The Farm House at Wildersley Farm Reviews

Heather
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wildersley Farm. It was warm, comfortable and well presented, offering all we needed for our weeks stay. Perfect location for country walks on the doorstep. The host was helpful and very responsive. We would certainly consider returning and have already been recommending Wildersley Farm to others.
This is a lovely house and a great venue for a get together of our group of friends. We look each year for a house with plenty of bathrooms and a big kitchendining area where we can all sit, cook and eat sociably. This house ticked all those boxes. The kitchen could do with a few more mugs and glasses and some hand towels and more tea towels. Even though there is a bar area with a very small fridge, a second fridge, possibly in the utility room would be very useful. Bluetooth speakers in the kitchen would be good. None of the hand basins had any kind of soap so some liquid hand wash at every basinsink would be a very welcome addition. The outside space is lovely and so quiet despite being walking distance from Belper town centre. The weather was very kind to us and we did a lot of walking.

A group of us went to Wildersley Farm recently for a long weekend. The property definitely has the wow factor. It is beautifully presented and very clean. It is very spacious and the bedrooms are comfortable. There were plenty of lovely small touches such as robes, slippers, toiletries and towels for showering and for the hot tub. The kitchen area is huge and there are plenty of utensils. The outdoor area is lovely but does need a bit of TLC. The cushions on the garden furniture are a bit tired and also the ones for the firepit area need replacing. It was a bonus having a hot tub which was very clean. Another lovely touch was a basket of blankets and hot water bottles outside. The owners have thought of lots of special little things to make your visit more comfortable. The dirt track on the way to the house is a bit challenging but doable. There is an Aldi and Morrisons a short drive away. We had a fantastic time and would not hesitate to book again.

11 adults and 1 infant for the weekend, what an amazing stay. Both the indoor and outdoor space at Wildersley Farm House are incredible. The house is stunning, finished beautifully, contains everything we needed and more, including optional baby items free of charge. Outside the grounds are perfect for relaxing, eating, playing, with several seating areas, hot tub, fire pit, loungers, BBQ and garden games. The booking process was really easy, information was provided at the time of booking with further details closer to the time of our stay. All questions were answered quickly and helpfully. Zero issues finding the house although the road down to the house is a little bumpy so if you have the option of a 4x4 over a sports car maybe go for the 4x4, entry to the property was simple and as described but it was great knowing that Ami was on hand if we had any issues. We are already planning our return 1010
The place is very nice but it could do with a bit of maintenance mainly in the garden. There is barely any natural light in the yellow bedroom as the plants have grown over the windows. The driveway situation should also be mentioned as all our guests not in 4x4 had issues with grounding. Please make guests aware they need to bring toilet roll and toiletries as 1 roll per person for 7 days and a tiny travel sized shower gel for 2 people for 7 day isnt enough. The outside cushion could also do with replacing as they were stained and dirty. I dont want to seem negative as we had a good time but these are very cheap and easy things to resolve and would make a massive difference.
AMAZING!! Just returned from our weekend at Wildersley Farm, what a fabulous place . As soon as we walked thru the door it was a 'wow' factor! Owners communicated and looked after us well. They informed us that the dishwasher had broken, which really didn't bother us, however, we had gifts left us as an apology. A nice touch! They have clearly read other reviews because, there were plenty of crockery, cutlery, kitchen towel, foil, black sacks and plastic glasses! I took all of these with us, so having them all there was a bonus for us, thank you. We all had a great weekend, the house is fantastic for family and friends. The bedrooms are huge and having 6 bathrooms also help. The garden is also fantastic, the weather was great so we were outside during the day. Wood was left for us for the fire pit too. Gary, Debbie and Ami are great hosts, we really can't think of anything to improve on, the weekend was perfect for us, we came home and booked again for next year!

As soon as we opened the door it was the wow factor, beautifully decorated and interior design is outstanding. Very clean. A great place to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday Ok road track is rough but the end result is to this outstanding property with beautiful views with peace and quiet. Absolutely nothing not thought of , robes and towels for hot tub, echo show, fully equipped kitchen ,the list is endless ! We all had a awesome time and would definitely book again Only point would be , a blind in one of the loft bedrooms, in the roof window, to stop sun early morning
Incredible venue. Immaculately decorated. Made for a very special weekend away with a group of lovely friends. Lovely friendly service from Ami & Gary the owners. Would absolutely recommend and will hopefully come back in the future.
Accessibility a real problem for normal cars. Doesnt live up to 5 tick rating. Getting to the cottage is a real problem for normal cars. A long, rough, very potholed track difficult to avoid scraping the bottom of the car quite stressful. We would hesitate to recommend the cottage for this reason. Apart from that there are lots of positives. It's spacious and generally well equipped. Big, interesting garden. Good location once you've overcome the track for the southern Peak District. Kids loved the hot tub. You can also walk into the interesting town of Belper. But the 5 ticks from Sykes and the price comes with certain expectations and it didn't match those expectations. None of the problems are major, you can live with them, but that is not what is expected. A list Several of the bedrooms have no wardrobe or hanging space living out of a suitcase isnt luxury On arrival you are met with the barn full of unsightly rubbish it's out of sight from the house though The garden could do with a decent tidyup. Things that are missing black rubbish bags, tea towels, washing up scrubbers all these were provided when asked. Also enough soap, dishwasher tablets, washing detergent, paper towels. There has become an expectation of a bit of a welcome pack. Sorry to sound ungrateful but one bottle of wine and one packet of crisps amongst 12 people doesnt really cut it. Could also do with checking that pots and pans have been washed up properly which they weren't
Jeremy
Access road condition dreadful and very difficult to drive for anything but a 4by4. Beds not made up as requested. Insufficient crockery, glasses, cutlery only 12 of everything. Refuse area cluttered with rubbish as was the summer house. Mice in kitchen and sitting room! Problems with cold water in kitchens, wine fridge not working, shower problems. Some of these were resolved after contacting owner. Owner did try to sort some of the problems. These could be problems associated with recent change of ownership. If this is your premier property you should be aware and concerned about these matters. You may want to publish this feedback see below!
We have just returned from a weeks stay at Wildersley Farm. I can honestly say it was a wonderful property furnished to a very high standard. It is clear to see why this property won a bronze award. It is lovely and spacious and was very clean and tidy. We had 12 guests age range 780 and all had a wonderful time. There are great walks on the doorstep and the hot tub was also top of the range. There are also nice outdoor seating areas for the summer months We met Gary the owner who was very nice and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this property and hope to return one day!
Ms Coombs
Fantastic house, has everything you will need and all the rooms are just beautiful.
Mr Gray
The house is magnificent, extremely well equipped and appointed to a very high standard with remarkable attention to detail. It's location, just 5 minutes drive to shops, restaurants and pubs but half a mile down a farm track makes it convenient yet quiet and peaceful, and it's very accessible to the local attractions.
Mr Fretwell
This is our second time at the property. We chose to eat in a lot of the time and the layout of the property, particularly the kitchendining room, allows you to do this with comfort. It is a good location which allows you to reach most local attractions within a short time. We had a great time.
Miss Harrison
The most amazing house! Cannot fault a single thing, it felt like a luxury 5 star resort. Spotlessly clean, beautiful interior design, perfect blend of modern and character property, stunning garden and views, even the hot tub was high end. And a lovely touch having dressing gowns and slippers for everyone to use. We had the best girly pamper weekend. The house was like our own private spa! I would highly recommend and I cant wait to come back again.
Mrs Baker
This property exceeded our expectations. It is a stunning, luxury holiday home in a beautiful and secluded location. Every detail had been thought of to ensure that we had a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We will not hesitate to recommend it to others and would be keen to stay again. The only minor change we would make would be to have a small fridge in the bar area but this is only a recommendation for future stay.
Mrs Jackson
1 or 2 little niggly problems which we reported. Property desperately needs a second fridge 1 standard fridge for 12 people is not enough. A second fridge in the bar for drinks beer, mixers, etc would do the job. On the whole, had a fabulous time at a very luxurious property.
Mrs Pownall
Beautiful house, beautiful setting Highly recommend it. Thank you for a lovely two days break xx
We recently stayed at Wildersley Farm , it was the most amazing house, everything about the house we all loved, it is done to the highest standard with everything you could possibly want . We will definitely be going back one day with family .The house was so lovely we never left it all weekend and so would have loved to be staying longer. Thank you so much.
