Fantastic location to explore the area and the cottage is equipped with everything you will need (and more) for your stay. Including tea/coffee etc, cleaning products, bath robes and a hairdryer. Spotlessly clean and furnished to a very high standard throughout. Your closest neighbours are some friendly and curious sheep. The wrap around outdoor sp ace is fully enclosed which allowed our dog to safely explore the area. The view from the hot tub is amazing and a perfect way to end the day!

The cottage and the owners are both great. Nicola was very helpful and the cottage had everything we needed. The location is central enough to the area for exporing without being too close to any built up areas, so there is nobody around but the fields and the farm owners and animals - It's a real 'chill out' zone. Broadband was fast enough to stea m tv programmes most nights with just the occasional drop in signal (expected when your outside of towns). We are booking again for next year :)

This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire. Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour. You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals. Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.

Lightwater Valley - HG4 3HT

about 8 Miles

Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family. The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower. For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel. Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too. If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.

Fountains Abbey - HG4 3DY

about 11 Miles

This is an outstanding world heritage site located close to Ripon in the North Yorkshire area. Nature lovers will be in their element with an abundance of wide open spaces to explore and there are special guided tours for families. Some of the highlights may include seeing wild deer and bats during your visit. The grounds are fantastic to wander round but there is also an Elizabethan Mansion, Victorian Church, Georgian Water Garden and the finest example of Cistercian Abbey ruins in the country - Well worth a visit!
