Woodland Lodge Reviews

Little Lodge was in a stunning location set back into your own woodlands. Very peaceful. Lots of space for dogs made them feel at home to. The lodge was lovely and spacious the fire in the living room made it all more than cosy in evenings. The only downside no biggy but the sofa bed if using as a bed isn't very comfy at all. The owners left lots of stuff ie puzzles, books, games to use which was very nice. The kitchen is very well equipped. The bed room upstairs is very big and spacious. In the gardens the hot tub was a lovely extra but when in cold weather it is very expensive to run, we felt that they fire side of it needed a good cleaning out as couldn't always get it to fire up properly as sticky black stuff kept coming down but that is a quick fix. There is lots of walks for the dogs ect around they property. The owners are very nice and helpful to. I would highly recommend staying here. Thanks for a lovely week
Sandra
Woodland Lodge is a very secluded Lodge within a wood, a must if you like to get away from it all and like to see the wildlife. The wood burner was wonderful in the recent cold weather. With the underfloor heating we were very snug. Unfortunately the upstairs bedroom was very cold so we slept downstairs on the sofa bed which was very comfortable. The kitchen is great to cook in, I would suggest a few more items like cooking utensils large spoon, fish slice but otherwise super. Rob, is just at the end of the phone and extremely helpful. One personal point from me is a mirror in the upstairs bedroom would be great for drying hair etc. This is a great self catering place to stay, it is fully self catering which for seasoned self caterers I had taken tea towels, dish cloths, cleaning spray etc so no issues for us. Would definitely recommend Woodland Lodge for a relaxing get away from it all break.
Woodlands Lodge My wife and I stayed at Woodlands Lodge over Christmas and in short we enjoyed our stay. However I would like to say its a tale of two halves and maybe you can learn from us. But again I say we really enjoyed our stay and heres why. The lodge is located a little over 3 miles outside Boston, Lincolnshire. Set back from the road and surrounded by farmland and woods near the lodge, which you can explore. The lodge is on the owners land but set away so you still have some privacy. The lodge itself has the sitting room, dining area and kitchen and bathroom on the ground floor. Off the kitchen a stair case takes you to the double bedroom on the first floor. Out of a set of patio doors there is an enclosed garden which includes a raised decked area with a wood fired, hot tub which we didnt use and furniture, which would be lovely in the warmer times of year. There is plenty of room for parking but it is easier to drive in than to drive out, only because you have to do a two point turn to face the correct way. This is an observation not a reason not to go. The front room has a sofa bed to sit on, is an unusual design but was comfortable enough as a sofa. The bed pulls out but we did not use it. A coffee table, book case with some books and TV stand with freeview, TV completes the furniture. The woodburner is something to behold and some wood was next to the burner. The flooring is tiled and extends throughout the ground floor. The kitchen is modern and attractive to look at. The centre piece is a large multistove oven. A basic microwave oven and fridge for equipment. It is basically equipped but as the lodge is typically for two people this is may be understandable. I do feel that previous people may have had accidents and the odd bits have been broken and not replaced. On the odd occasion we had to be a bit creative when cooking as we do. The kitchen does not have a washing machine or freezer but it was not advertised with them. We missed this in the description, presuming that modern kitchens would have this but it was our mistake and not the owners. We were advised that because a lot of the stays are a week or less there is no reason to install them. The owner did offer help if we had anything that we needed in a freezer, which was nice. The bathroom has a shower over a bath, a large sink with a decent illuminated mirror and of course the lavatory. It may be of some help to note there are no taps to run a bath, per sa, just a shower. The dining area has a nice dining room table to seat six people, place mats are available etc. But not enough wine glasses for six, during our stay. As I say the lodge is for two typically, so enough for those who stay. On the landing having gone up stairs is a heated clothes airer do dry hand washed stuff, I guess. The bedroom has a double bed and a set of draws. I guess that because of the shape room not much else would fit. The room is set in the roof space and has sloping walls. It is still a large space and only the very tall, like myself, may have to bend a little. The garden is enclosed by an attractive fence and has a mixture of stone and for the most grass. There is a raised decked area where the hottub is located. The hot tub is fire fed and the logs are provided for you to buy. The logs are 15 a sack, kindling is 6 sack and fire lighters are 2 price correct Dec 24. Whilst the listing does offer a starter pack for the woodburner in the front room I was unsure where that might be. We wouldnt use it though for personal reasons, looks nice though. The lodge is, as we say, enjoyable and I expect during the warmer times of the year really special. But with a little love and consideration could be a real gem to come back to time and time again. We spent time doing a few things to improve the odd thing but we shouldnt have to do it. If we were to ask for anything, we would ask for a pint of milk on arrival so we could have a cup of tea before our shopping arrived. When did that stop being a thing?

Thank you for a lovely stay, it was just perfect exactly what we wanted nice and peaceful. Kitchen had everything we needed and very big.

We loved our holiday to the Woodland Lodge, it was the perfect little getaway, surrounded by Woodland to explore it was perfect for our reactive dog as there was no one else around. The lodge is very isolated and peaceful which was perfect for us, the wood fired hot tub was great to relax in, especailly with the woodland surrounding. The owner was very helpful and sensitive to our sitution having a reactive dog and was very respectful. We would 100 return to the Woodland Lodge for a peaceful, restful holiday.
Such a lovely weekend away at woodland lodge, the house was perfect for 2 of us. Amazing facilities and plenty of things to do around it. The location is quite secluded but within a 5 minute drive from anything you need. Struggled to get the fire started for the hot tub but one message to the host and he was straight there sorting it for us. Would highly recommend and would definitely return in the future

The setting of the property is perfect for peace and quit break. It was comfortable and cosy. The slight downsides were, No where to hang clothes etc No visitor information, places to seego. No storage for outdoor seat cushions, as once wet take days to dry. No door mat or mop to wipe floors for muddy paw prints etc. Bathroom floor was dirty in parts, also toothbrush holder was dirty. No dishwasher as advertised by Sykes. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but as above we feel there is room for improvement.
Debbie
The house was stunning and situated down a country lane with beautiful peaceful views all round. The owner was helpful when messaged. It took 5 hours and a lot of attention to get the spa going but once it had reached temperature it maintained it very well. It is very private. A hook on the back of the bathroom door would be nice to put your towels and also a little shed to store the cushions from the outdoor sofas. It was very very peaceful, relaxing and private and we would definitely like to return. It was very dog friendly and there was a good sized portion of the garden that was securely fenced for the dogs and so you could relax completely knowing they were safe. Negatives which didn't really impact our stay are The kitchen tap does not turn into position and may get broken trying to do this at some point. The underfloor heating covers a massive area and only works on certain floor tiles.
Pauline
Excellent location, lovely enclosed garden for dog, with access to a bigger area for zoomies! Quiet peaceful setting. Well equipped kitchen, plenty of utensils and cutlery. Comfortable sitting area, good supply of books and games. Bedroom spacious, lots of electrical points throughout. Access to shower the step into bath is high without a handrail which could be difficult if balance not good. Also instructions on how to work shower would have been good, easy once you knew, but owner answered call immediately and came over. Some cosmetic work needed to rooms, but I understand the owners haven't been there long and have been concentrating on outside, so I'm sure it won't be long until it's finished. It really is a beautiful place to stay, with easy access to surrounding places and I would be happy to visit again

The holiday cottage was amazing very private but when we arrived the outdoor ... The holiday cottage was amazing very private but when we arrived the outdoor seating was very dirty so I had to clean it all down before we could sit on it unfortunately we didn't get to use the hot tub as it was woodfire and not enough wood left maybe that should be fired up for our arrival and really we shouldn't have to buy our own wood it's a facility the owners provide so disappointed we couldn't use the hot tub also the grass to rear garden seriously needs cutting it's very long and also looks scruffy but apart from these things the holiday was lovely but when u on holiday from busy jobs we need to relax and messing on with a wood fired hot tub is not my idea that was stressful but on a whole a beautiful property also guys you need new double doors to the garden they have wood rot thankyou for letting us stay tho with good maintenance that house will be amazing x
My partner and I went with our two dogs. It was an ideal location for us. The property was lovely, clean and well thought out. We didnt use the hot tub but walked the dogs in the woodland area then came back to a lovely log fire on some evenings. I would definitely go again and recommend to anyone who wants a nice peaceful break.

The cottage location is just perfect! The surroundings are beautiful and very peaceful, we did not see anyone about in the 4 days we were there, which was just as we hoped. We took our 2 dogs, who really enjoyed the woods and garden. The enclosed part of the garden was ideal and very secure. The cottage was very clean inside and modern. The bed and pillows were comfy and the teenager reported back that the sofa bed was lovely to sleep on to! We did have a couple of little negatives, but these did not stop us enjoying our stay. Such as only one saucepan and a little milk pan, plus there were very few items in the cupboards, including no jug or bowl, which made it difficult to cook. The cooker, however, is a new range and was great to use. The only other little negative was how cold the bedroom was. The heat just did not travel upstairs, even with the door open all evening, and so we were cold in bed. The lounge though, was lovely and toasty with the log fire burning and this made the cottage feel very cosy and homely. The hot tub was nice, especially of an evening looking at the stars and listening to the local owl hooting. We would definitely recommend this cottage, in fact we have to family already, and we would like to visit again in the future. Thank you for a wonderful NY stay
We absolutely loved our stay at Woodland Cottage and will definitely be back next year! Its a lovely set up and location. The dog loved having the woods to explore and my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub!
Cassandra
The Lodge was beautiful and clean. The owners Rob and Lucy have thought about everything you may need for lovely comfortable stay and are always on hand if you need anything. The snack gift basket was a nice surprise and the children thought the decorations for Halloween and the pumpkins for them to carve were brilliant. If you love stars you will want to stay here as the skies on a clear night are brilliant especially when you can relax in the hot tub to look at them. We stopped 4 cosy nights and loved everyone of them. We will definitely be booking again.
Steven
Honestly this was better than we expected! Perfect honeymoon getaway for us and perfect for anyone looking for tranquility and peace! The hosts Rob & Lucy were amazing and were always on hand to help if we needed. Genuinely they asked me for feedback to make the place better and we couldnt even think of any! This is going to be our home away from home once a year now!! Thanks Rob & Lucy see you guys next year if not sooner!!

Natureland Seal Sanctuary - PE25 1DB

Awarded the Lincolnshire Family Attraction of the Year award in recent years this fun day out is recommended. You can see seals and penguins, as well as other animals in the popular pets corner.  Feeding time for the seals and penguins is the real highlight of the day. Entertainment, education and conservation are the main aims of this attraction. Natureland's work with abandoned baby seals has become known worldwide and it's carefully researched rearing and treatment program is now used by many other rescue centres.
Rushmoor Country Park - GU10 1ET
about 25 Miles
Located in Louth in Lincolnshire this is an ideal attraction when you want to get out in the fresh air and explore. There are many animals to see including ponies and piglets which the little ones love.  There are also some amazing birds from hawks and falcons to owls.  Most aspects of this attraction are included in the admission cost and as well as wandering around you get to hold and feed the animals too.  A real highlight are the micro pigs which are just like real pigs but in miniature.  Fully grown they are around the size of a spaniel!  If you get hungry then you can take your own picnic to the picnic areas or head for the tea room selling delicious food and children's meals too.
