Wonderful welcoming friendly and knowledgeable hosts to this gorgeous lodge beautifully situated on the end of Loch Ewe and perfectly presented with generous thoughtful extras thrown in. Furnished to a very high quality and exceptionally comfortable standard. A stunningly beautiful setting by river Ewe and looking out directly on loch Ewe. A comfortable and warm cottage. Cooking and eating in a quirky shepard's hut was fun and cosy. The garden spa hot tub was a big bonus and very relaxing. A spacious cottage with a large bed and huge bathroom which made it feel luxurious. With some small improvements it would rate as a 5 star.

We were looking for a relaxing break and we certainly found it here. The boathouse is just stunning and has everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The accompanying shepherds hut is just perfect for sitting and dining in and again has absolutely everything you need. We loved sitting in the hot tub at night and were lucky enough to see seals and otters feeding from the end of the garden. The location is superb, the hosts are fantastic and we will definitely be back.

The staff that welcomed was very helpfull and informative for all the local information that we would need for our stay. For my 3 months stay in Scotland, Poolewe and the Writers Retreat was one of my absolutely high lights. I spent two weeks in this adorable house and after leaving it behind, all I wanted was to go back! There is not much to do yes, but that was exactly what I was looking for. It is a retreat. It is quiet. The house and kitchen are with so much love decorated. And after a long walk through forests and over moorelands it is fantastic to end up in the well heated hot tub. I will come back!
