Holly Reviews

We all had a wonderful time staying in the Holly pod, everywhere was really clean on arrival and it was a perfect base to relax after a full day of walking. We came with our son and the lovely owners provided us with extra bedding for him which was amazing. Our hot tub was cleaned every day and was a perfect end to our day, the temperature was so warm and the peaceful surroundings meant that you could just chill without the feeling of people overlooking. Holly pod was in a perfect area and close enough to get to places like Windermere, Ambleside, Hawkshead, Old Man Coniston. We also ventured to see Beatrix Potter's cottage all of which were around 30min drive. We would definitely recommend staying at Low Fan Farm. Thank you for our wonderful stay we thoroughly enjoyed it.
What an amazing place ! So relaxing cosy and welcoming. The lady who runs it was very lovely and her pets that roamed the farm were just as great ! Everything about is exceeded my expectations. The shower was not the best and was up and down but other than that a 1010 from me.

This was such a lovely place to stay, relax and explore the area if you wanted to. The pod was cosy and the hot tub amazing, just what is needed after visiting the lakes, relaxing and overlooking such beautiful countryside. The hosts was lovely and welcoming and were available at any time should we need them. We will definitely be returning, we enjoyed our break so so much!

What a place! Me and my partner stayed here the week before Christmas and had such an amazing time! We were already familiar with the family who run these pods and couldnt wait to come back after staying here in June and it did not disappoint , we knew it wouldnt thats why we re booked , carol and Ian are such lovely genuine people and we had the warmest welcome back , introduced to the newest members of the farm and reacquainted us With the rest of the animals we met back in June These pods were one of the best places we could of spent our Christmas , the pods even had Christmas lights which made it feel so much more festive. Although it wasnt sunshine the weather didnt stop us doing so many activities that are only in walking distance from the farm. For example the Hoad monument , Cumbria way and also the village is only a stones throw away which is Amazing ! The cleanliness was 1010 and they paid so much attention to details such as towels being folded a certain way , you can tell they really want the best for their customers We cannot wait to go back again in summer , such a beautiful clamping site with prices that cannot be matched

We stayed here for 2 nights over the weekend and although we were hit with snow, we had a great time! Ian and Carol were more than accommodating and helped us get out of the farm and checked up on us to make sure we had everything we need. We will definitely be staying again!
We had an absolutely lovely stay in Holly. It was immaculate and so cosy. We made the most of the amazing hot tub and went in it as much as we could. The area is fantastic and food was lovely in the town of Ulverston which was a very short walk from the farm. Carol the owner was so friendly and welcoming and even gave us some bread so we could feed the chickens which were roaming free living their best lives! We will definitely be back! Thank you so much!

My partner and I had a lovely holiday! The pod was clean and fully equipped, the site was well kept. Views were incredible. We would definitely stay again. Only downside was the shower was difficult to keep at a good temperature it would go really hot or really cold. There were no instructions on how to use the heater, where to dispose of rubbish or what to do upon leaving I would have thought there would be a guide within the pod with this information.

We have just stayed for 3 nights in the Holly retreat pod for our wedding anniversary and we really enjoyed our stay. It was exactly what we wanted. The location was perfect. You're located on a farm with surrounding farmer's field's but your only a few minutes away from ulverston town, 30 minutes from Coniston lake which is definitely worth a visit and also only 50 minutes from lake windermere. The hot tub was amazing with tranquil views. We loved staying at the farm seeing all the animals, sitting in the hot tub with nothing but the sounds of the animals on the hills. Me and my hubby was so relaxed our whole stay, we've not been this relaxed in a very long time, it was just what we needed. We could of stayed for longer. We highly recommend staying here and we will definitely be returning next year.

What a beautiful relaxing place to stay, the owners are very friendly. Every morning they came to test the hot tub and stay and have a chat, nothing was to much trouble for them. The first night we arrived they offered to pick us up food from the Chinese, which was very thoughtful of them after 6 hour drive. The pods are very well thought out, there is everything you need to make your stay pleasant. The hot tub is brilliant and relaxing.
We both couldn't be any happier with our stay, the facilities and the owners, ... We both couldn't be any happier with our stay, the facilities and the owners, bother were super friendly and even showed us around the animals on the farm, hot tub was spot on, whole stay was 1110, will definitely be coming back

While the facilities are stateoftheart and situated in an idyllic, secluded location, our stay felt anything but secluded. Due, no doubt to the newness of the accommodation and inexperience of the owners, we very much felt under surveillance at all times. We were told on arrival that the hot tub would be checked daily. We were not told a specific time however, and due to the proximity of the hot tub to the pod door our privacy was compromised several times leading to the owners seeing myself in my underwear. One of them would just appear without even a knock and at different times throughout our stay ranged from 10am 130pm so we couldnt even try to preempt it! Additionally, we were rudely woken up by the owner banging on our door as they noticed another car parked outside the pod. Our car broke down while we were staying so we had to hire one to drive around the lakes during our stay. We were told, loudly, that the pod only sleeps 2 despite it saying 4 on the website and having a sofa bed. After a blearyeyed explanation of this we were asleep when the owner approached the pod to confront us about this the owner backed down and later she apologised for the mixup. However a simple question first such as just wondering why theres now an extra car here? would have been much politer! Another day during our stay, I accidentally broke a butterfly patterned plate. So, as you do, I cleaned it up and put it in the bin, and when the bin bag was full I took it down to the main bin on site. The owner then made another trip up to our pod the next day Holly is the furthest pod from the site entrance to say that theyd found a broken plate in the bin bag and that we needed to pay 10 to replace it. Felt intrusive to say the least that they had gone through our bin bag and found it! So all in all, it is a delightful setting and the accommodation being brand new gave it a nice clean modern feeling. However none of that matters if the relaxation of a hot tub and a room with a view is taken away by the feeling that youre being watched at all times. However Im not just here to criticise, I also have suggestions for how it can be improved Does the hot tub have to be cleaned daily? Could you not just have set days of the week to clean it? If it has to be daily, could you even allot an hour to give guests warning of when youre coming eg Well be cleaning the hot tubs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 11am and 12pm Bulk buy white plates for all pods rather than individual sets for each one. With pets, children and even clumsy adults like myself, accidents happen! Easier and cheaper to replace a white plate than a patterned one. Let the guests enjoy the accommodation how they see fit within reason of course! Any illicit or illegal activity then by all means hammer that door down but an extra car on the drive? A broken plate? Just a polite question in passing seems much more appropriate and customerfriendly. Advertise on accommodation listing that pets arent allowed to be left unattended in the pod. This was only made clear to us in the arrival instructions email received after we had already paid, and forced us to change the plans for our outings during our stay.

Our second visit to Holly and once again had a wonderful week , we are just in the process of booking again . Everything about our stay was first class . Beautiful scenery, wonderful hosts with Ian and Carol , spotlessly clean pod. We would have no doubt about returning and would recommend to anyone who would like a stress free, relaxing holiday. Can't wait to return .
This property was fantastic it had everything you needed and was extremely clean, beautiful views and the hot tub was great couldn't fault the place, cosy quiet little retreat great for unwinding after a busy day visiting the lakes, I would highly recommend a stay here.

Oh where to start! We could not recommend enough times! Upon arriving we were greeted with a lovely warm welcome from carol who is joint owner with ian who was currently away in France at the time. We were assorted up to the most scenic views with a beautiful luxurious glamping pod with our own personal hot tub. Walking into the pod was an experience in its self they really do take attention to detail when preparing the pods , all the little detailing right down to the way the towels had been folded on the bed and the toilet roll pressed , the little things made it so much more special and intimate. Not one spec of dust or dirt on anything everything was clean and tidy and it felt so cozy. The first point of call however was the luxurious hot tub that was waiting for us already set to the best temperature to ensure our comfort. We soon learnt that carol and her daughter Danielle had the biggest hearts , they would always ask us if we needed lifts and recommend places to go and allowed us to watch the sun set from one of their scenic locations that is only across the road from the farm Speaking of the farm we were introduced to each and every animal they had there with them , I even had some kisses from the baby lambs and had some fun trying to catch some roosters , and our little fury friends on 4 legs that escorted us up to the pod at each chance they got it was a Barrel of laughs I would not have chose anywhere else to spend my 22nd birthday , Over all we had the best time here and we cannot wait to come back as we were made to feel like family , on the last night we all gathered at the main house for a final farewell with a barbecue dinner and just made us feel special. We will be back no doubt about it Ellesse & Dan

I loved this place and wood highly recommend to anybody especially if you want to take a fur baby away.
We had the most wonderful time, lodges were brand new and immaculate. Views were incredible and the hosts of the farm were such the most welcoming and friendly of families. Highly recommended this place and will definitely be returning soon.
Amazing, really friendly people and really help full will most definitely stay again. The pods are amazing really cosy, ps the hot tubs are amazing!
What a gorgeous place to stay! It could not have been cleaner and it felt so wonderfully cozy and peaceful. We did not feel overlooked or surrounded by others at all but were still close to sweet villages and beauty spots. The hot tub was fantastic to come back to after long walks, this was certainly something unique compared to other places we looked at for a similar price. It was lovely to see the farm animals including a new born lamb & the donkeys! We would certainly recommend this place to our family friends. 1010, thank you for having us!!!
Brilliant camping pod, very clean and well supplied with towels. Hosts very friendly and someone always around to ask if you needed anything. Lovely location and site will definitely go back
Incredible!

South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 4 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 13 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 13 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 17 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 23 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
