Chy Lowen Reviews

Chy Lowen is the perfect holiday accommodation for your stay in Cornwall with either a large family or group of people. It has absolutely everything you need for a relaxing stay. We really enjoyed movie nights with the projector and relaxing in the hot tub after a day of walking. The property is spotless and the managers do everything they can to assist you. There are fantastic seaviews from 4 of the bedrooms and a very versatile lower ground floor room for those who might not be able to make the stairs. Location is great, you can either walk into town or get the shuttle bus which stops on the street next to the house. We had a mixture of ages and abilities at the house and there was something for everyone. Would happily book again. Thanks for a great holiday!
We absolutely loved the house and Liz was the perfect host. Thank you Liz. The location is fantastic and facilities even better.
We had a lovely stay at Chy Lowen and the facilities were very good. If there was anything we felt was lacking it was the fact there was no pasta dishes. All main meals had to be served on plates. Also, one or more bigger pans with lids would have been useful especially as we were cooking for 10 people.

Thoroughly enjoyable holiday, lovely property and location with superb views. Would highly recommend this property, felt immediately at home, such a relaxing place to stay.
Great location if you dont mind a hill walk back
Caroline
We spent 5 nights at this property and it was everything we wanted, clean, well equipped and great views. Steep hill up and down to the town but nice and quiet..... Would definitely recommend this property, hot tub was great too.
Chy Lowen is a beautiful property in an amazing setting. I would recommend it to anyone and hope to return in the not too distant future. Liz the owner is very helpful and informative and does ensure you enjoy your stay. A well deserved 5 stars
The property is much cliser to the caravan site than the pictures indicate. This became an issue when we used the hot tub late at night and were shouted at snd called rude names from the caravan residents. We were merely talking and laughing in the hot tub. This must be a regular problem with this property as the site contacted the property owner who cane round to tell us off ! We did not argue and got out of the hot tub. She also advised that we should not be in the hot tub after 9pm and that although the property took 10 adults the hot tub only allowed 6. Neither the curfew nor the hot tub max were made clear in the booking information. If you book a property with a hot tub you expect to be able to use it when you choose. The owners attitude was also unpleasant and she returned the following day entered the back deck uninvited and complained again and at length about the noise. She was patronising and this was unnecessary, spoiling the weekend. When you have paid 1800 for 2 nights in a property I think you should expect some privacy. It is a lovely house but we would not book it again and the restrictions and proximity to neighbouring properties should be made clear in the description.

Beautiful house, beautiful views. Loved the hot tub and big screen cinema system
Leslie
Very modern and well presented house with lovely sea view and outside decking Spacious and comfortable accommodation and excellent facilities. Furnished with high quality appliances and they all work well Lounge area well designed and TV Projector and sound systems a bonus Well equipped kitchen and dining area would comfortably seat 10 Only reservation is that although there is car parking space access to and from is a bit tricky Thoroughly recommended
We arrived early but was told we could park at the property and explore St Ives, when we drove in Liz the owner was there and said the cleaning was done and we could go in. we looked upstairs first to see the view from the large balcony which was fantastic. The bedroom downstairs had an ensuite so my granddaughter went in there with her 1 year old daughter and partner. would recommend to anyone although St Ives has some very steep roads so need to be fit.

Chy Lowen is a very lovely and beautiful house. We love it very much and we were very happy there.

A few things let this holiday down, firstly there was a building site next door, noise every day. The king size beds are just singles linked together so there is a big lip where they join. Every shower in the place was leaking around the shower head. We did not feel welcome at all, we met the owner on the day of arrival, we chatted but she was very weary of us as we were a group of 25 year olds and one baby it did not make us feel welcome at all. Parking is another thing, there is only a gap just wide enuff to fit your car through, have to monouver to fit the 4 cars on. Two out of the 4 cars scraped every day as there was a big pothole at the end of the drive causing a lip wich could not be avoided. Then you had to drive over two manhole covers that are bent with the weight of cars going over them as there only pedestrian rated. We also felt there shoils of been a grass area somewhere around the house especially for any children that visit. Overall very disappointed for the cost of the hoilday.
