Moorhen Lodge Reviews

The Lodge was well maintained and comfortable in the main just found the bed too soft in the double room. Hot tub was excellent. Location was gorgeous and our friendly host Poppy was around at least once a day.
Realy nice place to stay very peacfull location great hot tub
The lodge was very clean and comfortable. All equipment that we could have needed was there and the owners were friendly and approachable, without being intrusive. The lodge was very private and secluded but still within short distance to amenities and attractions. We would love to venture back!

Followed your post code and it didn't take me to the lodge, after driving around for about an hour I asked a local and he actually took us to the lodge and once there i entered the coordinates in to my sat nav. the position is N52 deg 46.55. W 002 deg 57.475. I don't know if this will help but once I inputted these coordinates it took me straight to the lodge from where ever i was returning from. Apart from that the lodge is in a lovely position overlooking nice grassed area with a lake and surrounding trees. and yes I would go back. The girls enjoyed the hot tub and it also has a nice gas barbeque .

Apologies for the delay in responding. We loved Moorhen Lodge, it had everything that we needed and more!
A great property, in a lovely spot, though not easy to find. Reasonably well equiped with good parking. Hot water system was excellent but shower controls are getting very stiff and need some attention. Hot tub available but not used on this visit.
Fantastic time had, thoroughly recommend.
Beautiful place, clean and comfortable with everything you could need for a relaxing stay. Not too far from plenty of places to visit but far enough away from the noise of city life. The owners were friendly and happy to help, their dog was a huge hit with our children who adored her, she was super friendly. Would definitely return we had a lovely stay. Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break, in a beautiful area.

If you would like a nice quite, peaceful setting this is for you. Lovely place with the birds singing all day long. The accommodation is superb and vey comfortable. The owner, who lives close by, is very friendly and helpful. Very large lawn with woods and lakes at the back. Although it is quiet it is not far to places of interest for you to tour around and visit. I would go back again and recommend it to everybody.

Very nice place to rest. If you are looking for quiet nature place this place perfect.
This was a perfect cottage in a lovely location. The owners could not have done more, we really appreciated the bubbly left for us and any queries were dealt with promptly and with no fuss. We would definitely recommend this to others and would visit again in a heartbeat.

Great accomodation, lovely location. Nice and out of the way and friendly host. Take away food from the Cross Keys was brilliant and there is a nice walk mostly across fields to the Three Pigeons in Nesscliffe. Great place to explore the area
Elaine
Had a lovely week at Moorhen Lodge. Everything you could possibly need was provided and the lovely bottle of sparkling wine was an added bonus. The hot tub provided that extra relaxation for all of us after days out.
Bethany
The owners were really lovely and could not have done any more for us. They allowed us to have an early checkin, had a bottle of bubbly chilling for us and even let us checkout later than usual. The lodge itself was lovely and homely, and spotless! They really did an amazing job, especially considering it was a last minute booking. The lodge is located in a really beautiful setting and isn't overlooked by any other buildings. I can't recommend this place enough
Carmen

The accommodation was incredibly clean and in gorgeous surroundings. The hot tub was lovely and a lovely gift of sparkling wine and shortbread biscuits was a nice touch. Will definitely be recommending to family and friends.
Super location, peaceful setting but only a mile or so if you want to dine out or go for a drink. Definitely worth a visit if you want to experience the unspoilt countryside and relax.
Vivienne
This property is marvellous. The peace and quiet was rejuvenating. The hot tub was to die for. Can really recommend it if you are looking to get away from it all and have a peaceful break. Everything you could need was catered for with a lovely welcome pack of wine, biscuits, milk and tea coffee and sugar. And the beds were incredibly comfortable. Cant wait to go back.
We loved the tranquility of the lodge setting. The hosts were generous and thoughtful in their approach and had thought of our every need. Ideal bolt hole to escape for a few days and certainly one to bear in mind for the future.
A fantastic Family break, the lodge was beautiful and the views just amazing,
