Holly Tree Cottage Dunwich Reviews

James
Honestly, we had a lovely time. Everyone at the shop, puband restaurant went above and beyond for us - couldn’t ask for more. The food was really goodand since they’re open all day, we could grab a drink or a meal whenever we wanted. The hot tub was perfectand they looked after theirs well since we have one too. The garden felt safe and enclosed, which was great. Beach just five mins away, a bit steep but totally worth it. Dunwich fish and chips and Mr Wippy ice cream? Delicious!
James
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage! Perfect for dogs, close to the beachand great for day trips. Definitely recommend it.
Emma
The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed. Perfectly located on a nice holiday park close to the beach. Nice shop, barand restaurant on site too. We really enjoyed it!
Victoria
We loved the peaceful vibe of the beach, even in summer, especially since we got there early around 9.30 am. The cottage had loads of space and a gorgeous garden, which was a nice bonus. The location was perfect for us-close to Dunwich and Southwold, just what we wanted. The holiday park itself was great, with a fun play area and a cosy bar/restaurant. Only downside was the beds-could do with replacing, as they weren’t very comfy. Overall, a lovely break!
Julia
Great spot for dog walks, especially with the beach just steps away. The bar and shop on site are really handy too!
Emma Roberts
We spent the last weekend of half term at this lovely place. The cottage was really cosy and had everything we needed, plus it was well laid out with comfy beds-definitely a highlight! The site’s small shop offered some nice local treatsand the restaurant/bar was handy, especially since you can pre-order if it gets busy. Our dogs loved exploring the enclosed garden and chasing after the bunnies-it kept them happily occupied! Overall, a great stay, would happily return!
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay at Holly Tree Cottage. The place had everything we needed for a peaceful escape, including a super comfy bed and plenty of room both inside and outside. The hot tub was a lovely touch! We definitely plan to come back. Thanks so much for letting us stay in your lovely cottage.
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay here. The accommodation was comfy and the staff were super helpful. It’s perfect for dog lovers, with plenty of walks and chances to spot deer and other wildlife. The bathroom and interior work well for wheelchairs, though the grounds and beach access are tricky due to steep, stony paths. Nearby Dunwich Heath offers off-road mobility vehicles, which looked fab-definitely worth checking out first. A lovely place overall!
Michael
We had a lovely stay! The place was exactly as describedand the restaurant and bar were fantastic. The staff really went out of their way to make us comfortable, which was great. Just a heads-up: phone signal is pretty much non-existent, so WiFi calls are a must if you need to stay connected. It’s a bit of a love-hate thing, really.
Emma Clarke
We really enjoyed our stay here. The place is right on the beachand the hot tub was a lovely touch. Food was decentand our dog loved the enclosed garden. Definitely planning to return soon, it’s a gem!
Emily
The cottage was super cosy and warm, perfect for relaxing. We loved the peaceful spotand the starry sky view from the hot tub was just stunning. Everything we needed was there, especially the well-equipped kitchen. Definitely recommend!
Jess
Absolutely loved it, will return!
Emily
We stayed at the cottage recently and it was really cosy and spotless, with super comfy beds. The location felt a bit close to the car park, so there was some noise in the mornings-dustmen and deliveries started early, around 6:45and the forklift outside at 6:30 was quite loud. On the bright side, the hot tub was fantastic and well maintained, checked twice daily. The beach is right on the doorstepand the place is lovely, though the restaurant is always fully booked, so we didn't get a chance to try it. Some small touches could make it even homelier, but overall, a nice stay!
Oliver
The parasol arrived brokenand the second key was useless, but I liked the little extras like dishwasher tablets.
Emma
The cottage was lovely and had plenty of nice touches. It’s super peaceful here, though apart from a tea room a kilometre away, there’s not much else within walking distance really.
James
Lovely spot, would visit again
Oliver
We had a fantastic stay! The cottage was really spacious and felt just right for us and our three dogs. The garden was great for letting them outand the location was perfect with lovely walks and the beach just nearby. The hot tub was a real treat after long days exploring. Food and drinks at the onsite bar were tasty. Overall, a lovely break - we’d definitely come back!
Emma
Really enjoyed our stay, would definitely come back!
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay! The cottage was lovely, brightand spacious enough for our group of four plus two dogs. The location was perfect, just a short walk to the stunning beach. The onsite bar and restaurant served up tasty foodand the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. The kids loved the playgroundand we couldn't get enough of the hot tub! Only downside was the stone floor, which was a bit chillyand no Wi-Fi in the cottage, so we had to disconnect a bit. Still, we’d definitely come back!
Emma
The cottage was immaculate and cosy, but no Wi-Fi and bad phone signal. Staff were friendlyand the dog-friendly vibe made it special. Food was great!

Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park - NR32 4TZ
about 17 Miles
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.
Suffolk Owl Sanctuary - IP28 6HX

This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
Banham Zoo - NR16 2HE
about 28 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
