The Stables Reviews

Absolutely stunning property. With beautiful views. Short drives to some great places. Lovely to come back and relax here. Was so cosy and warm. Would definitely stay again. Thanks for having us!

I couldnt fault this cottage at all, its perfect, comfortable and there is everything you need there. We loved the welcome pack you provided, hot tub and log burner. If youre lucky you might get to see Ernie the resident highland cow. I am definitely going to come back.
Thoroughly enjoyable stay at The Stables. Slight disappointment was that the Dining Table couldnt seat 6. Our party was 5 adults which meant that either 1 person had to sit to eat at the Breakfast Bar or we squashed up a little & brought a Patio chair in from outside! Other than this, a very well equipped & comfortable property
We had a lovely break. The cottage was spotlessly clean and all needed amenities were available. The hot tub was the star of the show and worked flawlessly. Beds were comfortable. Would definitely return.

The property was exactly what you see. It is set in a beautiful part of the Lake District. You do need a car to get to places.Highly recommend a stay.

The Stables is set in quiet countryside with beautiful views. I also rented Hannahs Cottage as we were having a large family gathering this combination worked very satisfactorily, both in terms of accommodation and indooroutdoor socialising and games space. The Stables is presented very attractively throughout and has a well equipped kitchen the bedrooms are comfortable with useful storage space. On a few occasions the water pressure in one shower, or the other, dropped to a trickle only, which I reported to the owners, who are easily available. We would happily return to The Stables.

Beautiful cottage in a fantastic location, lovely welcome basket and relaxed weekend had. The hot tub was perfect and beds very comfy will definitely be back

Lovelly cottage which is finished to a very high standard. Everything was thought of by the hosts including an amazing welcome package which was a nice touch. The garden is great for the kids to play in and the views are lovelly. We recommend coming in via Kirby Lonsdale as the roads are just that bit easier to navigate we drove a transporter van Hosts friendly but not in your face etc and saying hello to Ernie the bull was our daughters daily highlight. Quick access to the lakes and lots of stuff nearby to do. Will visit again.
Over the moon with our 3 night stay at the Stables, clean comfortable and ... Over the moon with our 3 night stay at the Stables, clean comfortable and peaceful in a beautiful area the Hot tub was gorgeous, just what we needed to celebrate our friends birthday Thankyou
We had an absolutely fantastic stay. The property was pristine and very cosy for a weekend with the girls. A very well equipped kitchen with fantastic welcome goodies and helpful extras such as jars of sauces. The rooms were all very comfortable and the open plan living area was perfect for a sociable weekend. Loved having the hottub however the water level dropped considerably due to there being 6 of us using it I think it is designed for 4 not six so it was a bit snug and there was no tap or hose for us to easily access to top it back up so unfortunately we were not able to use it on our second night because the temperature had dropped so much due to the lack of water. A guest book to leave feedback would be great as we had lots of lovely comments about our stay but nowhere to share them. Thank you for a lovely stay, Im sure well be back.

Absolute hidden gem! We will definitely be back again! Extremely clean and very welcoming! Perfect for my 2 children! Also the hot tub was a added bonus! The owners couldnt be more welcoming and really did the go the extra mile! They provide you with virtually everything you need and more! We will definitely be visiting again! Thankyou for a great stay!
The Stables is a beautiful cottage on a farm with the most spectacular views. The sunsets were a highlight along with the local walks enjoying the grazing sheep and cattle! The cottage is immaculate a lovely barn restored to a high standard, nice furnishings and extremely clean. The owners are friendly and welcoming. My children loved visiting Ernie the Highland bull and playing on the turfed lawn. We would come again in a heartbeat!
This property is an absolute gem, it is so well kitted out, so comfortable and the owners were so welcoming, helpful and attentive. The location itself is breath taking, with the most beautiful views and walks. If we could rate more than 5 star we would, and we will most certainly be going back.

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
