This garden is a must for bird lovers with such a well attended bird feeding area, lovely to watch all the comings and goings if so many birds. Puzzlewood is a somewhat unique attraction within the beautiful Forest of Dean. Visitors can explore the mile of pathways passing over wooden bridges and through some stunning tree and rock formations. The maze of pathways are quite enchanting and the site has recently been used as a location for the BBC1 production of Merlin. While enjoying the splendour of nature there are many types of wildlife to meet along the way including Shetland ponies, Donkeys and Highland Cattle. A Hocus Pokus Halloween event takes place from the 24th to the 31st of October.

Lamas are gentle, affectionate and unique animals and Lama Trekking is fast becoming a popular family attraction. At Old king Street Farm you can spend the day with the charming creatures and enjoy feeding them, grooming them and having a stroll through the woodland. Lamas are not ridden but they can carry all the picnic essentials including tables and chairs! Lama Treks around the stunning Black Mountains are also available.

Queenswood Country Park - HR6 0PY

Queenswood Country Park has a stunning location offering panoramic views of the countryside. The area is abundant with wildlife and you can see how many species you can spot while enjoying the nature trails. The park also has a large children play area and a licensed café. Seasonal activities can be enjoyed during school holidays and at peak times of the year including Halloween events and crafting sessions as well as ranger led walks.

Bristol Aquarium - BS1 5TT

The Blue Reef Aquarium and IMAX 3D Cinema is located in Bristol and makes a great fun family day out. The newest attraction in the region it's an experience not to be missed. More than 7000 animals are resident in naturally themed habitats and you can enjoy wandering around looking at the 40 displays. Highlights include the giant octopus and the cute seahorses. The IMAX 3D cinema system is fantastic - you will feel like you are swimming along with the animals.

This wonderful attraction in Gloucestershire will appeal to animal lovers as you will have the chance to see the fantastic work going on and meet the rescued horses, ponies and donkeys. This place is funded entirely through public donations and they rely on these vital funds. Kids will love the play barn and straw den where they can run off some energy. New for 2010 is the Aerial Runway with Jungle Climber.

Cantref Adventure Farm offers hours of indoor and outdoor fun for the whole family. Inside there is a huge soft play area with a separate area for toddlers as well as ball pools, climbing frames, slides and chutes. The Cannon balls are a big hit with children of all ages. New for 2010 is the Badgers quest interactive maze. Outside there is a play area, large boating lake with paddle boats, nature trails with clues and quizzes and an agility course. At only £29.00 for a family of 4 the park offers outstanding value for money.
