The lodges was decorated and furnished to a very high standard but we felt like it needed a good old vax with the wet and dry hoover and because it was light carpets the stains were really noticeable Also there were no chemicals in the hot tub , the dispenser was empty the full time we were there and Ive been unwell since I got back I asked around if anyone had a hoover they would lend us but no one did so there was all bits on the floor which drove me wild , Im a very clean and tidy person I did mop the kitchen floor but feel like a hoover wouldnt have gone amiss As regards the kitchen , what a really well stocked and plenty of cupboards kitchen this was , missing a jug and some Prosecco glasses , I have loads at home I could have brought some too Also on the Saturday we came back from a day at the designer outlet to find the hot tub had been switched off at the isolator and it was only like warm which was very odd so we couldnt use till the next day really , also it was not very private from next door so they had to close all their curtains so they could be private , it needs some screening round it I think These are not criticisms as such just pointers for improvement, we had to be home on Sunday so we missed a night as it was a minimum three night stay which I expected but overall we had a really lovely stay and I would come back again purely for the tranquility and listening to the birds
We had an excellent stay exploring the attractions of nearby York and returning to relax at the Owls nest, which catered for all our needs and more. Its difficult to find somewhere to holiday in the February half term with all weather attractions but York kept us entertained all week. I would recommend this break to anyone looking for the same truly comfortable relaxing the bed is heavenly place to stay with attractions nearby.
Had a lovely stay. Would certainly use Sykes Cottages again.

Owls nest was a getaway to remember! Firstly the pictures online do not do the lodge justice, the inside is so clean and the decor is modern compared to other lodges I have seen. A nice touch was the TV already having a Netflix, prime video and spotify login provided. Upon arriving we did have issues in finding the lodge as we had another vehicle parked in our designated parking spot which was the only downfall to our trip. However, the hot tub was amazing and already running upon our arrival. I would recommend Owls nest as a getaway if you would only like to spend your break at the lodge as there isnt much to do around the area, but there is a booklet provided with important info and recommendations. All in all we all enjoyed our time there and I would definitely recommend!

We loved our little get away it was for our son's 18th birthday. Who loved the hot tub !! Very good as we where able to bring the dogs. Only thing wished the full area was fenced off around the hot tub for more privacy. A beautiful lodge cabin with everything you need. Would definitely recommend
Elizabeth
We had a really pleasant stay at the Owls nest, the lodge is cosy and has fab facilities. The only downer was we missed out on nearly two days of the hot tub during our stay due to maintenance issue, still waiting on the owners to get back to us about this! Despite this issue we would definitely still recommend and return.
Lovely little campsite, very clean and tidy. The pictures are exactly like what you get and it smelled lovely. We did some walking while we was there and We would definitely stay again to do some more.
