Bryn Derwen Reviews

A truly fantastic house. Catered for three generations 370 comfortably. Plenty to do, never felt overcrowded for our party of 20. Well eqipped. Would highly recommend.
Wonderful place to stay. Great amenities. Clean and well maintained. Slight issue with a leak under the kitchen sink, however everything else was spot on.
The property is outstanding and its why we returned for the 2nd year running. Families comeback year after year and we know why.F&M chap was really helpful and nothing was to much bother. We are taking a break from North Wales next year but will be back. We loved playing pool and a little, investment in a new pool table would be the only thing we would like to see.

Beautiful property, perfect for all the family!
This was the most amazing week away for my family. A fabulous house that afforded everybody fantastic bedrooms, some en suite with other bathrooms in very close proximity. We cooked in the fantastic kitchen and ate in the beautiful dining room. Kids especially loved the pool, sauna and hot tub even in the teaming rain the kids were in the covered hot tub which they loved. WE had fantastic times in the games room and have brought back lots of family memories. Outside grounds amazing and very private but within walking distance to local village .Just a fantastic house which suited all of our needs and we would definitely book again in a heartbeat.
Deborah
OMG what a fabulous property we have all had the best time kids have had a blast ... OMG what a fabulous property we have all had the best time kids have had a blast with the pool, hot tub,and games room we will definitely be coming back thank you once again

What a lovely house situated in an idyllic location, definitely would consider going again. This was a bucket list to spend time with my family and it certainly ticked all boxes. Thank you. Yvonne.
Rebecca
A beautiful house in a stunning location with the best facilities especially when the weather wasnt great we made use of everything, the pool, hot tub and sauna. We had lots of fun in the games room and had a fab evening around the fire pit toasting marshmallows. There are lots of lovely quaint villages and towns all within a short drive. I would highly recommend and can honestly say this is the best UK holiday home weve ever stayed at. Many thanks.
My husband and I have just spent a long weekend at Bryn Derwen with all our family and we have had the most amazing and special time. We have never stayed at such a wonderful place before. It has kept us all, from 8 months old to 70 years old entertained. There were so many different, fun things to do here, we never needed to leave the property. We would love to go back. Very many thanks.
Absolutely fabulous holiday. 4 families aged 1 to 63 & a great time had by all. Owners and maintenance man very helpful if needed. Kitchen equipped with everything you think you need and more!!!! Beds soooooo comfortable.
Cherie
We stayed here for a week and what an amazing experience it was. There were 17 of us in total plenty of space in the house that we were not on top of each other, kids loved the swimming pool beautiful views. We took part in the local zip wire which was fantastic. Plenty to do, we were out everyday, visits to Aber Falls, Chester Zoo, Llandudno even enjoyed roasted Marshmellows by the firepit. Would absolutely recommend the Manner House and would be looking to go back and stay again.
Firstly communication with Skyes local owners and especially Gordon man on site was brilliant. We loved the property in such an amazing part of the country. We do feel that an inventory of property should be done and details updated. BBQ is gas not coal so that may afford bringing any unnecessary charcoal. There wasnt a blender and we were very unsure about the rules for leaving as at the last minute we found what a covid sign in the dining room should this be removed? That apart it is amazing and a great place to start the day or unwind after exploring. So those pointed out only minor things that might be addressed but to us everything was amazing and by the third day had already booked for the same time next year. Thanks you
Rachel
Stayed here with family and friends over the weekend. The house is as pictured and has amazing outdoor facilities such as pool , hot tub and sauna . The hot tub was a lovely touch but had some wear and tear , for example one of the head rest kept falling off . However the maintenance guy comes and shows you how to use everything and apologised for this. This house is amazing and I wouldnt hesitate to book we had the best weekend ! Check in nude and easy and quick correspondence from owners who are available if you need anything during gory stay . Thanks so much !
We had the most fantastic holiday in Bryn Derwen! The house is amazing and in the perfect location for exploring North Wales. The manor house is so comfortable and has everything you need. We cooked every evening and enjoyed meals inside and outside in the sunshine we were very lucky weather wise for April. The games room, hot tub and pool provided hours of additional entertainment for 3 generations of our family. We would highly recommend and hope to be back soon!
Brilliant location and on site fascilities. Great base to use to discover North Wales. Equally if weather not great, plenty to do on site. Would recommend for a large family or group of friends.
Absolutely wonderful Manor House , loved and enjoyed by us all, age range 1080 ,sauna and hot tub were my highlights , that hidden games room provided great entertainment too, superb location especially if you love mountains and beautiful beaches . Very comfortable, just loved it all !
This was everything we could wish for. We had four generations together for a 60th birthday. Plenty of space for everyone. So much room and things to do for all of us. And the views from the windows. Especially with snow on the mountains. Everything you needed even on a cold or wet day. Would love to come back again one day.
Rachael
Really great stay as always. The only thing is a couple of the group have come back with quite a savage bacterial skin infection which apparently comes from hot tub bacteria, so possibly some extra deep cleaning needed? Apart from that everything was fab! New hot tub was great for accommodating a large group, and really happy to see the dining chair upgrade which allowed us to seat 23 round the table we also had the lodge booked for the weekend so we were a huge group!. Many thanks, it's our annual treat, see you next year!
Nichola
We had an absolutely magical weekend, the property was beautiful and exceeded expectations. Thanks so much
Louise
Wow. Bryn Derwen was absolutely faultless. We loved our stay at the estate. The grounds are unbelievable and the property itself is absolutely spotless. It is decorated and maintained to such a high standard and the owners have thought of everything you need to stay for the week. Plenty of bathrooms, two fridges, two dishwashers and the rooms are all huge! The grounds, pool, sauna and hot tubs are impeccable and it was lovely to see the grounds keeper daily. Huge firepit was a hit. Plenty of outdoor seating, swings, football pitch and loads of outdoor space. Honestly it was an absolutely beautiful property and the owners were amazing!! They left us to it for the week and ensured we had everything we needed. Best holiday we have ever had. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Absolutely loved Bryn Derwen! Fantastic facilities, great location and lots of space to enjoy each others company and to hide away too! The outdoor kitchenbbq was a big hit with us! The only suggestion I would have is to put some more non slip mats near the pool and hot tub area.
The house was fantastic even better in reallife than the pictures. It was lovely and clean. The hidden games room was bigger than it looked on the photo we had a great night playing cards. The pool was lovely. We spent a weekend there and there was no need to go anywhere, the house had all we needed. On the Saturday night, we had an evening dress night with a local chef catering for us who we all thought was fantastic and would highly recommend Dai Chef and the dinning room was a beautiful setting. We couldnt have wished for a nicer place to stay. The kettle did die on us but a new one was swifty delivered to us. We all would highly recommend the house. If we had anything that we could add, we missed having a gas bbq in the outdoor kitchen rather than the charcoal one, just for convenience. The house was a setting for a lovely chilled weekend the only downside was none of us wanted to leave lol!
Ericka
A wonderful stay at Bryn Derwen. We booked as a group of 7 couples due to the location which was perfect for climbing Snowdon and for Velocity. The house and gardens are like staying in your own boutique hotel. The sauna, hot tub and pool were a treat. The house was immaculate. You really need longer than 3 days there to fully enjoy the house and to visit surrounding areas.
Had a great weekend with the family. Clean, great facilities, lovely location. would highly recommend
Darren
A fantastic place with amazing facilities. We had 20 guests all of which had a great stay over 5 nights. We would highly recommend. Lots to do across all ages.
Rachael
The house was fabulous, just like the last time we came. The main feedback I have is the same thing I suggested last time for a property that sleeps 20 it would be nice to be able to fit 20 around the main dining table. The table is more than big enough, but there aren't enough chairs. Six fold out chairs could be easily stashed in the utility room or anywhere else, the place is enormous! and then everyone would be comfortable for big group dinners. Everything else was perfect immaculately clean and luxurious, comfortable beds, lovely caretaker to show us around, great kitchen facilities. We were disappointed to discover on arrival that the sauna wasn't working but of course we understand that sometimes things go wrong and can't be fixed instantly. The pool and hot tub more than made up for it. THANK YOU for a wonderful stay. We're about to book for next year too.
Christine
Bryn Derwen was everything we wanted it to be, we booked for a special occasion and we enjoyed every moment. The pool, sauna and outside facilities were excellent, the bedrooms comfortable and spacious. It had quirks that you expect from an old house but that only added to the charm.
Razmin
Me and my family had a brilliant time. Beautiful place to stay will book again.
The most amazing Manor House for a relaxed family break
We booked Bryn Derwen Manor House for the whole family adults and children ranging from 19 to 3. There was something for everyone, so much space and safe facilities. We even took Margot our standard poodle who though it was great. Our booking was easy, and the information leaftlet provided by Elaine was excellent and provided all the information regarding the property and the locality that was needed. On our arrival we were met by Gordon the caretaker who kindly showed us the outside areas, pool and hot tub. Much excitement from the family as each selected which bedroom was theirs whilst others familiarised themselves with the well equipped kitchen. Apart from food and drink, there is really no need to bring anything else; it is very easy to cater for large numbers in the property. We had the most amazing stay and would highly recommend this for anyone contemplating either a quiet break away and to venture to some of the attractions such as zip world, just a stones throw away. Elaine is truly a super host.
The property is brilliant. Enough space and plenty to do within the property and perfect location to stay in north wales.
Christine
We were made to feel extremely welcome facilities were fantastic a great manor house and grounds for all the family to relax and enjoy, Gordon was very helpful and considerate of our needs and nothing was to much trouble if we needed anything. We would definitely recommend Bryn Derwen to family and friends can't wait to come back.
The Holiday house was excellent with everything we needed.
Rachel
This property is outstanding. Surpassed all my expectations. Very clean, excellent facilities and the games room hidden behind a bookcase was a fantastic feature. I would highly recommend this property!
Rachael
FANTASTIC property. Went with 18 friends, and with 6 communal living areas plus oodles of outside space you never feel on top of each other. Swimming pool and hot tub are incredible and were in use most of the weekend. It's like having your own hotel. The photos really don't show the full vastness and comfort of the property, it really is amazing. Only improvement I would suggest is that a house that sleeps 20 should also seat 20 at the dining table. We managed to get the 18 of us round the table by moving the kitchen bench in, but a set of six fold up chairs could easily be stacked in the utility room would solve the problem. Other than that, perfection! Thanks for a lovely stay, we are rebooking for next year.
Gareth
What an amazing place to stay, comfortable living, easy access to all areas, very clean and the groundsman was very polite and helpful. The owner Elaine was also very friendly and was always and hand if needed to be contacted. We would 100 recommend this oasis in beautiful wales should you be thinking of somewhere to stay.
We were absolutely delighted with Bryn Derwen Manor House. The photographs on the website do not do the property justice. There was lots of space both indoors and outdoors and the views were amazing. The heated outdoor pool was a big hit with our party, as was the hot tub and the secret games room. The property was beautiful and clean. Bedrooms were huge and beds were comfortable. The surrounding grounds were brilliant for the children and dogs to play in. The kitchen was a lovely communal area and had ample cookers, crockery and utensils. The wood burner in the conservatory was cosy. The only teeny tiny criticism would be that there was not a brush or dustpan and brush just to tidy up any spillages. All in all a really beautiful house.
Fantastic house went for my 30th birthday and everyone loved it! Everything of a high quality and we will be going again! So much to do and a huge amount if space for everyone.
Nicola
We had an amazing family holiday at Bryn Derwen Manor House. The location is beautiful and we couldnt have asked for better facilities. We highly recommend staying at this property.
Angela
Everything and more that we needed and expected, we had a family ranging from 1 yr old to an 82 yrs old in a wheelchair it was absolutely amazing , and the views , surrounding area was breathtaking . We all had a fantastic time x
