Driftwood Reviews

Andrea
Lovely property, clean and spacious, good location to the town, would recommend.
Hello, this weekend was purchased as a present four our friends who had just got married. The reason we chose the property was because of the hot tub so we were going to use it as a base and socialise in the evenings relaxing in the tub. On arrival the property was very clean and tidy inside only two coffee saches for four guests? But i guess thats just a nice little extra anyway . The following morning we went to use the hot before going out but unfortunately the water smelt slightly stagnant and was only 34 degrees certainly not hot tub temperature. I found test strips for the tub, there was no indication of chlorine or bromine in the water hence it was not set up properly. This was somewhat disappointing as the attraction of the property was the hot tub hence I felt we paid a higher than average price for the area. I phoned the owner Gary and explained once we were able to catch up with eachother. Gary was apologetic and put the error down to the company responsible for maintenance. Not a fault of the property but the following evening the neighbours had a loud domestic incident not really what we wanted when we were trying to treat our friends to a relaxing weekend. I'm sure on other occasions this would be an ideal location for anyone wanting to stay in Torquay, easy walking distance to key locations, but on this occasion it didn't work out for us. There are understandably lots of rules around the hot tub use with a potential fine of 100 if they are breached. It's a shame there wasn't an offer of a 100 refund as the facility wasn't available. I wouldn't choose to stay at the property again as there are better value locations hotels that would be suitable for similar, if not less money.
Anthony
Nice, comfortable property, close to restaurants and harbour. Nice clean accommodation , only criticism was the dining table chairs were threadbare in places and put us off sitting at the table. Maybe owner should think about replacing them.
Darren
Very happy! ! Everything you need and so close to all amenities!! Perfect home and a lovely holiday
Cleanliness issues. Oven was a health risk with rancid fat and mould in grill pan and oven trays with burnt on fat through months of not being cleaned. Oven was cleaned for us after 4 days and trays replaced. Cupboard doors had handprints all over them. TV covered in child's handprints. Crumbs, sand and TV remote under sofa cushions. No instructions for tv. Four remotes ??? No serving dishes and limited cookware. Plates and bowls had crackled glaze. Pillows and protectors stained. Ensuite shower had mould. Overbath shower too much pressure and flips back and floods bathroom. No clear instructions on refuse collections. Hot tub nice but didn't compensate cleanliness. Poor value for money.
Loved our stay at driftwood home from home just better. Facilities excellent including such comfortable beds and hottub an added bonus after a day's exploring. Proximity to shops, pubs, restaurants and other entertainment was excellent with most within 5 to 10 minutes away. Would definitely stay here again and would certainly recommend to Friends and family
Lindsey
Great property in a great location close to the town centre, and attractions. The house has a lovely hot tub which is great for relaxing in when the kids have gone to bed! The only thing that let it down for us were a few cleanliness issues the fridge had a nasty smell and needs a good clean, in the en suite bathroom there was black mould all over the shower head. We also felt the house needed a good dust, lots of cobwebs on the upstairs windows, dust on the blinds etc. There was also a very drippy tap in the kitchen.
Lovely modern, wellequipped house in a great location, only a few minutes walk to the sea front.
Nicola
We had a lovely stay. Just a few points The temperature inside the house too hot. We had to buy a fan as air con wasnt working. Also the door latch was broken on so my 2 year old could open the door. Its worth mentioning that the hot tub maintenance people turn up regularly without warning. Finally a 9am check out is soooo early! Otherwise we had a wonderful stay, thank you!
Samantha
The property is amazing. Stunningly looked after and in a perfect location. We had such fun in the hot tub after walks along the coastal path and around Torquay, Babbacombe and Paignton. Can't wait to come back
A beautiful place in a lovely area, very clean and modern inside and beds are so comfy. The hot tub was bliss in the mornings along with the tassimo drinks provided. Its location is literally a 5 minute walk from the town centre which is far enough from the hustle and bustle at night. We absolutely loved it and are hoping to return in the future.
Jaidon
What a great property driftwood is, just close enough to town but lovely, quite and relaxing. Clean light and airy new build with very nice decor and design! hot tub is an awesome bonus My partner absolutely loved it all! Will definitely recommend over and over, thank you ever so much to our hosts for an amazing get away we shall be returning for sure
The house was fantastic. Great location, central to everything and exactly as described. Great hot tub to relax in. Good parking. The only thing I would change is a second shower as we were 3 Adults and had to use the same shower. But we did know that from the description and it did not deter us from booking. 10 out of 10 from all of us.
Great location and everything you could need on a holiday
Gillian
Fantastic property . ..so clean and comfortable..its like been home from home ..everything you need for a family holiday Added bonus to have a garden with seating and a hottub . Perfect location only a 5 mins walk to the main town and harbour Perfect hosts super fast communication
Debbie
Lovely clean property with plenty of kitchen utensils to be able to cook a decent meal. Hot tub fantastic.
Absolutely fantastic property, with the added bonus of a hot tub. Every facility is provided to the highest standard, will definitely be recommending this cottage to family and friends. Will 100 be re booking Driftwood again.
Joanne
This property is clean, well maintained, has all the appliances and utensils you will need for a holiday stay. The jacuzzi is fantastic and situated in a secluded rear yard which gets the sun from dawn to dusk. This semi detached house is ideally situated about 10 minutes walk down hill to the town centre. The walk back could be problematic for the elderly or infirm. All in all a brilliant choice for a vacation in Torquay we would highly recommend it to all.
