use after using the hot tub which is a thoughtful added extra. The land is free for you to wander around as you wish making use of the croquet, swings, seats, shelter and firepits. Steve and Kellie have thought of everything inside the lodge and outside of it to make your stay perfect. Well done to you both for providing such a beautiful place to stay.
As we wrote in the Guest Book, a beautiful place set in lovely land with amazing wildlife. Lots of places to visit nearby such as Kingston Lacy, Sculpture by the Lakes and the boat from Poole to Brownsea Island. We just wished we could turn off the traffic noise obviously out of Kellie and Steve's control hence 4 out of 5 stars.
We received a warm and friendly welcoming from Kellie and Steve they explained everything we needed to know , the lodge is kitted out with everything you need plus little extras, the lodge is private set in its own area of land very relaxing and perfect for a tea time stroll, the hot tub is set at the exact temperature perfect to relax to with a tipple of your choice , overhaul it was a lovely relaxing and peaceful break, we recommend.
We really enjoyed our week at Deer Lodge. It was a perfect base for exploring the beautiful Dorset area. The lodge was cosy and warm, spotlessly clean and had everything you could wish for including a very comfortable king size bed.The wildlife you could see from the lodge was amazing, deer, rabbits and a fox, lots of different birds and it was great to also have the luxury of a hot tub. Thankyou for a great holiday.
Elaine
Just returned from a 3 night stay at Deer Lodge, it is set in a quite location just right for a relaxing and romantic break, the accommodation was beautifully set out with everything you could need available, and to sit in the hot tub watching the deer was a lovely way to chill in the evenings. Lovely property 10 out of 10
Very pleased with the property, very comfortable and everything had been provided that we needed. The owners were very friendly and the information left in the lodge was absolutely first class. Very handy that the pub was just 100 yards down the road with really good food and pleasant staff. Also the lodge was in an ideal place for touring around the local area but if you just need to chill out the lodge was in a very quiet area being able to look out at the field in front and able to see the deer. We hope that we will be able to come back in the future.
Joanna
Deer Lodge was beautifully designed, very clean and extremely well equipped to a high standard. Everything had been thought of to make the stay special including cake & bubbly on arrival. We enjoyed watching the local wildlife, exploring walks from the property, star gazing from the hot tub and listening to the owls whilst toasting crumpets on the fire pit located in the woods. We will be back!
Deer Lodge is delightful! Cosy and luxurious in beautiful surroundings, perfect base for exploring Dorset.
We had a lovely week at Deer cottage, would highly recommend

This place is amazing! Such a lovely lodge, perfectly big enough for the two of us, for a 4 night stay. Its got absolutely everything you need, so comfy, and I have to do a special shout out to the best welcome folder Ive seen! So much useful info! Kellie and Steve were so welcoming and worked around us for their daily hot tub check! The grounds are beautiful and so peaceful. We loved watching the deer and fox in the evenings while chilling in the hot tub! We really enjoyed the gentle walk up to the Willetts Arms for some yummy food and drinks in the sunshine. We had such a lovely time and will definitely be coming back again!!
Lovely accommodation with everything that you need for a peaceful relaxing holiday set in wonderful surroundings with the addition of a hot tub and wildlife. 5 all round.
Sharon
Deer Lodge is absolutely perfect for a getaway. Everything you need is provided and the hosts Kellie and Steve are very welcoming. It's lovely to sit in the hot tub after a day exploring nearby places which are just a short drive or walk away and watch the deers, rabbits, swallows and the fox coming down to play or graze.
We really enjoyed our week in Deer Lodge. The setting and facilities were perfect for our week away. Wimborne Minster is a delightful town on your doorstep and there are many other attractions a short drive away. Thank you Kellie and Steve.
Judith
Excellent property everything you need is provided The additional outside space is great lovely walk around the grounds and loved seeing the wildlife so close to the lodge . Hot tub is great and the welcome gift was much appreciated we would love to revisit in the future .
Had an amazing stay at Deer Lodge and we were so lucky with the weather. Peaceful and tranquil setting and the use of the hot tub to watch the stars at night was a bonus. Would definitely recommend a stay here, lots to do out and about with a visit to Brownsea Island a must!
We had the most amazing stay. The lodge was extremely comfortable and finished to a very high standard, the grounds are stunning with the added extra of a large not tub. The hosts Kellie and Steve were very welcoming.
Spencer
We said last year following our stay that we would return, and so true to word, and our recommendations to others, we did. The same week but unfortunately not the same weather. Again faultless. The lodge is so ideally positioned to watch the wildlife right up close, deers, foxes, squirrels, rabbits, oh and the owners 2 Mainecoon cats and 2 sheep. So relaxing to sit in the hot tub watching the wildlife first thing in the morning. Also ideally placed for nearby bars, restaurants and places of interest. Great place to go off on walks in the countryside. The lodge itself is very well equipped. Basically all you need for a great stay. We used the fire pit twice, once to cook our tea flame grilled steak and the other to just sit and relax around with a lite bite, playing on the large Jenga and watching the deers wonder around us. Jenga is a great new addition I cant fault in any way. Everything you need, excellent location, peace and quiet, wildlife on your doorstep, wonderful grounds, great owners who will go the extra mile to make your stay perfect. Thank you Kellie and Steve. You never know, we might be back next year. We highly recommend staying here. Thank you for again making our anniversary celebrations memorable.
Just back from a wonderful stay at Deer Lodge and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a setting so beautiful and tranquil . The lodge itself has everything you would need to make your stay perfect and the hosts , Kellie and Steve are on hand if needed . We cant recommend Deer Lodge highly enough and look forward to returning in the near future .
We went for a long weekend to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. The little touches, attention to detail, the location, the hot tub were all fantastic. Kellie and Steve brilliant hosts.

Stephen
Welcomed by Kellie & Steve on arrival and mentioned they were on hand if anything was required but the set of the accommodation of the venue and information packs meant we didn't need to contact them. Very impressed.
Robert
Lovely accommodation, country side, hot tub, whats not to like, it was an amazing stay
The accomodation was of a high standard, the little touches that were provided as a welcome were really thoughtful. I would have no hesitation in recommending Deer Lodge to couples wanting a relaxed break

Caroline
Such a lovely cottage. Lots of attention to detail and provision of comforts, such as robes, toiletries, tea and coffee. Very welcoming hosts who were friendly and helpful Beautiful surrounding area with lots to do Perfect trip away
Charles
Super property as described in the advert. The owners gave us a warm welcome and left a lovely treats at the lodge fir us to enjoy. Highly recommended.
Spencer
All I can say is that we were not disappointed at all and the recent feedback we read on prior to booking was 100 accurate. The lodge was superb, very clean and had all we needed, even down to a couple of torches for when walking home in the dark. Kellie and Steve had thought of everything. The information folder was very helpful, especially the local walks, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Being so close to Wimborne made it easy for any food shopping and walking to and from for meals out. The local pub was just a minute away, but with so much choice to do, we only used this a couple of times, and with staff shortages, left us a little disappointed. The other local bar, The Willet Arms was just a 30 minute stroll and the food was great. Now back to the lodge, what an amazing view whilst relaxing in the hot tub, eye level to the field. Was saw so much wildlife, deer on a daily basis, foxes, badgers, pheasants, and of course their own sheep and the cats, one of which at a distance looked like a fox! We even watched a fox stalk a badger. The grounds were beautiful, with the bluebells in bloom and extensive walks around the fields. The fire pits are a great idea, using one on our anniversary, to just sit with an amazing view, fire roaring away, before then cooking our tea, whilst sipping champagne. The swings and even the wonky croquette pitch were also nice additions, and good fun. We were after a get away from it all holiday, just for the week and we were not disappointed. Steve and Kellie, being close by, were able to fix a loss of WiFi within minutes, and with meeting us on our arrival to explain the hot tub, and leaving us a bouquet of roses for our anniversary, showed they really cared for their guests. I cant recommend this lodge enough. It exceeded our expectations and I would highly recommend this lodge . Thank you Steve and Kellie for a wonderful stay.
A genuine rural idyll, so peaceful with superb views of the local wildlife. The accommodation was A status. We just loved our short break away. Will definitely be back.
Ronald
Great place, lovely hosts, highly recommend
The owners where great and gave us a friendly welcome. The lodge was very comfortable and well equipped, the hot tube was at the perfect temperature, the location was lovely and very tranquil. We had a very nice and very relaxing stay and will definitely be booking a return visit.
Stephanie
We stayed in Deer Lodge which was beautiful. The view from the hot tub was lovely, we saw deer, foxes, rabbits etc. Robes and slippers for the hot tub use were a plus too. It was so peaceful and very private from the other lodge too which we really liked. Perfect place to relax, unwind and explore!
Deer Lodge is an absolute gem of a place to stay! We loved everything about it from the views of the fields from every window to the super comfy bed and fluffy, proper fullsized bath towels. Everything in the lodge is of a very high standard, including the welcome hamper with locally sourced produce. We made full use of the 13 acres of the owners' woodland and fields available to guests star watched in the private hot tub in the evenings, toasted marshmallows on the fire pit, swung on the swing hanging from a large old oak tree and attempted a game of croquet on the 'lawn'! The wildlife didn't disappoint either we spotted the deer in the woods on several occasions and happened to be up at dawn one morning only to see two of the deer very close to the lodge! With a lovely local pub and farm shop within walking distance and so many places to visit within a few miles of Deer Lodge, we can't wait to stay at the lodge again.
Claire
This is a wonderful property. A real home from home. All the necessary facilities that you need to make your stay the best experience, including dressing gown and slippers. The location itself is fantastic. Walks surround the lodge as well as areas to use swings, BBQ and fire pits, when the weather allows. The wildlife around the area make your stay extra special. We saw deer, foxes, rabbits and pheasants. There is also a local pub which is nice, within walking distance. The facilities of the lodge are perfect, including the hot tub, which we used every day. The location is wonderful to travel to other areas too, which we did. The owners Kellie and Steve are helpful without being intrusive. We will be returning one day.
