Field View Escape Reviews

Emma
This place was so peaceful, we didn't want to leave, really enjoyed our stay!
James
We loved the peacefulness of this cosy cottage away from the hustle. The owners were lovely and made us feel welcome. It was well furnished and warm, though some new glasses, cutleryand crockery would make a big difference without costing much. Still, a really nice stay overall!
Alex
Honestly, we were a bit disappointed. We were hoping for a proper home-from-home experience, not just something that’s barely adequate. We love cooking ourselves and prefer not to eat out or order in, so the place should feel a bit more self-catering-friendly than what we found. The property is lovely but could do with a few tweaks to really shine. We get the glass issue by the hot tub, but it’d be nice if the info book mentioned plastic glasses outside and offered some decent options. We ended up bringing scissors, a grater, foiland cling film ourselves. It’s a nice spot, but it could be so much better with a little thought.
Emily
Beautiful scenery, friendly hosts, really enjoyed the stay.

What a charming little cottage! We loved the peaceful setting in the Lincolnshire countryside, with lovely views over the farmland. The hot tub was a real highlight, we used it almost every evening. The place was spotless and super comfy. It’s close enough to Lincoln for day trips, but nice and secluded. Plenty of lovely walks right outside the door. The owners were friendly from start to finish. Perfect for a family getaway with a small dog. We’ll definitely be back!
Emma
Great spot with a lovely vibeand hosts couldn’t be more helpful!
Emma
The beds were really comfy and the linen was top quality. All the cutlery you could need was there. The hot tub was fantastic, especially at night with the lights on. Can't wait to visit in summer!

We really enjoyed staying at this charming cottage. The views of the Wolds and open skies are stunningand it’s super close to Lincoln, Woodall Spaand Horncastle. The bed was so comfy, perfect for a good sleepand we loved relaxing with a cuppa and birdwatching in bed. Parking, Wi-Fiand TV all worked great. Hosts were lovely!

Perfect cottage in a perfect location, close to Lincoln center but far enough away for peace & quiet. Stayed for 7 days & didn't want to leave. The hosts are great & were very friendly. We felt very comfortable in the cottage, beds were great and sofa was great too (important to us as we have pain conditions). Hot tub was a lovely addition & the viRead moreew from the hot tub was perfect, a huge great big sugar beet field - We saw so many butterflies, dragonflies and birds flying over, it was lovely. 5 Hide

We went here to unwind and totally agree it’s perfect for a peaceful break. It’s really quiet, ideal for recharging. But you should know, you’ll need to drive to get anywhere - no shops or cafes nearby. The kitchen’s quite limited; only four of everything, so we kept washing up just to have a warm drink. No info booklet about local spots or Wi-Fi code either, which was a bit frustrating. One bedroom had no storage, so we had to use the hallway drawers. Still, it’s a nice spot for a quiet retreat.
Emma
The cottage was lovely, right next to a cornfield - perfect for relaxing. We enjoyed the hot tub and the WiFi was spot on. Great for exploring Lincoln and the RAF museums, though a bit of a trek to the beach. Hosts were super friendly and helpful.
James
Great experience, Andy was really friendly!
Emily
Really enjoyed the cosy cottage and the stunning views, would definitely return!
Emma
The cottage was spotlessly clean and had stunning views. The hot tub was just perfect for relaxing. The owner was really helpful and went out of their way. We’ll definitely be back soon. Thanks for a great weekend!

Rushmoor Country Park - GU10 1ET
about 22 Miles
Located in Louth in Lincolnshire this is an ideal attraction when you want to get out in the fresh air and explore. There are many animals to see including ponies and piglets which the little ones love.  There are also some amazing birds from hawks and falcons to owls.  Most aspects of this attraction are included in the admission cost and as well as wandering around you get to hold and feed the animals too.  A real highlight are the micro pigs which are just like real pigs but in miniature.  Fully grown they are around the size of a spaniel!  If you get hungry then you can take your own picnic to the picnic areas or head for the tea room selling delicious food and children's meals too.
Pleasure Island - DN35 0PL
about 28 Miles
Wow this is an amazing family theme park and you will probably need the full day to experience it all.  From thrilling rides to family shows, kids of all ages are catered for.  Some of the most popular rides include the Obliterator and The Pendulus, not forgetting the Hypoblaster.   Family shows are entertaining such as the African Acrobat Show which is back by popular demand.  Entrance tickets are good value and if you book online you will receive a discount. To save even more money if you live locally or are visiting the area for a few weeks you could buy a season ticket for around £50 which will allow you entry for the whole season.
The Jungle Zoo - NR31 9EY
about 28 Miles
Centred around a Tropical House in an amazing jungle like setting this is a really unique attraction that will appeal to families.  In the Cleethorpes area of Lincolnshire it's easy to get to and offers a fun yet educational experience.  Referred to as the number one attraction in the area highlights include capuchin monkeys, meerkats, ring tailed lemur and for the children African pygmy goats.  The tropical house features Red Eared and other Terrapins from North America and goldfish amongst other things.  We think The Jungle Zoo represents excellent value for money too.  We recommend a whole day to explore this attraction and ensure you get to see all of the animals resident there.
