This is a wonderful house, it felt like it was an honour to be able to be part of its wonderful history. We stayed in early February but the house was warm and welcoming, plenty of room for a large family and children. The hot tub was appreciated.

Absolutely fantastic stay at The Castle! Beautiful house and surrounding area. Great facilities, and we loved the hot tub. Really lovely touches like homemade Welsh cakes on arrival too. Great communication from the host, we felt really looked after. This is a very nice place indeed and we have no complaints. Pretty much all the rooms are great, the property is well maintained, tastefully decorated, and is well equipped. A couple of the rooms on the top floor are a bit challenging, but this is mentioned within the information, but again they are tastefully done. More information can be obtainedRead more by contacting the owner, which I did and she was most helpful. In fact Id say she went above and beyond to ensure our stay was fantastic. Diolch! Hide

Spectacular views, hot tub is a dream and the sound of birds made it extra special. The Roast Ox on Sunday for lunch was outstanding.

Such a lovely place to stay! We were a party of 14 adults plus a baby and toddler, and everyone loved it, especially being able to see the sheep and lambs! We ordered a delivery from Sainsburys to arrive just after check in, which was perfect, as nearest big shop in Hay on Wye. However the Roast Ox pub is a short stroll and recommended! We really e njoyed our stay and would highly recommend for a group get together! A bit tricky to find at night, so suggest guests go to Roast Ox to meet!
Heather
The Castle is the perfect home away from home for a large family gathering. There is plenty of space, including a large dining table allowing us to sit down and eat together. Every bedroom is finished to a high standard so no one will be left disappointed or left out. The kitchen is well-equipped and has everything you need to self-cater, the large utility is a useful addition. The hot tub is a real luxury, and the property and garden have been well designed. We hope to be back.
