We had a wonderful stay. The place is just so lovely and on a perfect spot in the middle of the country. The hut was spotless and hosts very friendly. Weather wasnt great but when you want to snuggle up, you dont need much apart from a good company We can definitely recommend this accommodation and hopefully we will come again to climb the hills.

Another amazing stay, we stayed in May last year and July this year. The hut was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The hot tub was amazing, especially after a long walk. The pubs in Sedberg are all very nice and welcoming. Helen and Richard are friendly hosts.

We absolutely loved the location of the hut as the views were spectacular! The hot tub was maintained on a daily basis by the very friendly owners, very welcoming after each days walking from the hut. The hut is more than well equipped for anything you need. The milk and amazing free range eggs were very appreciated. We very rarely return to the sa me places as we like to explore different areas but the shepherds hit at Winder is one exception we will make to that and would definitely return!
Kathleen
Absolutely stunning location for our hot tub holiday. Helen and Richard our professional and friendly hosts provided everything for us , including Excellent Netflix quality. The hot tub was an amazing experience, with the beautiful mountain landscape all around us . Only to be topped by the luxury of free logs and fire lighters for the fire pit .. W e were there for hot weather during the summer solstice and felt truly blessed. We can't wait to rebook and feel it all again.

We had a fabulous few days at the Height of Winder shepherd's hut - amazing views from the hot tub and lovely, cosy accommodation. Hosts were friendly with good local knowledge and the location made the Dales and the Lakes easily accessible. A really special place to stay, so much so, we got engaged here.
Jeffrey
Our 4th visit and it will not be our last as the hut just gets better each time, with nice tweaks by the lovely and owners Helen & Richard. A naturally brilliant location is complimented by the hut setting and whether you are looking for a place to chill, read, think and relax or as a base to explore the Dales or Lakes this accommodation enables yo u to do both.
Megan
The cottage was absolutely beautiful the perfect size for me and my boyfriend. The owners were wonderful and welcoming. It was an amazing weekend away, we both would recommend to anyone. The views were beautiful and although the cottage was placed in the middle of nowhere it was so peaceful and just a 20 minute drive from just about anywhere we wan ted to go.
Bobbie
We have just returned from an idyllic stay in the shepherd's hut. This is our second stay here and, this time, we stayed a week. The hut is so cosy and very well equipped. We did lots of walking and the hut and the hot tub were lovely to come "home" to. The hosts are friendly and helpful and kind. We loved the peace and quiet in the hut and the bir dlife and, of course, the lambs! The views from every window are glorious. We are already planning our return. Definitely recommend!
Andrea
Absolutely fabulous, relaxing Easter weekend. Perfect location. Everything you can possibly need down to the plastic champagne flutes for the hot tub! The hut itself is so cosy and warm with underfloor heating. Helen & Richard the hosts made us feel extremely welcome. We will definitely be returning.
Lauren
Perfect short weekend. Helen and Richard are so lovely, the hut it compact but everything you need in once place. Hot tub is huge and a welcome luxury after a day of climbing the surrounding hills. We cant wait to return in the warmer months!
Jeremy
The Shepherds Hut was all we hoped for and more. An idilic location, fantastic for walking or relaxing in the hot tub. Helen and Richard were terrific hosts, extremely helpful and supportive but hugely respectful of our privacy. The hut is really well equipped, very warm and cosy. We will look forward to returning one day.
Michael
Amazing holiday with incredible views. Helen and Richard were very welcoming and even left us some milk and fresh eggs in the hut for when we got there. The hut in itself is perfectly equipped and in a great location for exploring either the lakes or dales. Helen suggested a good walk up on the howgills to calf top right from your door and went thr ough the route with me on the map that is in the hut for your use, it was a great 4.5hr round hike. Thoroughly loved our stay
Simon
Absolutely beautiful little hut. The location is great, with the convenience of the village only a few minutes drive away. Really snug with the underfloor heating, warm and comfortable even though we had a storm while we stayed. The hot tub adds an 'extra size' to the hut and makes the space feel so much bigger. Safe to say we are already thinking of visiting again
Keith
We had a wonderful stay here. The views are absolutely breathtaking, and the shepherd's hut is very comfortable. We were surprised at how well equipped it is, being spacious at the same time. The owners were very welcoming and made us feel at home. We'll definitely be back!

Fantastic stay in this amazing accommodation, set in beautiful surroundings. Helen and Richard were so welcoming, checking everything was okay passing on their knowledge of the area and some great walks. The village is blessed with several places to eat and some bespoke shops. We stayed for a week and found lots to do, even when it was raining. The hot tub was much appreciated after a long walk! Will definitely be returning...
Bridey

A perfect break, in perfect accommodation, in the perfect setting! Fantastic location for exploring the Lakes and Dales. Helen and Richard have thought of everything, including a secure bike store, and were the perfect hosts. Nothing more relaxing than enjoying those views from the hot tub after a day in the Howgills! Good choice of eateries a 20 m in stroll away. We will be back!
Wendy
Nice little 2 night break away for my husbands 40th. Absolutely stunning views in a lovely secluded spot. No one else around to bother you. The hut was amazing. Lovely and clean and very comfortable. Plenty of sockets, had everything we needed. The hot tub was fantastic. Also clean and was kept warm all the time, so no having to wait for it to warm up. The owner Helen is a lovely lady and very helpful. It is a working farm so may get woken early. But so worth it and would definitely recommend it
Michaela

The shepherd's hut was just perfect for us, the views were incredible, the privacy and quiet of there only being the one hut was really special. The hut was clean and we had all we needed. The milk in the fridge on arrival was so appreciated after a long drive. The hosts could not have been more welcoming and friendly. We would love to come back... hopefully during lambing season!
Darren
Ideally situated for both the lakes and dales whether youre into driving or walking. And the view from the hot tub as the sun goes down is stunning .
Stephen
The Shepards Hut was amazing. The views were incredible, either sitting on the veranda or in the hot tub. Couldnt fault a thing. The owners were very friendly and helpful.
Jeffrey
3rd stay here in 3rd year of operation and wonderful as ever, whether you are looking for a base to explore the dales or the lake district, this is not just the perfect location but also the perfect accommodation for those looking for a beautiful setting with that added touch of quality in fixtures and fittings. We have already re-booked for our 4t h year and can't wait to return to this little bit of heaven hosted by the excellent Helen and her husband Richard
Candii
Honestly the entire stay was perfect. We had everything we needed to cook with, every little thing has been thought about right down to shower caps. We wanted a peaceful and secluded getaway and we certainly got it. Hot tub was lovely with amazing views. I grew up in the country so this didn't bother me but it is a working farm and that does mean t hat you might smell manure but we only did one day when I assume they were spreading the fields. Can't thank Helen and her family enough, perfect!
Gemma
The Shepreds Hut was amazing. It had everything we needed, was very cosy and the hot tub was wonderful. We had a brilliant sleep every night. The views were stunning. We walked to Cautley Spout and back one day, and to Dent and back another day. Helen and Richard were very friendly. We will defiantly be going back. It was the most relaxing holiday we have ever had.
