La'al Ling Reviews

Alexander
Dean and Jo were fabulous hosts. They have spent a lot of time and effort making the Hut functional and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The setting is lovely, nice and quiet. Some lovely places to visit on the doorstep and you arent driving at 2 mph to get there like you would if you stopped in more touristy spots around the lakes. You are literally only a few miles of the dual carriageway which was great after the drive up there. It was great to have the log burning hot tub made ready for your return from a days walking. Seriously the hosts couldnt do enough, provided local places to eat, walks and were so pleasant! I will be looking to return.
The hosts are absolutely lovely, so accommodation, definetly recommend x

Beautiful setting, on a farm, surrounded by little sheep, with a view of Blencathra The hosts have thought of everything and are operating on a world class level We had the chance to speak to the host Laura and her son who looked after us on our first evening both super nice and helpful. Will definitely be coming back Thanks so much for the perfect birthday stay

To jo and dean thank you for your lovely hospitality we had a great time with ... To jo and dean thank you for your lovely hospitality we had a great time with you we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and your cleaness of your shepherd's hut

I really enjoyed a relaxing and comfortable stay at La'al Ling which I now know means Little Ling. The shepherds hut accommodation was very comfortable and clean, and beautifully decorated. It is situated within it's own private garden, where you can relax in the hot tub, and enjoy the views. The facilities available in the hut were just right, with plenty of hot water for the shower. Although you may want to get away from the trappings of modern life, having WiFi available was essential to me, and it never let me down. The only thing that did let me down was my own ability to create a good fire for the hot tub. The owner, Dean, came to my rescue there, and got the temperature up to the perfect level. Dean and Jo were excellent hosts, with plenty of recommendations for places to eat, and of course Dean's fire building skills. I would definitely stay at La'al Ling again. Thanks Dean and Jo for a lovely stay.
Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful shepherds hut. It was such clean and cosy hut with lots of extra goodies that we didnt expect. The hosts were really friendly and welcoming people. We really enjoyed our stay and will be recommending to other people. Megan & Olly
We had the best time at laal ling, it is so homely and has everything you could possibly need, not forgetting the amazing views that comes with it, didnt want to leave and would 100 recommend!

Myself and my girlfriend had the most amazing weekend. Amazing views, the hut was so cozy and the hosts were so friendly and thoughtful, so much shocked us as there was a lovely spread of snacks, milk oj and Champagne in the fridge, even had playing cards, the hot tub was perfect and my girlfriend wants the same bedding as which was in the hut as it was so so comfortable. We would give it 6 stars if we could. Perfect

Booked as a last minute gettaway, we was blown away with the set up and facilities of the shepards hut at la'ling. Dean and Joanne couldn't be more accomodating. This is a 5 star stay and would 100 recommend to any one wanting a peaceful getaway in the lakes with a luxurious property. We will definetley be back !

Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 13 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 17 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 22 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 23 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 29 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
