Samphire at Middle Acre Reviews

Judith
We really enjoyed our stay, the Shepherds Hut was very comfortable, well equipped and clean. A great place to unwind and watch the day go by or a base to explore the beautiful coastline and return to relax in the hot tub watching the stars. We met Roger one of the owners and his four legged friend Bee, both were very friendly. Roger was happy to spend time, imparting his knowledge of the local history and trees and plants on the grounds. There are a variety of apple trees growing along with tomatoes and herbs, which you are invited to usepick, this was a nice touch. We would definitely recommend a stay at Samphire.
This was my wife and mines first time glamping ,and it could not have been at a more tranquil location . The hosts were so kind and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The hot tub was so good after a days walking and sightseeing .Weymouth was only six miles away and parking on summer time rates was a bit high ,but looking at Weymouth worth it .The shepard hut was very cosy and the shower was roomy and water hot ,the bed comfortable .We are going to rebook for next year as its such an ideal base for further adventures and i would recommend this to anyone looking for a peaceful location to come and go from .Lastly many thanks to Roger and Michelle for providing a heaven from home ..see you both next year .

It was an amazing experience as this was our first time living in a Shepherd's hut. Roger and Michelle were very nice and always helpful. We did not come by car, but Roger was always dropping us to the destination where we wanted to go and it was unexpected from the hosts. The hot tub was very nice and also glad to meet with Bee the dog. There are so many sightseeing places such as Weymouth, Durdle Door, and Lulworth Cove. The shepherd's hut was clean and cosy and also we met with other guests living in the next door. It is a great place to live if you want to go for a relaxed holiday away from your daily hectic schedule. Thank you, Michelle and Roger for hosting us, will meet next year!! Arvind & Sree
This was such a beautiful place. The owners were so helpful and cared very much that guests were looked after and happy during their stay. Meeting me on arrival to show guests around and explain everything. Nothing was too much trouble. The hut was just perfect with great attention to detail, with everything provided that you might need. A really tranquil location, total get away from it all but with the luxury of a comfy bed and the hot tub is a real bonus. Walking distance to the beach and a lovely pub. Leaving refreshed and relaxed after a week was exactly the plan. I will be back again.
We had a lovely stay at Samphire, very comfortable and cosy. The woodfired hot tub was a delight after a days walking as was the warmth of the firepit. It was a pleasure to meet Michelle, Roger & Bee the dog. Everything was well thought out and nothing was too much trouble. Eco friendly toiletries I need the recipes for the shower products please! Thank you for the delicious apples and tomatoes. Husband says a mirror on the wall above the bathroom sink would make shaving easier...

Lovely place to stay, owners are very welcoming and the added touches for when you arrive went down very well
Kristen
Amazing amazing amazing stay! Everything was really lovely, bed was super comfortable and hot tub a big plus! Only thing, the water in the shower wouldn't heat enough, nor long enough, for us to use it. We rinsed ourselves out of the hot tub with the warm water and some soap! Otherwise, it is SO incredibly beautiful to be able to walk to the coast, which is just breathtaking. Hope to be back soon!

We had a really lovely stay at Middle Acre. The friendly hosts greeted us on arrival and showed us around the property and answered any questions we had. They also told us about the local area and gave us some handy information for nice walks and local pubs and attractions. We had some tasty cold ciders waiting in the fridge for our arrival too, which were very nice! Our overall stay was very relaxing and we would definitely recommend.
Absolutely fantastic stay here at middle acre! The hosts are fantastic and so welcoming and attentive to your needs. The Shepard's hut and surroundings are amazing and all the added touches make this stay extra special! Thank you so much for a beautiful holiday I will cherish forever, thank you Michelle and Roger Phoebe and Aaron
Michael
Brilliant hosts, lovely place. Couldn't fault anything. Perfect place for a getaway.
Samphire was beautiful, location was perfect and Michelle and Roger were helpful and friendly hosts. Would recommend Middle Acre without hesitation.
It was a really great break away from it all. The photos dont really do it justice as it cannot capture the atmosphere, and friendliness and generosity of the owners. It was our first sheperds hut experience, and all the detail and facilities here makes it a whole other level above other shepherds huts we browsed before booking. The area is stunning with loads of walks to do. Local pub booking is essential before going.
Such a lovely place to stay. We were lucky with the weather so could sit outside. So peaceful and relaxing. Ideal location for what we wanted to do. Hosts were very welcoming , thank you
Judith
Very pleasant, wifi in the cottage would be an improvement
Vignesh
Michelle and Roger are lovely and very welcoming. Clear instructions beforehand and good communication. The hut itself is amazing great place to be off the grid and a sustainable way to holiday, if that is important to you. Place is very clean and there is good access to hot water, good zines bathroom and showers, toiletries and towels included and all cutlerykitchen items provided too. Very cosy and any time we had a minor issue Roger or Michelle were on hand to help. The hot tub is amazing does take 2hrs to heat up but once done it is very satisfying and much more sustainable.
Louise
Extremely friendly hosts, who could not have been more accommodating. The accommodation was very clean and had everything that was needed.
Everything we needed for our 6 night stay was provided and the solar power was enough for our needs. Michelle and Roger were attentive and friendly hosts. The huts are set off a quiet road and the coast is a 15 minute walk away through lovely countryside. We spent our time relaxing at the hut, sitting in the hot tub and walking the beaches and cliffs of East Dorset.
Andrew
Samphire is in a picturesque setting amongst peaceful countryside, yet walking distance of local pubs and beaches. The hut is immaculate and the owners have thought of everything. The hottub was a nice surprise and we sat by the logburner part after while it was still warm. Wonderful hosts that leave you to enjoy yourselves but are there if you need them.
My girlfriend and I had a fantastic staycation at Michelle and Roger's Samphire shepherd's hut last weekend and couldn't recommend them more! They went out of their way to be friendly, attentive and ensured we had everything we need to make our stay unequivocally enjoyable. Fabulous hosts in an absolutely stunning and scenic part of Dorset, with access to the World Heritage coastline a few minutes drive away as well as beautiful walks over the cliffs to the iconic Durdle Door, an absolute must stay!
