Groes Lwyd Reviews

The property and amenities were wonderful. Kath and Michael were lovely hosts very informative and helpful. Would definitely recommend this property.
Brenda
What can I say, the cottage was amazing, as were the owners Kath and Mick. So helpful and thoughtful. On arrival there was a lovely welcome box, something for everyone, including the dogs. The cottage is very well presented with a spacious garden, the kids and dogs were very happy. First time away for Christmas, and was not disappointed. The whole family had a relaxing time away and would definitely visit again.
Kenneth
The house and the surrounding garden really and truly exceeded our expectation, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Only one point I would raise and possibly due to my age! I would prefer to have a handrail on both sides of the staircase and small handrails for the couple of steps leading from the bedrooms. This comment would however not stop me renting again.

Mick & Kath you are to be congratulated on an outstanding property. Position with beautiful views & lots of wildlife in the large enclosed garden. Squirrels, Pheasants, Nuthatch & Buzzards & Kites. Our dog Georgie thought this was great racing up & down the garden. The cottage was spotlessly clean. Bedrooms spacious & offering views. Large KitchenDiner overlooking busy bird feeders & garden. We enjoyed our stay having lovely meals out The Dovers Inn through Ruthin & passed the ALDI on the the way to Denbigh and The Grouse Inn Carrog. Could not wish for better hosts. Any problems or questions they were more than willing to help.Thankyou for letting us stay.
Barbara
A lovely spacious house, very well equipped and very comfortable. The owners are lovely and so helpful. Lots to see and do nearby but no need to go out, the garden and hot tub are wonderful!
Lovely large property, we were very comfortable and had everything we needed. The owners were very helpful.
We have stayed in many cottages but this has got to be one of the best by a long way. Everything was in the cottage that you could need with little extras to enhance your holiday. The property was clean and tidy with a lovely garden and hot tub too. The owners were amazing nothing was too much trouble and were there if you needed anything and so helpful. They also provided a lovely welcome pack which everyone enjoyed even the dog had treats. Once again a fabulous place and would recommend to anyone but, a massive thank you to the owners how made it even better
Tracey

Great place to stay. Owners very helpful and pleasant. House was beautiful as was the scenery. Huge garden for the dogs to roam around in and hot tub was very relaxing.
Great location to get away from it all Owners are lovely and accommodating. The property is well maintained especially for such an old property. We were a party of 8 for which we found no issues with room even when the rain came. We highly l recommend and have no doubt we will be back.

Groes Lwyd is by far the nicest holiday cottage that we have stayed in and we go away several times a year! . The cottage is set in a beautiful location with stunning views and is equipped with everything you need and more! It has a very well equipped kitchen, 2 lounges with TV, books and games, log burning stove and the most comfortable beds! Add to all of this amazing hosts who are just next door but not intrusive, a very nice welcome pack and the log burning hot tub we had a super holiday and will return.
Lovely house, beautiful location. Kath and Mick really made us welcome. We all really enjoyed our week it just went to fast. The garden is perfect if you have dogs and the visiting wild life was a real joy to see. A very relaxing place thank you .
Beautiful property. Lovely and clean and very homely. Bedrooms are large with comfortable beds. Nice main bathroom & ensuite bathroom. Downstairs toilet as well. Huge kitchen with everything you need. Great facilities if you have dogs too. Hot tub was brilliant! Garden well maintained. The owners were lovely and very helpful. Definitely recommend people to stay in this lovely cottage.
The accommodation was lovely, well maintained, it had everything we needed and more, the only thing we had a problem with was the heating, it was quite cold in the property, would have liked a bit more warmth whether on a timer or whether we could have put it on more when we needed to.
Christopher
Stunning area, views that take your breath away from every window, lovely large, secure garden and the cottage was spacious yet very cosy. The house had everything you could possibly need, especially the kitchen. The excellent welcome pack was such a lovely touch with not only essentials, but a few treats too. Hot tub was lovely, very quick to get up to temperature. Kath and Mick were wonderful hosts, there if needed but not at all intrusive. Very welcoming, friendly and down to earth. I cannot recommend this place and hosts highly enough. We will definitely be returning.
Had a brilliant time, cottage was beautiful and the views were amazing. The cottage itself is stunning, and we loved the hot tub, especially the kids. Would definitely recommend and be returning, the hosts were also lovely and added little touches that made our holiday extra special. Thank you for having us!!
We have stayed in many a holiday cottage over the years and this was by and far one of the best we've ever stayed at. Lovely cottage, very spacious, superb locationviews and certainly the cleanest. Kath & Mick were brilliant and we couldn't have asked for more. We visited in the summer but can imagine that in the winter it would be wonderful place to stay. We aim to book again...
Excellent cottage and delightful garden with views of the Berwyn hills. The cottage has a lovely feel to it, and all the facilities you would expect. The garden is particularly attractive lots of sitting areas, BBQ, birdlife. Peaceful, fairly remote location, but in easy reach of Corwen. The owners live next door and were extremely helpful whenever needed. We hope to return.

Fabulous location. Super helpful hosts, Kath, Mick and Bob the dog. We arrived late and the house was warm, dim lights on, with a welcome tray, a fabulous welcome after a long drive. Plus the hosts, had kept the hot tub all heated and waiting for us. The house was extremely clean and we loved all the books, maps, dvds and games in the snug. The hosts gave us recommendations on places to visit with our paddle boards. Highly recommend a stay here. X
