These luxury cottages make a great base for trips to attractions like the Minack Theatre, an open-air amphitheatre on the cliffs and St. Michael’s Mount, the iconic tidal island with its imposing castle.

Where is Mousehole? You’ll find this beautiful holiday destination tucked away on the Cornish coast, just three miles from Penzance. With its winding streets and picturesque harbour, it was once described as ‘the loveliest village in England’ by poet Poet Dylan Thomas.

You might catch one of the annual Mousehole events during your visit too – like the famous Christmas Lights display, which has run since 1963. The entire village transforms into an illuminated festive wonderland!

The cottage: A boutique escape with stunning waterside views near to Mousehole. This romantic retreat features a hand-carved mahogany king-size bed, a cuddle sofa by the fire and a bespoke double-ended stone slipper bath.

The setting: Situated near Lamorna Cove you’ll be in an ideal location for exploring Mousehole and the South West Coast Path. You’re also near another lovely village here – Newlyn (within 5 miles). Penzance with its shops and pubs is only 7 miles away and you’ve got Land’s End (10 miles).

Boutique retreat features: A beautiful private landscaped garden with a hot tub that has mind-blowing views. The interior is decorated with beautiful Art Deco touches and things like the mood lighting in the wet room makes this a fantastic property you won’t forget!

Practical stuff: Fully equipped kitchen with an electric oven and fridge/freezer and washing machine. Super-private enclosed courtyard complete with sun loungers. Private parking.

We’re talking  king-size four-poster bed from Bali and a cosy multi-fuel burner. Relax on the oversized sofa adorned with Mongolian cushions and soak up the unique atmosphere.

The setting: Easy access to the South West Coast Path and Mousehole. Discover hidden coves and enjoy sunsets over the sea. Nearby, sample seafood in Newlyn (2.2 miles) or explore Penzance (2.3 miles). Surf at Sennen Cove (9 miles) or paddleboard at Porthcurno (10 miles).

Boutique retreat features: You get your own secluded courtyard with a private sunken hot tub, gothic stained glass doors and a copper sink. This retreat comes with a luxury welcome pack too.

The cottage: Another popular romantic stay near Mousehole. It’s quirky. It’s unique and it has loads of fab design elements like the free-standing bath, vaulted ceilings and exposed original beams. The living room is filled with bespoke furniture and an Italian hand-carved sofa. The outdoor hot tub at this retreat is very unique too.

The setting: Perched on a hillside in Lamorna Cove, this cottage offers some awesome sea views and is an easy drive to Mousehole. The local village pub is a short walk away, while Penzance (5.5 miles) has loads of shops and restaurants. Visit the iconic St Michael’s Mount (10 miles) or explore Land’s End (8.5 miles).

The setting: You’re surrounded by your very own apple orchard here within five acres of tropical gardens! Discover the beauty of the Penwith Peninsula, with St Ives just 5 miles away. As well as Mousehole, there’s also the picturesque beach at Marazion is a mere 2.5 miles away and the enchanting St Michael’s Mount is easily accessible.

Boutique retreat features: Luxurious touches include a wood-fired hot tub on the private deck and a fire pit for cosy evenings. The orchard setting and access to exotic gardens with sculptures by local artists make this an extraordinary retreat.

A perfect base to explore Mousehole, there are some excellent boutique features such as the open-plan area with a balcony – a perfect spot for your morning coffee! The master suite boasts a super king-size bed with an inbuilt TV.

The setting: On the edge of the moors near St Just, this lovely retreat offers immediate access to the attractions and is close to Mousehole. Explore the mining heritage at Botallack (1 mile) or visit the Minack Theatre (7 miles). St Ives is a scenic 30-minute drive away. Nearby, the Queens Arms (01736 788318) offers a hearty pub lunch.

Boutique retreat features: The Hayloft features an undercover hot tub, a woodburner and a private balcony. The welcome pack includes local produce and the enclosed garden is perfect for dogs. Its luxurious interior and thoughtful touches will leave a lasting impression.
