The Potager Reviews

Wendy
The Potager is absolutely gorgeous . So well equipped and a beautiful location. We see Otters and Seals right from the Lounge window and whilst enjoying the hot tub! We came away feeling very relaxed but equally could have stayed for a month! You could not be disappointed with this. Note if you go in winter months, most places are closed so you wilRead morel be doing the cooking every night. Great shops both in Poolewe and Gare Loch, however, with everything you could need food and drink. Stunning place! Hide

Stunning location - sea, wildlife, mountains, walks, road trips, and an epic log burner if the weather is inclement or you just want to chill out with a book and glasses of wine.

Knowledge of the disabled access suitability would be helpful. We believe the owners have previously asked for this to be highlighted. Fortunately the owners were very accommodating in changing our booking from the Write's Retreat to the Potager.
Iain
We had an excellent stay at the Potager. Owners very friendly and helpful, would recommend.
Anette
Perfect location, wonderfully cosy living room with a most spectacular view across the Loch and a great wood stove, great bedroom with plenty of drawer and wardrobe space (and coat hangers!), fully equipped kitchen with the fastest induction hob ever, even a freezer. Fantastic walk-in shower, lots of towels supplied as well as bathrobes and slipper s, and the icing on the cake: the hot tub. Can't recommend it enough!
Susan
We had an amazing holiday at this fantastic property. Location and view were brilliant. Found plenty of quiet roads/tracks to cycle on and were really interested in the WW11 history of the area.
Kevin
Just returned from our trip to the West Highlands and a week at the Potager. The accommodation was perfect. The owners have thought of everything. We really loved it and hope to return in the future.

We have just returned from a week in the Potager. This was the most well situated, well equipped and comfortable place. It was warm and cosy, the hot tub was ready for our arrival and the owner was quick to come over and introduce herself. We were made to feel very welcome. Just sitting in the lounge or on the deck you will see so much; otters, sea ls, eagles, oystercatchers, curlews and magnificent skies. also so peaceful with only a few cars passing by (in April at least) an hour. Perfect.
Mark
What a great place .Our second visit here and we enjoyed it even more. Its so well appointed. The owners have thought of everything. If you want to get away from it all and relax, this is a great place. Seals swimming by , every evening! The view, is tremendous. Nice walks, it was fab!

all great; lovely location and quality finish
Robert
Idyllic and away from the hustle and bustle. Great for hill, mountain or coastal walks, watching the wildlife or just hunkering down with wee dram or two and a book whilst just watching the ebb and flow of Loch Ewe and its resident Poolewe seals, otters and abundant birdlife.
Dorine
Perfect retreat for two, use it as a base to explore the area or just to relax. The hot tub makes it extra special. Cozy and all creature comforts you can want or need.
Carolyn

Everything supplied down to plastic picnic boxes and washing machine and dishwasher tablets. Plenty reading material and advice on walking in the local area readily available. Sitting room really comfortable and a wood burner was available girl colder periods. Fully functional kitchen with EVERYTHING supplied. Lovely basket of 'goodies' left by the owners ans a bottle of wine in the fridge. All cleaning materials and ironing equipment in adjoining cupboard along with recycling facilities.

The best we can say is this is our second visit and we will be visiting again. First class (5) accommodation, location and scenery, complete with great hosts and an excellent on-site cafe at Pool House.

The Potager became our home away from home for a week in March 2022. The entire cottage was immaculate and well thought out to make the most of the space and create a comfortable, homelike feel. It was warm, bright, and clean. The kitchen was well equipped, the living room was comfy and had great views across the loch, and there were excellent guid es on things to see and do. Also, the bed was the comfiest holiday bed we've ever slept in! We can't wait to return!
Nigel
