Respryn Reviews

Lovely accommodation, very clean and comfortable. Beautiful towels and bedding. Very comfy bed. Great bonus having the hot tub and also Sky a TV. It was a nice touch, receiving the welcome hampertreats.
Great location clean, great hosts perhaps a bit smaller than we thought but didn't effect our stay or holiday. Will return in future.
Adrian
We had an amazing stay. We arrived a little early but Gareth welcomed us, vacuum cleaner in hand and immediately gave us some great tips about the local area. We were able to leave our bags before heading off into the village in search of lunch. Upon our return, there was a fantastic welcome hamper containing all kinds of essentials and a couple of extra surprises in the fridge I won't spoil it for future guests. This was totally unexpected and a lovely start to our holiday. The property itself has everything you need, everything! Although it's compact, the only room that is actually small is the living room area. Kitchen, bedroom and bathroom are perfectly sized. The hot tub was excellent and clean, very private too. The garden and the outlook from it are beautiful, we could see a bird of prey visiting an adjacent field almost every morning whilst we had our coffee. Our calves are still burning from the walk in and out of the village, at 10 mins sauntering pace it was ideal for us and helped burn off a few calories after dining at several of the excellent local bars and restaurants. The bed was comfy, the towels all super soft and the bath massive & shower were excellent. There's not much more I can add other than Gareth and Judith were both wonderful hosts and made it clear to 'give them a knock' if there was anything we needed, there wasn't as they seem to have thought of everything already! absolutely lovely hosts. We will be back and are already looking forward to another stay. Thank you so very much. Ady & Vix xxx.
Lovely little compact apartment, very comfortable with everything you could possibly need, friendly hosts. The extras were fab, hot tub, books, jigsaws, salt & pepper, cooking oil, hand wash, washing powder welcome pack is a delightful surprise, close to shops and pubs though its a steep walk back!
Lovely cottage, great views & friendly owners made a really enjoyable weeks break.
Excellent accommodation. Hot tub added bonus. Friendly welcoming hosts. Would definitely recommend.
Very nice welcome on arrival , welcome pack lovely. The main problem we found was the location of the property being at the top of a steep hill. The gradient of the hill was not suitable for people of our age group who may have walking difficulties. Sykes cottages should inform clients of the steep hill. We were not told at all.
Although rather compact, very well equipped and ideally situated, with very friendly hosts. Probably best to avoid approaching via the town and come in from the back, as the town can be a nightmare! The jacuzzi is of course, the icing on the cake.
Amazing ! So lovely . We definitely would love to return x we felt so spoiled by the lovely hamper and fluffy white towels and all the extras to ensure we had everything we could possibly want. The hot tub was always ready to jump into .
Very nicely located. Very welcoming and helpful.
Tarran
Beautiful little accommodation, very well equipped and very clean, the property owners were very polite. Decent view
Tracey
Loved our stay at Respryn. Gareth and Judith are lovely and welcoming. Perfect location for exploring Cornwall and Mevagissey was a dream. Recommend the Ship and the Fountains Inn but book a table as often very busy. Could not ask for more for a holiday. Loved it Jon & Tracey

Really enjoyed our week at Respryn, accommodation was clean and comfortable, everything we needed was there. Big thank you to Gareth and Judith, would definitely recommend.
Because of mobility problems I couldn't go, they were amazing , they even said ... Because of mobility problems I couldn't go, they were amazing , they even said If you can make it, even for a couple of days, absolutely beautiful, kind people, if I didn't have mobility issues, we would have been there, beautiful place, beautiful hosts, I'm just sorry I couldn't go, anyone staying with them would be happy, and lucky xx
Excellent place to stay, this place is everything you need for a relaxing break. Gareth and Judith are welcoming hosts and are on hand with tops on the best local walks ect.Loved the hot tub at the end of the day and the basket of Cornish goodies was an unexpected delight we enjoyed our stay so much and the area is lovely with beautiful views.
We had a lovely holiday in Megavissey and the holiday let was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The welcome pack was a lovely bonus and very much appreciated. The owners were very nice and friendly. There was nothing I would change about our holiday, not even the steep hill on the walk back from the harbour
Malcolm
Brilliant host. Nothing was too much trouble he made us feel very welcome and he obviously wanted us to enjoy our stay which we did
Compact and cosy annex, quiet and private. The owner lives in the attached main bungalow providing a warm welcome. Absolutely everything is provided and even had a lovely welcome box of goodies. The village has very narrow streets not designed for cars and difficult for wheelchairs. Most shops do not have level access but lovely gardens and places of interest to visit. The lost gardens do a wicked Sunday lunch. A very big thank you for making our stay so special.
Nicola
Great location. We had a fantastic holiday, and made the most of being local to Mevagissey, Lost Gardens, St Austell, Charlestown and the Eden Project. We went out to St Michaels Mount, Mousehole, Tintagel and Port Isaac too. Then we can home to a lovely, comfortable apartment with everything we needed. All facilities were thought of and the attention to detail was great. Huge thank you for a lovely stay.
Frederick
Lovely comfortable place to stay , all we could ever need in the accommodation, the jacuzzi was wonderful, and the welcome basket was a very pleasant sunrise .
Kristy
This was our long awaited honeymoon and we thoroughly enjoyed our week. The welcome hamper was a lovely surprise and everything we needed was supplied. Our home for the week was clean and very welcoming and the hot tub was very much used after long days of exploring. We recommend visiting The Cellar if you fancy a relaxing drink, the staff there were very friendly.
Sharron
Lovely welcome pack. Hosts very welcoming. We'll equipped cottage.
Judith
We had very good hot weather which made the property very hot inside. We loved the hot tub and the private garden.
The cottage was lovely as were the hosts. There was everything you could possibly need. Plenty of hot water and heating.Sheets and towels provided, washer dryer and fridge freezer which means that you dont have to pack loads of clothes, and you can shop for a week and not have to hit the shops again if you don't want to. The hot tub was wonderful after a long day walking the coastal paths. Will definitely be back.
Christopher
The accommodation whilst compact had everything we could wish for. The annexe was very clean, well equipped and comfortable. The bedroom and bathroom were of really generous preportions. Our hosts were really warm & welcoming, even providing a welcome basket with wine & cream tea etc. With the addition of a hot tub outside it was just perfect.
Tracey
The annex is compact but has everything you could possibly need. The hot tub was great to relax. Beautifully organised, clean and nice to have car so close. Just brilliant holiday.
Philip
Another perfect stay. Third holiday with Sykes this year and would definitely recommend
Respryn was clean, tidy, warm, very comfortable and well equipped throughout. It has a lovely little garden with hot tub which we made the most of. The owners Gareth and Judith were very welcoming and Instantly made us feel Very much at home. Gareth even gave us a lift to the local restaurant on our wedding anniversary although he and Judith had other arrangements of their own. We would definitely recommend Respryn to family and friends and look forward to returning some time in the future.
Robert
Bed was very comfortable. A major, major plus! The hot tub was excellent Owners were very helpful, accommodating and offered some good suggestions for visiting places, locally. Would definitely recommend as long as we can get another week there.
Caroline
Lovely place to stay. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. The hot tub was wonderful to relax in. The welcome pack was a sweet surprise. If you do not mind walking up a steep hill,I would highly recommend. Mevagissey is beautiful. So much too see and do in the surrounding area.
Sharon
This was the first time we used Sykes cottages and was impressed with the communication we received right up to our holiday explaining the next steps, information of the area and reminders. The annex was lovely the equipment and utensils was of a high standard and the hosts were thoughtful, helpful and quiet neighbours. The living room area is very compact but the bedroom kitchen and bathroom are of a good size. The outside area and views are lovely as is the large sized hot tub. The annex is situated at the top of a hill therefore mobility should be considered. Mevagissey is a lovely quaint area and the Respryn is a great base to explore from. We would recommend the Respryn and would definitely return
Fabulous holiday, would happily recommend this place to anyone. ..
The road into town was not for the over 80s it is about 1 in 4 for some would be to much. Use the car if you can walk. The weather wasnt to good!
We had a lovely holiday. Was made very welcome . Lovely welcome pack with all essentials.Very clean and tidy . Able to get to all areas quite easy. Hot tub a lovely touch and very clean. First time in Cornwall and definitely wont be the last. Home from home .
The accommodation whilst small has everything you need to enjoy your stay in Mevagissey, very well equipped and to a high standard, the addition of your own personal hot tub is a welcome bonus, another bonus is being able to park easily, the proprietors could not be more helpful and accomadating nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended.
The welcoming pack was unbelievable. Much appreciated. The cottage was neat, clean, tidy, and well presented, a credit to the owners, who were a very friendly couple. Would be more than happy to return for a further holiday. Would recommend for people wanting to visit Mevagissey, and surrounds.
Wonderful holiday at Respryn. Perfect apartment for 2 people. Spotlessly clean. Well equipped kitchen. Our hosts could not have been more welcoming and the hamper on arrival was superb. Lovely garden area with a hot tub, what more could you ask for ! Would highly recommend.
Heather
