Hawthorn Escape Reviews

Emma Carter
We had a lovely stay at this charming cottage. It’s super cosy and had everything we needed, plus a thoughtful welcome pack from the owners. The location is peaceful and perfect for a quiet getaway. Unfortunately, we had to cut our trip short because of family issues, but the cottage was a bit smaller than we expected, especially with our two medium-sized dogs. The garden is lovely with a hot tub, but with our reactive dogs, the open fencing and nearby footpath made it unsuitable for us. Still, a nice spot overall!
Emma
Comfortable and well-stocked, definitely worth a visit, highly recommend!

We had a fantastic stay at this cosy cottage. The location was ideal for us-just enough peace and quiet to unwind, with plenty of scenic walks nearby. Our two dogs loved it too! The hot tub was a real treat after busy days exploring. Dean and Kirsty were lovely hosts-friendly but respectful of our privacy. We also appreciated the thoughtful touches like the goodies left for both us and the dogs. Honestly, we’re already planning our next visit. Definitely recommend for a relaxing getaway!

From the moment we arrived, the hosts made us feel really at home with homemade dog treats, bubblyand cake! They’re super quick to reply if you have any questions, which was great. The cottage’s quirky design is charming, though my tall partner kept hitting his head on the beams-funny! The garden was so peacefuland the hot tub was just what we needed after a day out. Emma
We had a really lovely stay! The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed, plus a great location. The hot tub was a real highlight, so relaxing. The owners were super friendly and even left some thoughtful extras which was a lovely touch. Our dog, who’s quite the escape artist, didn’t manage to get out of the garden at all. Just a heads up, some pubs nearby only serve food Thursday to Sunday, so plan accordingly if you want to eat out during the week. Overall, a great getaway!

The Jungle Zoo - NR31 9EY
about 29 Miles
Centred around a Tropical House in an amazing jungle like setting this is a really unique attraction that will appeal to families.  In the Cleethorpes area of Lincolnshire it's easy to get to and offers a fun yet educational experience.  Referred to as the number one attraction in the area highlights include capuchin monkeys, meerkats, ring tailed lemur and for the children African pygmy goats.  The tropical house features Red Eared and other Terrapins from North America and goldfish amongst other things.  We think The Jungle Zoo represents excellent value for money too.  We recommend a whole day to explore this attraction and ensure you get to see all of the animals resident there.
