The Honey Pot Reviews

The Honey Pot was a brilliant holiday cottage! We were greeted with a warm welcome and a lovely goodie bag and we felt immediately that it was like home from home. It was warm, cosy, well equipped and had beautiful views, overlooking the Severn estuary. From the quaint garden, all this could be seen, including Shetland ponies and donkeys and it also sports a hot tub for that extra luxurious touch! It was also well situated geographically to visit lots of nearby interesting sites. We had a lovely relaxing week there and would certainly highly recommend it.

There is nothing I can fault about my stay at The Honey Pot, I booked this trip for my husbands birthday celebrations and we were not disappointed. Everything was as described to us and Sue was wonderful and very helpful with any of our queries.
Rachel
Excellent stay. Cottage was perfect. The owners had thought of everything. Cottage extremely clean, comfortable and like a home from home.
Amazing ! Fantastic place to unwind from working life and enjoy the countryside. As we pulled up Sue was there to meet us and show us around. We had planned to go to the shops for basics but no need ! Bread milk and wine were waiting ,nice touch. The hot tub was lovely and relaxing in the day and at night looking at the stars. You know its going to be a good stay when you can see yourself living there. All in all a perfect location for a perfect week. Would definitely look at going back in the near future. 1010
Most enjoyable two weeks at the Honey Pot. One of the best that we have stayed in. One of the best equipped we have stayed in. The owners were very hospitable and friendly and a big thankyou for the welcoming pack that we found. Would definitely go back again. Plenty to see and visit.

We had a very enjoyable stay at The Honey Pot. The property is very pleasantly laid out, tastefully and comfortably furnished. It is very clean and in a good location to explore the Forest of Dean, the Wye Valley to Monmouth as well as Chepstow and beyond into South Wales. Plenty of local walking possibilities. But the whole experience was enhanced by some extra surprising touches and the very pleasant owners living nearby.
Lovely homely cottage with everything you need and more. Hot tub and large bed with quality bedding added to the luxury. Also lovely to have robes and extra towels for the hot tub! Very helpful owners and family
Gillian
Lovely holiday cottage. Perfect place to relax and a good sized property for two people. There is everything you could possibly need except for perhaps a tea cosy. The welcome gifts were very much appreciated. We were very grateful for the fact that the hot tub was undercover bearing in mind the weather was awful for July.
William
Fantastic cottage and amenities. Spotlessly clean and a lovely outlook. Well placed for various locations throughout the Forest of Dean.
Joanne
Wow, what a gem! Great place if you want to explore the area. The cottage is to a very high standard and the owners are very friendly and helpful if you have any questions. The welcome gift was a very lovely touch, thank you

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the honey pot. What a gorgeous find. The owners are very welcoming and helpful and gave us privacy the whole week. The cottage itself is well equipped, spotlessly clean, very good quality items that made our stay very comfortable. The hot tub was such a luxury. We hope we can visit the honey pot again.

Everything at the Honey pot is perfect and so comfortable. My wife is disabled so the wet room was great
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property it was equipped with everything we could possibly need and more for the weekend I would highly recommend this lovely little place to anyone looking for a break away from it all!
Stephen
Fantastic cottage, lovely location, with great scenic views, ideally located & excellent property, wanted for nothing. Special mention to Sue, who greeted us on arrival, lovely lady.
Judith
We were delighted with the very well equipped, well furnished, clean and comfortable holiday cottage. It was warm and cosy base during some dismal wet and cold weather ! We were able to enjoy the garden and Severn view on the one dry day. An excellent base for exploring the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley. Good local shopping. Can highly recommend.
Katherine
We absolutely loved our week at the Honey Pot! Its a beautiful cottage with all the facilities and equipment we could have ever needed for a stay away. Loved the goodies that were there for our arrival and the hot tub was just perfect too. Thank you!

Staying at the Honey Pot was a lovely experience. The cottage was immaculately clean, well decorated, and felt very homely and cozy. There was good attention to detail, good facilities, we found we didn't have need for very much really. The owners were friendly and approachable and though it's an annexed property, you don't even know they're there. The cottage is off a busy main road but you really can't tell. You rarely hear the traffic. Good transport links by car to surrounding areas. We didn't use the hot tub on our stay but it is a nice addition to have. We went for a restful break and that's exactly what we got!
Well equipped property but would have appreciated a washing machine. Very clean property and helpful owners
Michael
First class presentation coupled with everything one would need for a relaxing enjoyable holiday. Owners extremely helpful in ironing out any small problems and couldnt do enough to assist wherever. My wife and I would not hesitate in recommending Honeypot to all and sundry.
The photos honestly dont do this place justice, it is far more spacious and lovely, as well as having everything you need. Fabulous secluded hot tub and garden, lovely views over the fields and River Severn, even though it is built onto the family house it was still very private. The WiFi was a bit patchy but we werent using it much anyway. Very comfy huge bed, very spacious wet room and shower, loads of towels, robes and everything bit of kit you could possibly want in a kitchen. A washing machine might be useful but Im really just being picky now. Nice farm shop about half a mile down the road, has lovely local produce including wine from local vineyards. Some of the little roads nearby are a bit hairy with not many passing places, so we tended to use the busier roads and go slightly further round to visit places. An absolutely cracking place to stay 1010.
Helene
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Honeypot. The place was spotlessly clean and so homely. The little touches made it just perfect, like toiletries, the welcome pack of milk, bread etc plus a bottle of wine and crisps! Also there were lots of clean towels plus bath robes for use with the hot tub. We had good communication with the owners. The cottage is in a quiet location with private parking and a lovely rear garden. We saw many birds, a rabbit, and bats on one evenings. The hot tub was great and just what we needed after a day walking in the Welsh hills. Would recommend and definitely return.
Robert
A very well equipped and well specced cottage. Wer clean and ideally situated to explore the Forest of Dean.
Andrew
Beautiful accommodation, clean, comfortable, everything you need, perfect location for doing some sight seeing and a private hot tub to relax in. Owner very welcoming and so thoughtful. Thank you for making our visit just perfect. Highly recommended
Sharon
The Honey Pot is perfect, has all the facilities and mod cons you would need, and is in a perfect location. Ideal for visiting the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley and beyond. We had a lovely few days there.
Hannah
We loved the property, it had everything we needed and more. It was really lovely and cosy. We had a really nice chilled weekend
The property was faultless in every way. When we had an initial problem with TV , it turned out to be irregular wifi connection, no fault of the owner who came promptly to try and sort it out. It was superb value for money , We would recommend it wholehearetdly.
Vishal
I couldn't have had a better experience. We felt at home as soon as we entered. We expected to have to buy a few things so we went shopping beforehand, but we were welcomed with a bottle of wine, a full guide on what is around, board games and everything else we'd ever need! Whenever we had any questions, the hosts were quick to respond too. Will definitely be coming back!
Christine
We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay in The Honey Pot. The cottage is very well equipped, very clean and comfortable and we felt at home as soon as we walked through the front door. The property is situated beside a main road so there is traffic noise hence only 4 out of 5 stars overall but that is the only drawback. It is conveniently located for exploring both the beautiful Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. We enjoyed interesting walks from the guide books available in The Honey Pot. Would highly recommend.
Christopher
The property is very well equipped and comfortable, better than described on the website. There was a welcome package of goodies and flowers!. The friendly owners ensured we had everything we needed, including feather free bedding. There is a view of the Severn from the property's window and private garden. Really good location for exploring the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean. No hesitation in recommending this property!
