Trillo House Reviews

Maxine
The house is amazing, all done for Christmas you get a welcome pack with jams, tea, coffee bread, drinks. A lovely bunch of flowers the beds a so comfortable it is beautiful.I would say the only down fall was the hot tub, it was only a 2 person hot tub. Very close to the main part of Whitby as well
Lovely quirky house in great location Well presented and beautiful welcome hamper. Great communication with the owners. Would definitely recommend to others.
We thought the house was amazing and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hot tub was a huge hit with both adults and children. Beds very comfy. Rooms spacious so plenty of opportunities to get together and socialise but equally enough space to have a bit of time to yourself. Improvements vacuum cleaner doesnt pick up and no broom or mop for kitchen floor. No wooden spoons or serving spoons. Better instructions on where to park. Loved the grocery welcome pack and the fresh flowers a nice touch. All in all a great house would recommend as long as you are ok with stairs they deffo helped burn off the extra calories consumed over the weekend!
This holiday home is absolutely beautiful, able to walk to everything around whitby. The owners was very helpful both times I contacted them. The holiday home has everything available for you and is home from home and extras
Vivienne
Fabulous, spacious, well equipped and very comfortable house. The Welcome pack was excellent, with everything you'd need for a first night. Thank you, very much appreciated. Just 2 points for your consideration As our stay was early October, the weather was very rainy for the first 2 nights. No problem. However, if the hot tub had a canopy, we could have still used it. Perhaps you'd consider arranging a canopy for the comfort of future Customers. In addition, the timing of the heating should be your Customer's choice. Thank you
Jennifer
Beautifully furnished property in a really central yet quiet location. We didn't have much trouble finding locations to park using the permits provided. One thing which we hadn't realised from the description, though, was the open plan nature of the top floor room. Having no door meant the toilet and bath felt very openplan indeed! Also, there is no shower in this room which meant there is only the one shower for the whole house. Would highly recommend, despite this.
Ingrid
What a beautiful property, overwhelmed with all the little touches, flowers, welcome basket, bath robes & kitchen cleaning products incl the dish washer tablets. We all had a lovely stay and thoroughly enjoyed the house. If 8 of you need a home from home, this house is thoroughly recommended. We will be back. Absolutely beautiful property, stunning. Thank you Izzy & Edwin for allowing us to stay.
This was an excellent house to stay in. All the facilities were very good indeed and there was plenty of space for 4 couples to stay in. We spent a lot of the time socialising in the spacious kitchen diner. Being so close to the centre of Whitby was a big bonus. Parking was a little tricky as it is all around Whitby and you need to check that you have enough permits for the amount of cars you bring.
Rachel
We were a party of 6 plus a three year old and we then had visitors during the week. Trillo is perfectly placed for everything Whitby and has the benefit of a garden and hot tub which is very rare in Whitby. The kitchen was well equipped, the bedrooms beautiful and the welcome pack much appreciated. Id also like to thank Izzy and Edwin for their super fast responses to correspondence and for posting my dress back when Id stupidly left it there and they are incredibly friendly and approachable. The kitchen would benefit from a mop with which Id have been able to clean the floor during our stay. We will definitely stay here again and loved every minute!! Thank you
Lovely place. Preferct location. Thanks for the welcome food and drinks. A very relaxing place to come back to after visiting the area. Great hotub and kitchen.
Wonderful house with all amenities provided. Four really good size and quirky bedrooms, all with good sized TVs. Two large sitting rooms, first and second floor with large TVs. Very large family bathroom with roll top bath and good shower on third floor, roll top bath on fourth floor with sink a toilet. Downstairs cloakroom. Extremely large kitchen with everything you need provided, including bottle of milk, butter and six eggs. Well maintained hot tub. All together a really lovely stay, being close to the train station and shops. My only negative comment would be that the small garden and furniture need some TLC. Parking wasnt too bad as managed to get both cars parked up outside, with the scratch cards in the window, for the duration of our stay. There is a park at the top of Newton Street where you can take your furry friends for a walk but it is very steep and dogs must be on a lead. The other park, where dogs are not allowed, is absolutely stunning and worth a walk round. All together a really lovely stay and highly recommended. Great communication with the owners too.
Sheryl
Lovely! Shame about the weather.
Rachel
We have had a brilliant time at trillo house, what a beautiful property. Extremely well equipped with everything that we needed. Very well looked after and the cleanliness was superb. Fantastic location already looking at dates to re book. Thankyou so much you have a beautiful property.
Many thanks for a wonderful weekend in Trillo house. It is a beautiful place and a fabulous location. Quite a hidden gem! The extras you provided were greatly appreciated and went down well at breakfast time. The hot tub was great to relax in after our long walk around Goathland on Saturday, even the men enjoyed it! The bedrooms were quite spacious with really comfortable beds. We would definitely stay here again! Kind regards Bev Higgins
Michelle
The house is gorgeous, its layout and decoration are superb and the owners have thought of everything so its very well equipped. We were welcomed with fresh milk, eggs, bread, butter and a selection of jams and marmalades which was a lovely touch. The hot tub was an added bonus which we really enjoyed. Location couldnt have been better. The owners Izzy & Edwin were lovely and very helpful, would definitely recommend this property if you are looking to stay in Whitby.
Lovely property, couldnt of got a better location, parking was absolutely fine loads near by free parking and used the 4 permits that were given to us by the owners, owners were very helpful with any questions and gave clear instructions for accessing the property! Property was very spacious and clean. Thanks for a lovely stay and hope to stay again soon!
Robert
Verywell situated near the centre of Whitby, the house was very comfortable and extremely well furnished and equiped . Easy to use central heating . The owners were very nice and helpful on the odd accasion we needed to contact them
Elizabeth
A beautiful house with everything you could ask for. Very well equipped and perfect for a large family group. We had a magical time. The house was decorated ready for Christmas and felt so special. Trillo house is very well located close to the town centre with bakeries, shops and pubs near at hand. Great for popping out for a paper in the morning. We loved having the hot tub available and spending time together having evening meals and games in the large kitchen. I would highly recommend this property.
Michael
Nice house and well cared for clean and tidy ideal location shame the parking is not better, we would be happy to stay here again.
Nice house and well cared for clean and tidy ideal location shame the parking is not better, we would be happy to stay here again.
Beautiful house and perfect location! It was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The owners were very helpful. Only downside was the lack of parking but the owners sent us directions and we found free parking, which was 5 minutes walk away so not a big issue. I would definitely recommend this house!
What a fantastic property! We made the mistake of trying to park in the streets either side which resulted in a very tight 3 point turn and reversing down a very tight street with cars on either side. We then realised we could use the scratch card in other areas and parked, after unloading the car, about half a mile away. The property itself was fantastic and very clear with a welcome pack of Prosecco, bread, butter, jam etc, and had all the equipment we required. Make sure to take cooking oils, condiments, herbs etc. The stairs were a little challenging but the rooms were elegant and comfortable. Trillo House made a great base for exploring Whitby! Dont forget to try the fish and chips!
A lovely well equipped property that was in a perfect location accessible to local, shops, bars and restaurants. The house provided enough space to relax and unwind yet all be together for socialising. The hot tub provided a relaxing touch when needed. We did not experience any parking problems and very much appreciated the parking permits provided. Thoroughly recommend this property in lovely Whitby.
Nicholas
Great house, superb location. Fallen in love with Whitby! House was clean, comfortable and full of character. We had a brilliant holiday.
Brilliant holiday at Trillo House. All local amenities were within walking distance, beds were comfortable and everywhere was very clean. Edwin was extremely helpful with the parking as we took 3 cars. The hot tub was a lovely touch and the courtyard felt very private, inspite of the central location.
Nicola
Fantastic stay, the house is central to everything you need yet far enough removed to be relaxing. Lots of little extra touches like arriving to bread, milk, eggs and butter. The kids loved the hot tub too.
Caroline
We had a brilliant weekend at Trillo house! Izzy was really helpful when I needed to get in touch, and the house itself was lovely and a great location for exploring Whitby.
Esther
We absolutely LOVED this house! It was the perfect location, it was more than big enough to fit two adults & three preteens in, it had everything we needed. Couldnt recommend this place enough. Loved it!
We had such a lovely time in Whitby at this house. It was immaculately clean, and so much more spacious than the pictures made out. Such a good space for us to visit as a family and right on the doorstep of the Whitby front. Izzy was super responsive and overall we just loved it.
Noreen
Trillo House was everything we hoped it would be and more! A wonderful period property, spacious and so beautifully furnished. The top floor bedroom was a beautiful vantage point , look out the skylight for views of the abbey. The kitchen was a home from home, so well equipped for a rental holiday home. Cooking a roast for 8 was easy! Its proximity to the town centre was a bonus. A short walk to shops and the harbour. I have stayed in many holiday homes and Trillo House was probably the best. Fluffy white robes for after your relax in the hot tub those are the touches that made it special. We will return for sure!
Deborah
We had a wonderful time. Really didn't want to leave. Lots of thought had obviously gone into making the property as comfortable and attractive as possible and it showed. A marvellous welcome pack best we have ever had in addition to music and lights on when we arrived made us feel really welcomed. Recuperating post long illness and this was a perfect tonic.
Gorgeous house. It has everything you need and its located in the perfect place central to everything. The owners are super lovely too
Enjoyed our stay. Spacious rooms and very handy for the townWould be nice to have a bath in the property but we made good use of the hot tub. Very prompt updates from the owners.
Fantastic stay at Trillo house for a family get together. Lovely little touches of bathrobes for all, toiletries in the bathroom, wireless charging beside clocks and even a birthday balloon and cakes for our arrival. The beds were all so comfy and the kids were in awe at the size of the TV's. There was a hiccup with the hot tub on our first night but a call to the owners and it was sorted within the hourgreat response. Trillos house is ideally located for exploring Whitby and the surrounding area and has a lovely mix of an older house with some modern furnishings. Two things which let this big property down are no allocated parking however saying that we got parked up the street okay and only one shower room for 8 people. Another suggestion to make the stay easier would be some additional cutlery and some plastic items for use outsidewe didn't dare take glass in the hot tub. Would definitely book again, thanks for a lovely stay.
Rachel
We had a wonderful Christmas at Trillo House. The house is fabulous, really comfortable and was beautifully decorated for Christmas, including a really lovely Christmas tree. There were some great little touches and we lacked nothing. Our host Ed was extremely responsive and appeared within an hour when we encountered a minor problem, which he sorted out for us. The location is perfect, a 5 minute walk to the harbour, shops, pubs etc. All in all we had a wonderful family week, we can thoroughly recommend Trillo House
This is a beautiful house, both inside and out with every imaginable home comfort. Just a short stroll from all the attractions, so perfectly situated. The interior is very styish and comfortable. It is dog friendly but you would not know animals stay there. I recommend it highly and will certainly come again.
Cheryl
We had a 3 night stay at Trillo house this week with my family , including 4 year old twins. The house is amazing and lived up to all our expectations. Its a beautiful Quirky house with lots of history. Lots of space and a lovely kitchen with everything you need in it. The owner is such a lovely person and very accommodating. He has a wonderful cafe in the church opposite which is definitely worth a visit . Would highly recommend.
Trillo House is a beautiful place to stay. The layout and the overall appearance is delightful. All rooms boast a traditional feel and are in keeping with the age of the building. The hot tub was an added bonus which all the family enjoyed. I would recommend trillo House to anyone wishing to stay in Whitby.
Went to Trillo Hse with my Son and his family. House very comfortable and everything we needed. Had a welcome pack on table of food basics and a bottle of prosecco. Lots on information about area. No onsite parking but parking permits provided and could park easily. Hot tub great bonus. Izzy contacted me a few days before arriving and very helpful. Great location for Whitby and surrounding area. If tall some of stairwells my cause a few knocked noggins. Highly recommend.

The Grainary Wildlife Farm - YO25 3HS
about 10 Miles
Located in Harwood Dale Village, North Yorkshire we think this attraction makes a superb family day out and couples will also enjoy the nature walks in the area.  There are 6 nature walks in total surrounding the farm so walkers and lovers of the outdoors will be in their element. Some of our favourite walks include the Spring Flowers, Pond and Village walk which takes around 35 minutes, and the Meadow and Trees walk which takes one hour.
Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary - YO12 6RP
about 15 Miles
If you are enjoying a lodge break in the Yorkshire Moors and Coast then a day trip to the Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary highly recommended. This centre is one of the regions most popular attractions and is educational as well as fun. Visitors will enjoy a journey beneath the waves, meeting many strange, beautiful and fascinating creatures of the deep. As well as mighty sharks and beautiful rays guests can get up close to some more common creatures including star fish and can also meet the otters, seals and penguins at feeding time. The site also has children's play area and picnic tables as well as a restaurant and souvenir shop. Family tickets cost £46.80 but the Tourist Information Centres in Scarborough, Whitby or Filey often offer fantastic discounts.
Sea Life Marine Sanctuary - YO12 6RP
about 15 Miles
Located in the Scalby Mills area of Scarborough this makes a fun family day out for those who are interested in marine life. The fantastic ocean tank is well worth seeing - it's been transformed into a Turtle Reef and you can see an amazing array of colourful reef fish and coral. You may also catch a glimpse of the tropical sharks and turtles. Offering good value for money this is a day out with a difference and an all weather attraction.
Peasholm Park - YO12 6QQ
about 15 Miles
This attraction is ideal for sunny days as the beautiful park is ideal for wandering out and taking in the scenery.  You can hire boats including rowing boats and canoes to enjoy the views from the water.  The pedalos with the dragon heads are always a popular choice too. Look out for special events including the Battle of Peasholm Park Naval Battle which has been described as a "must see".  You can also take a ride on the North Bay Railway which will delight children.
Betton Farm Visitor Centre - TF9 3PS
about 17 Miles
Betton Farm Visitor Centre is the ideal attraction close to the North Yorkshire coastal town of Scarborough. This animal farm has all the cute farm animals you would expect to see and will appeal to younger children especially.  A great place to both play and learn we think the Betton Farm Visitor centre is great value for money.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs.  Some of the highlights of the day might include meeting Sofie the Shetland Pony and Henry the goat, as well as the pot bellied pigs called Porky and Hammy.
Flamingo Land - YO60 7EW
about 20 Miles
Situated in Malton in North Yorkshire this has to be one of our favourite family days out.  It's a theme park and zoo all in one stretching over a massive 400 acres. With thrilling rides for the very daring like Cliff Hanger, Corkscrew and Kumali, there are also more gentle rides for the little ones such as Frog Hopper and Helitoys.  Family fun attractions include the 4D cinema, the lost river ride and the Little Monsters Den of Mischief. Check out their website for seasonal events which take place throughout the year and you can also gain more information about the zoo.  Flamingo Land is a resort as well as a theme park so you can also book accommodation there.
Castle Howard - YO60 7DA
about 27 Miles
Castle Howard is one of the regions most beautiful and historic landmarks and is located in 1,000 acres of parkland with breathtaking gardens to explore. As well as exploring the castle visitors can enjoy attractios including the unique Land Train - the best way to see the entire park. There is also a large lake offering boat trips during the summer months. In high season the site is very popular with families and offers organised activities for children including tours, talks, crafting and animal encounters. The site also has a Nature Trail which is fun for the whole family and an Adventure Playground where children can run off some energy.
Yorkshire Lavender - YO60 6PB
about 28 Miles

The 60 acre site is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is an excellent choice for a day trip.
