The property was spotless, there was everything that we required and this had clearly been thought about in great detail.
Another lovely property, we have said at three different properties owned by ... Another lovely property, we have said at three different properties owned by this owner and everyone has been fabulous, will definitely be returning but dont know which one because theyre all lovely
Louise
Fabulous stay. Lots of space. Secure garden for the dog. Very clean with everything we needed for our stay. Really comfy bed. The hot tub was well maintained and a lovely bonus after a day out exploring.
Alison
A gorgeous property in beautiful surroundings. It had everything we needed and more! Well be booking to visit again.
Gillian
Accommodation and facilities very good, very clean and tidy and well maintained. Very quiet and peaceful area and good location. Bit short on a few consumables eg dishwasher tablets, aluminium foil, toilet rolls etc compared to other holiday homes we've stayed in.
This is our 2nd time at Long Linney. We love it, ideal to explore north devon. Everything you could possibly need for a self catering holiday. The hot tub is a great way to end your day of exploring. Kim and Rob are on hand if you need anything or have any problems. We definitely recommend
The review covers two aspects Sykes and the property. 1. Sykes. I would not recommend Sykes because the customer service is terrible. Having read the other reviews I am not alone in what I say. You cannot get a response from their phone number, it offers a call back which I am still waiting for 2 months on. The email is not responded to, only the text system and that took a real push back on my part to get any response. I am not sure what has happened to them but they clearly are only in it for the money and not at all for the customer. 2. The property. The property is lovely, and a beautiful location. However the customer service here is patchy. One one level you would think it is lovely, and yet the feel and tone of the information given to you at the property is negative. It feels like they spend far too much time telling you what not to do rather than what you can do. We arrived on a Sunday at 5pm, which is a very late check in. You receive the information by text how to get in literally at 5pm and all of the supermarkets are shut at this time. So we received our little welcome pack on arrival 4 tea bags, 4 sachets of coffee, a couple of sachets of sugar and no milk, and for some bizarre reason you had to take your own tea towels. I cannot think why a small carton of milk and sugar would be difficult to provide it was all so measured, and many of the notices in the house were negative in tone. we didn't use the hot tub but would have been put off by all of the instructions about 9 pages. It is such a shame as they have a lovely property in a beautiful setting and a few little changes would make a massive difference in making you actually feel welcome at the property.
We spent a lovely relaxing week in this beautiful property. It is one of the best we have stayed in. The views from the living room were lovely. It felt so spacious & the kitchen very well equipped. We have a small dog and he loved the garden, we had to keep an eye on him at all times though otherwise he would have got through the gate, that's no fault of the property just our inquisitive pet. I have only mentioned it so that other people are aware if they have a small dog. Otherwise the garden is very secure & the hot tub is great especially as it's at the rear of the property with the great views of the fields. We hope to return at some point in the future.
We had the most relaxing, peaceful week in this beautiful barn conversion. Good communication with Kim and Rob, easy access with key code, very clean and tidy. It was lovely and warm when we arrived as weather cold and wet! Home from home so comfortable, great enclosed garden perfect for our 2 poochies, fabulous views too. Lots of lovely walks found some good pubs locals very welcomingperfect retreat thankyou.. Donna, Terry, Benny and Bertie.
Deborah

Lovely, clean and comfortable cottage with everything you need for a holiday away. Hot tub was great for relaxing in at the end of the day. Bed linen was good quality and comfy beds too for a good nights sleep. Theres nothing we didnt like. It was in a good spot to get to other places. A few local food places and an Aldi and Asda up the road which was a bonus.
Joanna
Absolutely loved our stay. On arrival the place smelt so clean and fresh. The beds were so comfy. The kitchen was fantastically equipped. We would stay here again
Cottage was exactly what we wanted for a restful week. Lovely quiet location. Owner friendly and welcoming. Fantastic base for North Devon exploring
Had a fab stay at long linney. Comfy beds, everything you could need for a relaxing holiday. Loved the hot tub to end a busy day exploring....only one thing missing....a couple of loungers to enjoy the devon sunshine

What a beauiful holiday and staying at Long Linney was absolutley First class. I have a disabled wife with moving difficulties but found this property perfect for her and my two little shih tzys thought they were in heaven. There is lots of space around this propert and plenty of car space area. The kitchen had everything you would ever use to make and cook meals. The hot tub was first class clean and very warm ready to use. The main bedroom is very spacious with a very large bed with ensuite bathroom. Any problems if any would be sorted out very quickly by the hosts Kim and Rob. Very nice people to talk too. I can recommend this property to anyone thinking of Long Linney. A big thankyou to Kim and Rob.
Natalie
Long Linney is a lovely cottage, extremely spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Beautiful living room, super views and of course the hot tub is a real bonus. Our main issue was that the description states the property is suitable for those with limited mobility, ground floor bedroom, bathroom etc...which was the reason I booked, as my partner is a wheelchair user. Unfortunately, nowhere in the description did it state that there are actually several internal steps which made it an extremely difficult and at times, tiring for him. I feel that this needs to be included in the description. As another guest suggested, larger towels are needed we had to buy bath sheets from b&m down the road as the ones provided are small, and there are no spares for the hot tub...maybe suggest guests bring their own for the hot tub, if it's not possible to provide them? Overall we enjoyed our stay, and the owners were quick to secure the gate so our little escape artist dog couldn't squeeze through the gaps, which was appreciated!! I would recommend, but I do think the description needs amending.
Jeffrey
Extremely pleased with everything. I have never seen such facilities even a pair of binoculars. I would certainly recommend this property.
The cottage was the nicest we had ever stayed in. It was extremely clean and well equipped , very cosy and roomy and in a good position for exploring North Devon. The garden was very safe and secure for our two dogs.
Callum
My fiance and I recently stayed for a second time nearly 2 years on from our last stay. The cottage was absolutely perfect in every way again, the location is wonderful, the level of security for our dogs is great and the cottage was so well kitted out for any length of stay. We loved being able to watch the sheep in the field and the owners were so attentive and responsive to when we contacted them for anything. The hot tub is always a happy bonus and we loved spending our evenings watching the sunset and the stars come out. We absolutely love the cottage and look forward to many more stays there in the future
It was out second visit to Long Linney and we enjoyed it very much. Very relaxing break in comfortable surroundings, with a lovely view and the hot tub is wonderful.
We had such a lovely stay at Little Linney, the cottage has everything that you need & more. We will definitely be back!
Fantastic property. Very well equipped. No complaints at all. Throughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend.
Rachel
We had a wonderful week at Long Linney, excellent facilities and place. Beautiful views and peaceful location. Only thing we felt it lacked was a comfortable outdoor seating area. There are a couple of wooden benches and wooden table and chairs but a nice comfy garden sofa or loungers would of made it perfect, to enjoy the lovely weather in comfort.
The cottage was stunning, absolutely all our needs were catered for. I would highly recommend and would stay there again. Truly beautiful. Thank you.
We had the pleasure of staying in Long Linney cottage, it could not of been better for us. Felt like a home rather than holiday accommodation, everything you could need and all very clean. My mother has limited mobility and it was perfect for her too. Secure big garden for the dog. Hot tub was very welcome after days out visiting some stunning seaside towns. Couldnt recommend highly enough, the owners are lovely too.
This property is so private and really quiet. So much wildlife in the garden too. Property is well equipped and our family of 4 were well catered for. Hot tub looking over fields for miles, while the moon rises, is the perfect end to the day.
What a beautiful cottage! We have just returned from spending a week in this stunning cottage, the views are beautiful, facilities fantastic. Everything that you need for a home from home. Even a dishwasher! The area is stunning, in the countryside with a short drive to some absolutely beautiful beaches. We took our two mini daschunds and most of the beaches are dog friendly which is fabulous! Lots of little villages with plenty of places to eat and pick up gifts. Long Linney is definitely somewhere we would stay again, even though its on a working farm not once did we feel intrusive. We spent every night in the hot tub and it felt very private. Beautiful gardens for the dogs to run in, a bbq and hot tub. Did I mention the hot tub??! All in all a lovely place to stay and we would definitely recommend it!
Beautifully presented cottage sitting in a quiet domain on a working farm. The owners have made every effort to think of everything you may need for your stay and even leave out some very tasty tea time treats. My only criticism is a housekeeping one and that was that all of the windows and internal glass doors were dirty. When the rest of the cottage was so lovely and you spend your time looking out at the beautiful views, this was extremely noticeable. Easily remedied.
We stayed here last week would recommend it was spotless and the hot tub was lush . . the hosts very helpful x
A couple of loungers in the garden would have been a great addition
Daniel
We stayed from the 8th of April until the 15th. The owners' Rob and Kim couldn't have been more helpful. On our arrival everything was ready. There was a treat for the dog including a roll of dog poo bags, we'd brought our own, but this was a nice touch. A pint of milk and some biscuits were left for us too. The cottage was clean and there was ample cooking equipment to use. The garden with several seating areas was a nice addition. The hot tub was hot and ready for us to use on the evening of arrival. We were also lucky to have a field full of the owners' sheep and their lambs in the field during our stay too. We would highly recommend this cottage to everyone.
Lindsey
Fabulous cottage in a wonderful location! We had a lovely holiday at Long Linney cottage, recommended by our family who had previously stayed there. Such a beautiful, cosy and immaculate cottage equipped with every home comfort you could wish for. We loved the tranquill setting and incredible panoramic countryside views especially while relaxing in the hot tub! An ideal location too within easy reach of many lovely places to visit in North Devon. We hope to return again some day soon, thank you! Lindsey
