There is plenty to see and do from this peaceful location, just 1 mile from the village of Alvington, well served with a convenience store, petrol station, two village pubs, and a tearoom.

For walkers both the Offa s Dyke And Wye Valley trails are accessible within 8 miles, and for enthusiastic cyclists the National Cycle trail can be picked up in Chepstow (6 miles) along with some great mountain biking trails at Cannop Cycle centre (7 miles.) Other outdoor activities include; kayaking, rock climbing and Go Ape. For a more cultured day, the medieval town of Chepstow, steeped in history with a fine castle that overlooks the river Wye and Regency Bridge, a racecourse with a year round events calendar and a museum.

This was a holiday cottage on another level. Everything you could possibly need for a fantastic stay. It was beautifully furnished, beds really comfortable, it was very quiet which was exactly what we wanted. We enjoyed the hot tub and sitting in the garden with its attractive rural views. Puzzlewood is a somewhat unique attraction within the beautiful Forest of Dean. Visitors can explore the mile of pathways passing over wooden bridges and through some stunning tree and rock formations. The maze of pathways are quite enchanting and the site has recently been used as a location for the BBC1 production of Merlin. While enjoying the splendour of nature there are many types of wildlife to meet along the way including Shetland ponies, Donkeys and Highland Cattle. A Hocus Pokus Halloween event takes place from the 24th to the 31st of October.
Bristol Aquarium - BS1 5TT

The Blue Reef Aquarium and IMAX 3D Cinema is located in Bristol and makes a great fun family day out.  The newest attraction in the region it's an experience not to be missed.  More than 7000 animals are resident in naturally themed habitats and you can enjoy wandering around looking at the 40 displays. Highlights include the giant octopus and the cute seahorses. The IMAX 3D cinema system is fantastic - you will feel like you are swimming along with the animals.

There are also educational shows to see including Milking Show and the twice daily Bottle Feeding Show.
